It doesnt happen with regular Jag cartridges...
-
I noticed that my Skunkboard makes a weird noise like a bad cap or something when it's running in my Jag. Is that normal?
-
Wow! This is really amazing. I have a long way to go in my Jaguar 3D engine if you can crank out that kind of performance with super high-resolution flat shaded polys.
-
Rotate the cube! Uh...

The Sega Genesis and Master System are still sold under license in Brazil and have been since 1990. They still sell over 100,000 units per year. I think Brazilian developers still make domestic games, too.
-
Ill take one, thanks!

Took me a while but I've got perspective projection now! It's damn slow and something's wrong with my matrix that's making it fisheye but it's still cool.
-
My 3D code is getting better... I'm using all three processors in parallel though not in an optimized fashion and they definitely block the CPU when they don't need to. The rotation matrix is calculated by the DSP, matrix multiplication is done by the GPU, and lines are drawn with the blitter on the GPU.

e: wrong thread!
-
What CPU are you emulating in dosbox?
-
Yeah, it supports some basic Hayes commands but nothing more complex than ATD. Hopefully the new power supply I ordered will solve my XM301 problem.
-
Okay, so I must have it configured wrong. I'm using the MPP.COM R: handler that came with a Bobterm disk I downloaded. It's stuck in pulse mode whether I have tone or pulse selected in Bobterm. It's definitely dialing since I can hear the pulses on my handset. (I have FIOS and the ONT doesn't support pulse dialing.)
-
Jeez! Thanks for shelling out.
-
I was able to get it hooked up but it only seems to support pulse dialing, not touch-tone. Anyone have the manual so I can confirm this?

Can any Atari emulator talk to real SIO devices?
Luigi301 replied to TheMontezuma's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
I wrote a program that communicates with my Atari by pretending to be an SIO device and sending data out the COM port at 19200bps - I'm sure the reverse (fooling the drive into thinking you're an Atari) wouldn't be hard at all. SIO is a very simple protocol. -
I just bought a Microbits 1000E modem off eBay that didn't come with a power plug. It has a standard wall wart socket on the back but the correct voltage and polarity aren't marked. Anyone have one of these that knows what kind of transformer to use with it?
-
I'm using a 1.5A CO61982 that came with my XEGS. (The 600 didn't come with a power brick.)
-
Its not tied to NTSC/PAL like an Amiga if thats what you mean.
-
I figured out the problem! The 600XL cant supply power to an SIO2PC and the modem at the same time. Looks like Im investing in an 850 or a joystick port modem. Are there any relatively common modems that have external power supplies and dont require an 850? Id prefer not adding a huge box to my setup if I dont have to.

FIOS so VOIP. Nah, it wasn't ANSI characters. I was getting ASCII characters with dropped bits in questions and stuff.
-
Well, I can connect but the result is garbage on my screen. I'm connecting at 300bps, ASCII translation, full-duplex to Hidden Reef BBS. I'll get about half a screen and a bunch of corrupt garbage. Entering something at the logon prompt causes it to echo back the wrong character and disconnect me. Gah. I don't know if it's line noise, the SIO2PC clashing with the modem, or what.
-
The problem seems to be my SIO2PC. I unplugged it and I can connect to BBSes now.
-
I thought Bobterm loaded the R: handler for you? If not, I’ll need to dig one up for the 301. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hmm. I've tried calling a few BBSes with my XM301 (not SX212, sorry). I get a carrier and a connection but nothing ever comes up in XE-Term. I'm trying to call this BBS at 717-664-3735. I tried Bobterm but it doesn't recognize the SIO modem.
-
My SX212 arrived! Are there any dial-up 8-bit BBSes left that I can call? I see quite a few on telnetbbsguide but I don't know if any are still active.
