    With the condition we are going with this engine's limitations, it's a given that this game will never be Pacland..

    Let's say its Pacland prequel or sequel or at least in the Pacland "universe".

    For me more important (apart for the graphics) is to at least have some physics of the game in place.

    for example:

    • objects don't kill pacman ?
    • eating the "gem" turns the enemies blue/eatable ?
    • make the planes fire bombs ?

    ofcourse we can forget all the reverse log platfom levels, magic boot jumps, dark levels, lake jumps, etc

    So it's not so bad to include fire, end bosses or whatever we have available !

    Hi Tix

    The objects will always kill Pacman.If i creat objects

    which are harmful,then i must use tiles,which are

    touchable....i have for a level 64 tiles,which are untouchable,for background,like houses,trees......

    I have 8 tile for ending a level....this means,if i touch

    this,the stage ends here and you go to next level.

    The other tiles are touchable....i use them,so that

    Pacman can walk or jump on them,without being

    hurt.The tiles 1-64 are the untouchable ones....

    the last 8 tiles are for ending.......the rest in between is touchable.

    I have also bonus objects.....INVISIBLE......one,which ends the level.

    One to reach a secret level,if we make one.

    @TIX The sprites look FANTASTIC! So goooood!

    In our Pacland game,Pacman can shoot....i could take this option out,but you never beat a stage.

    Airplanes cannot fire bombs.Ghost do not turn blue

    when Pacman eats a pill or a bonus object.One last

    time....THIS is a Pacland fangame in style of Bentley Bear....for sure it has the options and 

    possibilities of the Bentley editor.NO MORE.

    I hope now,everybody understands.So please

    play Bentley and you know,what kind of game

    you will get.

    then we adjust the size of each stage to our editors specs,

    most things like ground, trees, .. are made by a couple of repeated tiles, so we should have the space to add some good looking houses or whatever comes next !

     

    edit: I just had a quick look in the editor, the level size is 192x11 tiles that makes it 1536x176 pixels

    so here is the first level in a dimension we can use:

    the guys must tell us how many unique tiles we have available per level..

     

     

     

    Could you put the whole thing in raster....then i try to design

    i could use tiles,which do not hurt

    Pacman......but then the game 

    might become too easy.I can make

    a hydrant...just as background or as

    an item,which can be touched.But for a 

    jumpnrun game....a little bit difficulty

    is ok....

    As far as i know,Bob did nit change the 

    engine.

    i would like to get an answer about this from Giles.

    For sure Tix's Pacman looks well.

    The size of the sprites is limited,so bigger sprites

    are not possible 8x32 is standard

    16x64 is Boss size.

    To be honest...i never liked Pacland in the arcade halls......it ate my money too much.And i did not like the Pacman sprite.

    With the editor,we never get the arcade game,but

    we can get a good Jumpnrun in Pacland style.

    When we have all enemies and background,it

    will be horrible to make the gameplay not too easy

    and not too heavy....i must find something in the 

    middle....but this is a long way.

Let me know, and I will be more than happy to create more backgrounds of houses, hills, trees....whatever is in the game.

    Hi Aaron

    maybe i could make such a big house,but the

    tiles in each level are limited.Some of the tiles are massive,this means you can walk or jump on them or running against them.

    Some are only background,this means you can see

    them,but you cannot touch them...other tiles are 

    used for the exit...this means,if you touch them,

    you get to the next level.

    And if i use too much tiles,to create a big object,

    i have no more left for other things.

    This is,why i prefer smaller objects.

    The Pac Sprite looks good...but for some reason,i want to use Giles Pacman,maybe with

    some changes.Cause Giles was the ONE,who started the whole thing.And yes,a death sequence would be good.

    About the boss.....it should have same size,like big Berthilda from Bentley.

    some thoughts:

    Maybe it's pointless to draw dozens of ghosts in plane/car/pogo stick/ufo,..  I don't know the capabilities of the engine.. buut I drew them all anyway  :)

    I just wish we could attract a coder to join the project ! @PacManPlus  nudge-nudge

    at this point we can have a vague likeness of Pacland, but the game plays nothing like it..

     

    If we are going to put-in some serious work, I want the end result to do justice to our effort..  but this is just me, I'm peculiar like that  ;)

    these enemies look great...i will add some 

    of them in the game..For sure,we will

    not get Pacland,cause i am no coder.

    and the editor is limited...but i learn

    every day,how to use it better.

    But we will get a nice Jumpnrun in

    the Pacland Universe.....i could need

    a boss enemy.....any idea????

    Cause we make a Pacland fangame,

    the boss enemy can be.......show me your

    ideas 😁

    good news

    i found out,how to change the colours of the house.

    You are welcome to create another house,but

    please in the size of the small house in this picture,which i used in the game.

    I will post another version with the right colours 

    soon.

    again.....i can use the house...like in the actual demo...i cannot change colours.....for the moment.

    This house would be much too big......the other 

    one was better.....
