  1. What day do you post items? Do you pay attention to what day and time they end? Do you think items that end on a specific day go for more? And does it matter what the item is? (for example in my mind a video game would sell better at night, when gamers are more likely on the Net where as classroom supplys (??) might sell better during late afternoon. Does anyone else put that much thought into their auctions?

  2. I bought it! I had it on reserve and rushed out to get it today. And all I have to say is WTF? The B butto jumps and the A button shoots! Thats not the way it was originally was it? I played alot of MM on the original NES and I don't remember that. I thought that A was always jump on a Nintendo game. And this is a bigger problem than it sounds, it's hard to switch something that engrained in your mind.

  3. Something I have never understood about ebay is why people have to ruin good deals. I am talking about auctions like this: h

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...2251856911&rd=1

The cost is clearly stated and consitantly these are bid up to the same price just $2 less than the actuall cost at the gate. I could probably walk into any visitor center and find a coupon that would save me more! It's not like these are the only ones ofor sale either. If people would just be patient more people could get a good deal. This isn't the only instance either I have seen many more just like this one.

Of course as a seller I wouldn't complain but when I am on the buying end it kind of irritates me.

  4. Oh dear god!  WHY??  :_(

Why would someone taint an authentic Pac-Man cabinet???  Keep these things original!  Not many exist anymore!

I didn't do it I'm innocent honest :) ! I didn't even know it was a Pac cab untill I picked it up and looked inside. Which brings me to a point that I should have made before. There is no side art or anything on this cabinet. It was painted black when I got it and I covered it with nifty wood grain artificial covering (contact paper).

  5. Okay now I know I have lost my mind! Up for sale is one Pac Man arcade cabinet that has been converted to a JAMMA cabinet. I bought this as an ALIEN cabinet and have used it to play several other JAMMA titles. I can't find any more JAMMA titles that I want or at least can afford so here it is. Everything worked fine the last time I had a PCB in it. I have no PCB to test it now. Lights, sound, monitor, power source all work okay. Some burn in on the monitor (of the pac man maze!) but it realy is not noticable when you are playing. Coin mechs wrk and I have the key for the coin door and the back. The door on the front needs a new latch because I replaced it and used a straight one instead of a bent one.

I am asking $150 or best offer. For trade I am looking for any arcade item speciffically a pinball machine, though I doubt anyone would trade one of those. I may also consider an XBOX or PS2 system with some games. PM me for more info or to make an offer. Thanks!

  6. Okay this is it. I have decided to sell my Vectrex. In an earlier too wordy post I attempted to trade it but no dice. Now I would like to take the family on a summer vacation and I need the CASH!

So here's the deal. I have a nice vectrex system that I bid on furiously at PhillyClassic in March. It comes with TWO controlers and a multicart that I was told had all the games on it (says muticart version 1.1 on label, 1994). It does not come with a box. The normal vectrex 'screen wobble' is present.

So PM me with an offer. This will be available untill Saturday at which time I will put it on eBay. I am still open to a trade also: I am looking for an X-Box.

  7. Odd that this question comes up now...in the past  months, 3 of my "White Whale" items (well, two carts and a concert...) have been found :)

So I guess my current White Whales are:

    Vectrex

    Neo-Geo

those are the only two systems I want, but have not yet been able to acquire.  I think the main reason is that I'm a cheapskate, and have no real desire to spend more than $100 for either one...although it seems that Vectrex prices may be coming down a touch...so that one may be doable this year.  Oh yeah, I also don't use eBay...so that makes things a lot harder.

I do have a few White Whale games...all for the 2600

    Swordquest: Earthworld

    Harbor Escape

    Artillery Duel (Single Ender)

    Atari Video Cube

    Pooyan

    Tron Deadly Discs

so why are these white whales for me?  They are the last games I need in order to get back all the games I had as a kid.  I've been working on this for 4 years, I want it done :)

I have a Vectrex I am looking to trade if you have anything good

  8. Okay, so my friend who is also a true Atari collector (and my chief rival for finds in the area) is getting a dog. A discussion came up Sunday night of Atari related names he could give the dog. So, if you were going to give a dog an atari name what would it be?

Some of the ones we came up with:

    Coleco

    Double Ender

    Evil Otto

    Chase D. Chuckwagon

So how about it? What should he name him?

  9. Glad you all liked it. For those of you that had a problem with one or more of the questions notice that there is a link on the page to contact the author. Don't know if the people who wrote these are still around but it's worth a shot!

  10. Okay, I'm still not sure I want to do this, but my desire to play games is slowly overpowering my desire to own one very cool collectible. That collectible is a Vectrex system. This is the Vectrex system that was auctioned off at Philly Classic. It was played a couple times right after I bought it and seemed to work fine. It has been stored safely away since then, hence the reason I am considering trading it. It comes with TWO controlers that I was told had all the games made for the Vectrex on it. Like I said, I feel bad about trading this but my true love is Atari, and there are other things I want and while this is very cool it's just been sitting there.

Now for what I want: I am looking for a used xbox with a couple of games. (I don't know if that seems like alot but if you know what the auction went for it seems fair). I especially want Star Wars games. I also may be tempted by an offer of some nice Atari Carts that I don't have. (And I have alot of carts so I mean something rare!) PM me if you are interested and I will see what I can do. Thanks!

Update: If no one has an xbox I may be willing to sell if the price is right.

  11. It's interesting to realize I have tag sale competition for Atari stuff in my area..this could have the makings of a great sitcom..ya know' date=' me tackling him into a table of carts that go flying into the air...scrambing for that boxed 50 cent Quadrun....[/quote']

LOL "Some Guy" lies in my area too. My best friend and I both collect games but we know when each other get them. Long ago we decided that "some guy" was out there. We had some pretty crazy ideas ourselves including setting up a table at our local flea market with a few of our rare cartridges sitting out as 'bait'. When "Some Guy" buys them find out how much he knows the jump him. LOL Or sending cartridges off to various goodwill stores with GPS chips in them and then tracking them down again later!
