  1. http://www.x-arcade.com/info_dc.htm This one (as advertised on AtariAge) looks like what I'll probably buy. What do you guys use? I know, I know, you can use the keyboard, but I wanna get that old style arcade feeling again. I know it's possible. I also wanna maybe try and build a cabinet. I've seen several (see Sean Kelley's website) that have done it. Now that would be cool.
  2. The Odyssey2 truly is an underrated system. It's a lot of fun and rarely gets mentioned in discussions about classic gaming. I'm not sure why. KC Munchkin is a classic. Smithereens and Pick Axe Pete are great. I have one with 22 boxed games... I love it.
  3. Here are some links I found a while back on Fila Tennis for xbox: http://www.gamesdomain.com/news/7338.html http://xbox.ign.com/articles/357/357134p1.html and here is an article claiming it will build upon the nice stuff in Virtua Tennis: http://store.gamezone.co.nz/product.x?1456636
  4. Virtua Tennis (and Tennis 2k2) are the best tennis video games so far. Funny that they are are on the discontinued DC (what a superb console this is). The tennis game for PS2 looks nice but is 2 player only and doesn't have the game play. NOW... Fila Tennis for xbox comes out this month. They are touting it as the best ever. The screen shots do look nice and all... anyone know anything about it? Adrian? I am extremely curious about it. I mean, if they could "out do" Virtua Tennis - that'd be amazing... but I truly doubt they can.
  5. Didn't wanna start a flame or anything... didn't mean anything bad by that. AtariAge is a great place - no need for negativity. Take care and I hope all is well
  6. Gunstar...You're probably right... however, perhaps you ought to follow your own advice. Every other post on every forum on atariage seems to be from you.
  7. You're so right!!! I was just slightly disappointed as a scrolled through the female players ....and no Anna! However, Jelena Dokic look damn good. *sigh*, lusting after female tennis players on my dreamcast... sad.
  8. Yeah, it ain't worth it! I got so stressed out by debating Dreamcast vs. PS2 not too long ago with some people. It's really dumb to let it ruin your day...and I let ruin mine. BTW - Adrian M has been a complete diff person as of late. He actually has some pretty insightful things to say when he's not slamming everyone.
  9. Virtua Tennis was the first game I bought for DC. It's great - but Tennis 2k2 is the best! GET IT! You can find it without much effort. It's all of what you like about Virtua Tennis, but with better music and a little better game play. Also, CHICKS! 4 player mode on Tennis 2k2 is as good as the BEST xbox game, period.
  10. Has anyone tried this peripheral? Is it any good? What about the games it can be used on (Sega GT, etc, etc)? I found one at GameStop for $14.99 and was wondering if this was a decent find? Haven't purchased it yet - wanted to get an opinion from you guys first. Thanks!
  11. I think this place still has 'em in stock: http://www.lik-sang.com/catalog/product_in...0236&PID=898618
  12. Just got a Defender II cart recently, and man was I suprised!! I rarely hear much about htis game. It rules! So much better than the original "Defender". Hardly any flicker and the graphics/gameplay are pretty amazing. Guess I'm pretty surprised this never makes it on people "must have" lists... Any thoughts?
  13. Liquid Sky is right on! You can't just "copy" a dreamcast cd. Won't work. You have to use a "rom burner", aka: NERO 5. You can d/l a nice trial version from their website (http://www.ahead.de/en/download.htm). Man, one of the coolest reasons to buy a dreamcast is for the emulation it can do...
  14. ...if you've still not found your solution... try www.dcemulation.com. They have a VERY nice tutorial on how to make self-bootbale DC emulator discs. I very easily made NesterDC and DREAMSNES and StellaDC in about two hours.
  15. Spacemaster x-7 is my favorite Atari 2600 game. As you probably know, it's a pretty rare cart - usually fetching around $20 off the popular auction websites. I recently burned a copy of StellaDC (Steall emulator for the Sega Dreamcast) and I play the hell out of Spacemaster x-7! I'll post my high score here tomorrow. I think I'm pretty decent.
  16. Adrian M, First of all, thank you for not slamming the DC. It musta been togh for you to post a message about DC and not mention the xbox. Second, I agree with you about the stock of dc games. For me to feel good about collecting for a system like dc, it means not paying $39.95 for the harder to find games. Well, that's what I'm down to. The 9.95-15.95 games are gone - or they are the lamer ones (NHL 2k, NBA 2k1, etc). So now my hunt to Elec Boutique, Game Stop, Best Buy, etc, etc leads to nothing at all or high priced titles. BUT, I like the dc because it's a blast to play - not 'cause I wanna make a $30 profit someday. How many Virtua Tennis fans are they out there? I love the game (only after I went to the options and turned off the Van Halen riffs. How does Tennis 2k2 compare? It's one of the games I consistent see for $39.95...can't find one used...so I'll spend the $$ if the game is that much better than Virtua Tennis (which is EVERYWHERE for $9.95). Thanks and sorry this was so long winded. Scott
  17. Adrian M, Man, you truly are a buffoon. I've bitten my tongue many times before after reading your posts, but no more. You call yourself a "gaming scientist"? C'mon man! You like the xbox? Great. I'm really happy for you....now please go away. You have nothing interesting or enlightening to add to any of the topics here. Not jus tto this forum, but any on atariage.com. I think I speak for the masses on this. Go find an xbox forum or something. Good day, Scott PS: The Dreamcast really is a neat system! Underrated and reduced to cult status. Ya know what? That's perfectly okay w/me!!!
  18. Dreamcast Top 10. 1. Skies of Arcadia 2. Virtua Tennis (AWESOME!) 3. Sonic Adventure 4. NFL 2k2 5. Shenmue 6. Crazy Taxi 7. NBA 2k2 8. Arcade Classics (of course!) 9. Typing of The Dead 10. Planet WebBrowser 3.0 (yeah, I'm a geek)
  19. Yeah, if you have an extra Y, I'd be interested in a trade. email me at [email protected]
  20. Okay, I got (at least I thought) a y-cable for the 5200 wico sticks I have (without the keypad). I plugged one of the wico sticks into the Y-cable, and the the cable into the 5200. Strange thing is...when I try to plug the regular 5200 controller into the y-cable, they are both FEMALE connections. You guys know anything about this?!?!? I did manage to get the game started by plugging in the reg 5200 controller and pressing start, disconnecting the 5200 contr, and then plugging in the wico controller. Anyway, (it was centipede) and the player (the shooter) zoomed all the way to the right as if I was pressing the wico stick to the right. Nothign I do relieves this... Would a good cleaning of the connections help? Thanks for reading! Scott
  21. Good lord! I try to be patient with people like Robsterman, but you sir are a complete idiot. I really like the new look of AtariNexus, but it'd be even better if we could weed out crap from Robsterman.
