  1. True, when it first came out for the 7800, there really wasn't anything else out there like it.
  2. Is the question about sound or is the question asking about a introduction screen before the game boots like the Atari 7800 had? Cause sometimes my 2600 makes farting noise when I put in a couple choice games...
  3. Every Sega Master System game I have has the Sega logo with the "Seeeegaaaaa" sound bite playing the background.
  4. I'd love to see this game come out. When High Voltage was at CGE 2003 they had a demo of it playing and it looked fine. They said that it was about 95% done. There were a lot of extras in it that made it stand out from the normal Mortal Kombat clone. Hope we see it sometime soon...
  5. Since the C64 versions of Street Fighter and Double Dragon were both steaming piles of horseballs, I'm willing to make a wager that if they had been released for the VIC-20 they probably turn out a little worse than what I just said.
  6. I´m not sure which came first, AvP and Checkered Flag on the Jaguar or their involvement with Eye of the Storm for the Amiga and PC. I dont know what they went on to do Later but Rebellion were slated to develop Aliens vs Predator 2 Annihillation Jag CD and I think they were also down for Legions of the Undead, which I think was going to be a CD release too, If any code was written for either of them it has not surfaced though the full proposal and design documentation is known to exist. (Werent they doing Skyhammer too?) There were some screenshots of Legions of the Undead somewhere...
  7. And I'm pretty sure games like "Doom" and "Zool" aren't "Only Available on Atari Jaguar"
  8. Did Rebellion get their start with the Jaguar?
  9. Looks like Terra Cresta, which did make it into American acades...
  10. It looked on par or better than anything they had out at the time... are you sure just one level was completed?
  11. I can't Trip... There are multiple trade in the works with this guy and I'm only able to choose o n e. Regards, Neville Too bad.. Both are great games. I guess my personal opinion would go toward Blue Lighning.. It's a more sought after game and IMHO a more impressive one than Roadblasters.
  12. It looks like they did, but I bet you're talking more about design....
  13. Searching Google I was able to find this: http://www.gametunnel.com/html/section-printpage-126.html Nintendo Gameboy 118,420,000 93% Atari Lynx (estimate) 750,000 1% Sega Game Gear 8,650,000 7% and on AEX: http://www.atari-explorer.com/lynx/lynx.html "The Lynx sold extremely well, over a million units shipped, and new units can still be purchased today from third party companies. "
  14. The movie still sucked and brought shame to both franchises...
  15. I thought I read in Leonard Herman's "Phoenix" that Atari had made a deal with a company that rented out Lynx's to airline passengers who were to fly wherever. This went over so well that the sales of Lynx's skyrocketed into the millions.
  16. The 7800 version of Double Dragon was very cool.... to have on the 7800... But yeah, it's not quite up to par with other conversions... There are some moves missing and some animations... who else is bothered by the fact that Abobo doesn't smash out of the walls?
  17. Drac, I've noticed you bring up that magazine "ACE" quite a bit, which magazine is that? I've never heard of it. Did it cover the 7800 reasonably?
  18. I don't know... I mean, the 7800 could have been a huge hit had it been released with a two year jump... Atari could have had millions of units and games sold, NES would have had to play catch up in the market, by then with the revenue Atari made they could have had another system in the works... who knows.. Same thing with the lynx... Gameboy was no match for the Lynx, it's just that the GB had such a huge jump... But it does come down to the games.. NES and GB blew away all of the competition when it came to the software.. they had all the killer apps... but again, who knows, with a renewed interest in the market, maybe Atari could have spawned a few more Activisions or Imagics developing exclusively for their systems much like Capcom and Konami were for Nintendo...
  19. Something like that could have happened... I don't know.. the last time I've actively played that game was when I was 11 years old...
  20. Yeah, I own that one. It's not too bad of an interface. Kind of more like the Lucasfilm (Zac McKracken, Maniac Mansion) games for C64, or Dracula for the Lynx...
  21. Anyone remember Kings Quest? That's like asking a sci-fi junkie if they ever heard of Star Wars! I loved all the "Quest" games. As far as I know Sierra stopped making them around 97ish? Anybody know what they're last online release was?
  22. It's amazing they stuck around so long selling that little...
