Agreed. Besides, nobody said that it would be an easy job to create products for the mass consumer market. Let's say I was doing a movie. I could spend years writing a script, millions of dollars on special effects, and pour my lifeblood into making something that I think is really special. And then some dude says it's crap. He wants his $8.00 and two hours back! I'd have to be totally willing to accept that. I'd have to have thick skin, accept criticism and reflect on it if I want to make something better in the future. But hey, one guy says it's crap and another thinks it's a masterpiece. This is just what happens.

I would agree. I mean, the SNES had a decent version of Wing Commander. So the Jag is more than capable in that department.

You're right. I used to play the crap out of Star Raiders when I was a youngin. I thought the AATE mode was fantastic. It was a nice updated SR even down to the sound effects in some instances, very cute The nolstalgia was fun but, for me, I can only visit nolstagia, I can't stay. If that makes any sense. I've lived through and played Star Raiders, Solaris, Elite, Wing Commander, X-Wing, Decent, Freespace, and Star Lancer. Each one improves on the last in some way or another. The later games all had a great story hook. Something that made you stay for awhile. Unfortunately, with Star Raiders and Battlesphere you picked it up, played a game, and put it down. From the trailers of Battlesphere it looked like there was real nice story presented and it sounded like the game was going to follow that story. About the empires fighting for space and all that. But all there was in the game was a one page summary screen. So that was the dissapointing part for me anyway.

I've gone for the past two years and have loved every minute of it. Vegas was a huge push for me to go because I love Vegas. You know, whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas and all that crap... I had a great time.. except for the dead hooker incident.. but that had its charm as well.. Anyhoo, when I heard it was in San Jose I was like, WTF? What else is there to do in San Jose? Especially when I have nobody to hang out with afterward.. Now I'm not sure if I'm going or not.. not that anybody cares if I'm going or not.. What other reasons are there to go if the show is in San Jose. So far I've gathered that there are a few more guests and a bigger museum to look at but not touch... what else?

I thought the gameplay was and is great. The graphics and framerate were amazing and it still stands out on the Jaguar as one of the best. However, with that said I was expecting Battlesphere to be more of a Wing Commanderish type of game. I wanted more of a story to it. Something I could sink my teeth into and really get involved in. I didn't really find that unfortunately.
