  1. I have to agree. I like so many of these, but that one's my favorite. Very creative
  2. Stan, I think you're just setting us up for your next campaign -- moving this emoticon off the supplemental page: :spidey::spidey::spidey::spidey::spidey:
  3. I'll have to try it out to see if the burgers sizzle!
  4. Thanks, Stan, for doing the Stan Awards again. Congratulations to the winners. The personalized hack cartridge is a wonderful personal touch - you all should be very proud.
  5. Madden 2005 for the GBA is surprisingly good - I highly recommend it. I second the Zelda LTTP and Activision Anthology recommendations.
  6. The HSW and Will Wright interviews were already mentioned in this post in the AtariAge classic gaming forum earlier today.
  7. [virtual edit button] Here's a working link to the Gunslinger review [/virtual edit button]
  8. Oh yeah, and their first review is of Sears label Gunslinger (aka Atari Outlaw). . They credit AtariAge for the image of the cart in the article, but where's the screenshot?
  9. This week's The Onion A.V. Club just came out - and its lead story is a long interview with HSW and Will Wright (the guy who wrote SimCity, btw) They are also going to do classic gaming reviews every week! Check it out - highly recommended. Here's the editor's note, btw
  10. I got to play one time last night and scored 19,270. I found it hard to adapt to the faster bullets that showed up around 15,000 -- I'm sure I'll get over it and improve a lot this week
  11. Excellent news, Chad. My CC2 is incredible - it works exactly as advertised -- and I am glad you are making more of them so the CC2 community will continue to grow.
  12. Lousy idea, IMHO. I really like the proxy bid system, and think it's much more fair than a live auction, because it places a value on my spare time. A good proxy bid beats a good snipe every time you want to buy something at a fair price (ie not an insane honking bargain), and lets me bid early and not be around the computer when the auction ends. If someone wants to live on the edge, they can slavishly sit at their computer, or they can go ahead and use eSnipe or one of the equivalent sniping services to do the sniping for them. I also think that sniping is not wrong. A sniper is still willing to pay more than anyone else was for the auction -- isn't that what it's all about?

    CC2: ROMDB update

Thanks, Mot. I really appreciate getting new cc2 rom databases - beats having to find the bankswitching info, edit the text files, and update manually!
  14. Joe C. should be appearing any moment now...
  15. I haven't had the time to get past day 3. I won't post an exact score until I get deep into day 4. Thanks, Kielbaca, for your work in setting up Season II and listening to everyone's ideas.
  16. a ~$6 s-video to composite video adapter will do the trick quite nicely!
  17. [virtual edit button]Inky - I meant to say that I really LIKE your new signature[/virtual edit button]
  18. I sent my donation today. @Inky - I really your new signature - great Random Terrain parody! You have lots of friends on this board. @Random Terrain - I really like your stuff too, and am eternally grateful for your contributions to the Hack-o-matic movement! You have to admit that Inky's new signature is beef-droppy hilarious... @CPUWIZ - thanks for setting this up.
  19. I'll be the token geek who says Zork and Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy. I'll add VCS Adventure to that list, too. I thank Zork for teaching me how to type quickly! For more modern ones, I agree with NE and would say Phantasy Star. (btw one of the better named teams in the AtariAge FF league this year was the Phantasy Stars - even though they came in last place )
  20. I also think that Food Fight has good sound...
  21. One more thought - To keep the Atari theme going - We can call the Pro division "Difficulty A", and the Amateur division "Difficulty B" . The "Difficulty A" and "Difficulty B" divisions would also take away the idea that the "pros" are doing this for money, since the HSC is clearly all about the love of the games.
  22. How about a "Pro/Am" format? Only slightly more work for Keilbaca. Here's my idea: There are 2 sets of standings - Pro and Amateur. Everyone is automatically in the Amateur category, except for Todd Rogers, who is automatically in the Pro category. Anyone who has ever earned (or earns in the future) a top 5 score in any week's event (The 5th ghost? D. Yancey?...) can switch to Pro status by posting their desire to the board. If there is someone who the Amateurs think should move to the Pro ranks (because they are clearly a ringer), and ten (10) HSC members agree, than that person will be moved to the Pro category. -------------- I actually agree with both sides of this argument. Anyone like my suggestion? BTW, welcome back to posting, Pitfall Aimee!
  23. I like a lot of the case designs for the AtariVox that people have building and thinking of in this thread, and am looking forward to Albert's solution. I came up with an even better idea, in my opinion, in the shower this morning -- the AtariVox talking joystick! Tagline: "Talk about a joystick with great feedback!" Why not have an AtariVox, a joystick, and a speaker all in the same case? Some ideas - - We could take the top of a CX-40 and screw it into a larger bottom case that holds everything; - We could have a case that snaps or velcros onto a CX-40 (that wouldn't be an elegant single-cord solution, though); - Remove the guts of one of those larger JAKKS Pacific joysticks and hack it into an AtariVox talking joystick; or -something else more creative that Albert could produce for sale in the AA store.
  24. Ze_ro did an incredible job starting up the High Score Club. There are lots of other members who do great things on this board almost every day, so we really don't need awards. There are also people who do great things on this board anonymously (thank you, Secret Santa), or out of the spotlight altogether through PM's, who are doing things out of the goodness of their heart and not for the recognition.
  25. I tried it for the first time last night - it does have good gameplay. Thanks for the choice, Cybergoth. I only scored 5,000, but I will keep trying later this week.
