If they're similar to the connector on a 2600 it shouldn't be a huge deal to solder on a new one. The hard part as you've noted is finding a replacement. You might start a thread in the marketplace for a dead CV. -S

If you really think you need one I have a counter off a Midway door, you can have it if you want it. I have no idea how to wire it to work with a MAME setup though. -S

Thanks for that tidbit Cassidy. I think I'll be adding a combat "turbo" button to my homemade controller. -S

What an excellent reproduction label. I can hardly tell it's not original. -S

Thanks. There's more info on my website if you're interested: http://www.stingrays.dk/arcade -S

They're offered for sale used all the time on the arcadecontrols.com message board buy/ sell/ trade forum. Post a wanted ad there and you'll probably get several offers the same day. -S

It's not a real arcade game, but here's a picture of my MAME cab. I converted it from a Midway cab. All of the artwork is custom designed. One of these days I'll have the side art printed. I've got another control panel for it that has a trackball and a spinner on it. The coin mechs are functional and accept arcade tokens. -S

I always wondered if I was the only one who gets motion sickness from first person perspective games. This is the main reason why I can't stand FPS games, I start to feel sick after only a few minutes. Cockpit view driving games do the same to me. I have to switch Gran Turismo to the behind the car view or I can't play it. -S

I can't even figure out what to do in the first Ghostbusters. I never had it as a kid, just recently got it in a lot that I bought. -S

Man I stink at this game. I don't know how I managed to break 100k the other day, because I can't even get close to it again. I'm afraid I may have already posted my highest score for the week. -S

Must have been a ton of bid retractions because it's at around 23k now. Still a pretty damn good profit over the $1200 he says he paid for it. I hope someone in that massive list of bidders is serious, this guy deserves his beer & ball game. Hell I feel like sending him a six pack just becasue the auction was so amusing. -S

Poor Stan, didn't you have any friends? -S
-
I have no idea, but I wanted to suggest that you marry that girl ASAP. -S
-
Wow, little hostility there guys? I promise not to bid on it. -S

At first I thought this was a bad idea, but then thinking of the expert/ novice switch on my Sears Sixer sparked an idea of my own. Perhaps we could make two catagories. Experts play by an extra rule (like how far can you get on one life or whatever). Everyone else plays normally. I know this just creates more for Ze_ro to keep up with since he would then have to keep track of two top ten players lists, but this might help encourage those who don't want to compete in the majors enjoy the competion. -S

I thought I was being jerked around - but maybe not

This guy sounds like a total loon to me. Better make sure the package isn't ticking before you open it. -S -
Combat was always a consistant hit around my house. Even after we had accumulated a ton of games we still played Combat a lot because it was arguably the most fun two player simultanious game that we had. -S

I stopped at my local source for vintage gaming stuff today to see if they had anything new since the last time I was there. Usually they only have some Atari & INTV stuff. This time I found: Colecovision Popeye Vic 20 Jupiter Lander Vic 20 Slot Carts only. I don't have either system, but I picked them up in hopes that someone here might need them. I'd like to trade them for 2600 or 7800 carts if anyone here is interested. My collection is not massive so feel free to offer common stuff as trade. Edit: I'd really like to trade for an Atari Popeye since that's what I thought the Colecovision Popeye was when I first picked it up. -S

Unless I'm mistaken (I don't have one in front of me at the moment) a 2600 PS is 500 ma, not 300. -S

129,160 This is not one of my stronger titles I'm afraid. Given the number of HSC threads that are starting to accumulate, I agree that a dedicated forum might be a good idea at this point. We should all be better sports than to quit the club because a better player has joined or expect a better player not to compete because he is too good. I'd really like to see those who have left reconsider and come back to enjoy the games. -S

You could always frame it. Just because it's a magnet doesn't mean that you have to stick it to metal. A cheapie poster frame will almost certainly cost less than a sheet of steel. -S
-
I'll go with the Drano. -S

I agree, if you don't mind plugging in and unplugging the cord from the back of the TV when you want to play the adapter does give a better picture. -S

Radio Shack still sells them new. -S
