    It would... I know the game isn't rare by any means, but it has taken me what feels like AGES to track this one down in a box without the black swatch.  

     

    Good prompting though - I'll message the seller and ask them to pack well.

    Thanks for the heads up on those listings. I have seen them and decided to pass since they aren’t the box I’m looking for.

    Hey, eightbitwit! I've found one on eBay (I don't know if you've seen it or not) that you might be interested in. Sadly, it has the black swatch that you don't want, but it's near CIB (no manual). There's another one that has the manual, but the box has the unwanted black swatch and is in terrible shape. I'll keep my eyes open if I find a CIB one without the black swatch. Good luck!

    Hi everyone - I've been looking for a nice, clean CIB copy of Activision Fishing Derby for quite some time with no luck so I wanted to check here to see if anyone has one they would be willing to sell.

    I'd prefer the "clean" (no black swatch) version of the box, if at all possible (box on the right in the attached picture).

    Thanks for doing this review - it's good to see the controller being used on several different systems and games. This being a combo (paddle) controller is pretty ingenious as well.

     

    Any ideas on a potential ETA to this going on sale to the public? I'm definitely interested in getting one, as it's significantly more portable (along with the RetroN77) than a CX-10/40.

    Activision is a very doable set right now but will probably get much harder later on. I'm missing double dragon too along with beamrider, decathlon and maybe another one can't remember.

     

    If you collect alot of 2600 boxed games it's amazing seeing the variation in colors on the shelf.

     

    Yes, it's definitely doable, but the prices continue to go up. Games like Beamrider, Cosmic Commuter, Private Eye and Hero show no signs of slowing down, either. Double Dragon has been almost impossible for me to obtain boxed due to price. While I was at the National Videogame Museum in Frisco, TX a couple of weeks back, I also saw there was a Gostbusters 2 for the 2600 and I had no idea that even existed.

     

    I'm big on Activision and the color/gatefold Atari 2600 games..those were the heavy-hitters of my youth with the Silver box games coming in a close second, so I'll have a special spot in my heart for all of them for the rest of my life.

    This game is deceptively rare, I had bought quite a few lots and never picked it up. Recently picked it up after comparing Activision list to my collection. Still some holes to fill.

     

    Indeed it is...rarer than one would immediately think. I'm down to needing this and Double Dragon in box and I've got the full CIB set done, so I'm blaming it on my own OCD and love for the Activision box art. :)

    There's one on eBay right now with 9 other boxed Activision games. $100 shipped.

     

    Yeah, I did see that - I just hate to burn a hundy on that one game, but it might become worth it to grab it and then unload the other games... I'll do that as last resort, as I was really wanting to find a bit nicer of a box, tbh.
