  1. Good Gawd I was sooooooo dissapointed with Mat Mania for the Atari 7800. I mean come on! Where is the announcer? Where is Insane Warrior? Where is Golden Hulk? I loved the arcade version but this version was TERRIBLE! Since we're on the topic of the Atari 7800 I guess I could add 7800 Karateka. That was just too awful..
  2. I didn't buy mine at the time of release. I was still a freshman in high school, no job, and it was around like $199-$200. A few years later, 1996ish, I had a job, went down to my local Babbages one day and saw it for the very economical price of $49.99! I couldn't quite refuse that now could I? Along with that I picked up copies of Tempest 2000 and Iron Soldier. That was all it took. Jaguar fan forever.
  3. Right on! Good looking piece of work you got there!
  4. I remember those catalogs... They were great!! Those catalogs helped me jump start the collection I have today. I was able to get tons of games that I wouldn't have ever been able to find otherwise. But yeah, this was well before ebay ever came into the picture. Later on they started carrying Jaguar, 3DO, and later systems like PS1 and N64... anyway, I haven't seen them in awhile. The last time I asked they said they had done away with them for good. It's too bad. That was a great resource to find old Atari games for a decent price.
  5. I think overall it's an above average port compared to what else is out there. The two things I don't like is, yeah, the no "How High Can You Climb?" and the lack of animation. Like Donkey Kong grabbing the girl and climbing the ladder, or DK falling on his head in the '"rivets" stage. I'm not so heartbroken about the lack of the 4th level since very few ports carry the 4th level. What is the "fabled 8-bit version" you guys are talking about?
  6. I hated Radio Shack! Those assholes never let me touch their computers back in the Tandy days because I was too young and they thought I would reformat their hard drive or whatever... All I wanted to do was play Thexder or King's Quest or whatever they had in their disk drive at the time and they wouldn't let me!
  7. Its closest dancing sibling are those wacky Irish Riverdancers. All you really need to do is hold your hands at your hips when you're playing and it's official!
  8. I'm glad they went back to the classic Contra style. Those PS1 ports were pretty bad... The ironic thing is in two-player mode is that it takes twice as long to kill all the enemies!
  9. Yeah! It's frustrating as all hell but the action is, IMHO, unmatched!
  10. Sorry RJ, I didn't mean to choose a game you didn't have..
  11. OK... I guess I haven't voted yet.. at least, I think I haven't voted yet.. ummmm... I've been wanting to pull out Donkey Kong for awhile.. so DK for me! Yeah baby YEAH!!!!
  12. Please tell me you got your money back... So I would tend to agree with what's been said here. The procontroller is a must have and the CD add-on is pretty cool just for the VLM alone.. It'll be worth it down the line as what Mr. Moss had wrote is very true..
  13. So does anybody know where to go and how to purchase these things!?
  14. Thunder Force 2 or 3 made it on the SNES... Except under a different name... The name escapes me currently..
  15. Good Lord the Jaguar's been turned into a George Forman Grill!!!
  16. Darius G R-Type Leo Gate of Thunder Lords of Thunder
  17. I guess it's not new... it's just IMDBs movie of the day made in 2001... So this might have already been posted before.. Sorry if it was |
