  1. Hello metarog, how are you?

As you may know, I'm pretty new to Odyssey 2 collecting. I started with the brazilian titles, now I'm searching for the american ones, but with eyes open to european as well.

    Here they go:

Brazil: Almost all brazilian titles (2 missing, O Gato e o Rato and O Segredo do Farao (and if we are counting the Ectron Mission Impossible cart is missing as well)). All titles CIB, one NIB, almost all if not mint, near mint, two of the strategy games NIB (not sealed, but in the factory packaging box, I'm not sure NIB applies to that), two prototypes (come-come das trevas (which I'm not sure is a prototype, it says so in the cart, but I'm not feeling it, and Balao Travesso)). One loose system and one NIB System with the factory packaging.

USA: 29 titles up to now (Power Lords included), waiting for at least two more from a friend ;) (Demon Attack and Attack of the Powerlord) so count as 31. One CIB system.

    10 homebrews

Europe: About 30 titles branded Videopac, all sorted out (acrylic, cardboard box). 3 Jopac titles, 1 Videopac Siera title. The Kids in Traffic Title. Consoles: 1 loose Videopac G7000 Sierra, 1 NIB Radiola Jet 25/04 Videopac with factory shipping box, 1 loose Brandt Jopac

Some of that are still on the mail, so I can only send pictures on the near future.

Hope I make it to the team

Thanks again and all the best

    Leonardo

If you need more specifics, please tell me so, ok?

  2.

    Hello Metarog!!!

I'm finally beginning to put my Odyssey 2 stuff in order, just (almost) completed my Brazilian collection (two games missing, but all the others are in perfect, some near perfect, and a couple in very good condition), the strategy games are on the shipping carton box, and the system is like new and still on the shipping carton box as well. I'm starting to collect the American versions (more focused on that) and also purchasing what I can find on the European market (but pretty slow on that), I have a still in shipping box Radiola Jet 25/04, I'm negotiating a boxed Brandt Jopac JO7400, already have a loose one, a loose Videopac G7000 Siera system, a loose Radiopac G7200, a loose The Voice (but with custom box and styrofoam) oh, and a boxed Odyssey2 as well, also a couple japanese Odyssey games. I've been pretty agressive on my purchases, but I'm slowing down now... And also part of The Sherlock Holmes project as you already now.

Now for the Questions at hand:

1.) Love our system and games!

    Yesssss

2.) Post a reply to this thread and tell us all at least one of the following:

a.) How you got your system?

Bought from a guy on an auction site in Brazil just to put it with another systems as decoration, then Rafael contacted me and everything changes... All this in one year period.

b.) Your favorite memory of the system or games?

As a kid I used to go to a friends house to play Didi na Mina Encantada, which is the Brazilian version of Pick Axe Pete. Good times

c.) The weirdest thing you have typed into "Type and Tell" to make The Voice say?

    Never played

3.) Consider joining the Videopac / Odyssey 2 Forum here: http://videopac.nl/forum/

    Already there

4.) If you are already a member of the Videopac /Odyssey 2 forum include your user name for that forum in your post if different from your AA username. I will add them both to your spot on the list below.

    same name leonardobiagi

5.) Add the following to your signature box once your username is added to the list below: Official Wizard of the Odyssey 2 / Videopac Brotherhood!

    Will do

    Thanks again

    All the best

    Leonardo

And by metarog. I mean ScottyDont00, sorry about that, it was on my Ctrl+C because of a message I sent metarog and didn't check it. My bad, terrible, terrible bad... :| :| :|

  4. Hey there! I'm really interested in making a replica 3DO black box as well. Can I get a copy of them too jce3000gt? Or if you got them already, off of you Leonardo? Thanks!!

    Hello ageekofadad, how are you?

I'm still waiting for the pics from jce3000gt... :-D :-D , but I do have the colorful box from it and can send you if you like it. In the meantime, if jce3000gt reads this, your help is still very much appreciated.

    Thanks to all

  5. Hello again!! I'm trying to make a replica of the PS3 Final Fantasy XIII white lightning box, and I managed to get some pretty nice pictures from Google, to only thing I coildn't get was a nice picture of one of the sides (The one on the left of the picture...). I'll post the best picture I could get. So if any of you good souls could send me a nicer picture or even direct me to a site, i would be more than grateful (and please notice that I didn't even ask for lots of pictures and or measurements..)

  6. How many different boxes for cards are we talking about here?

    Just wondering if I should pick my 1, 3, 5, 10, or 20 favorite.

I just purchased a batch of 10 playing cards (online) from a local supplier and I'm waiting for his response by tomorrow wether we can make different ones inside this batch or if they must be the same.(I'm guessing that from a quantity as lows as 10 they'll have to be the same, but if I buy a 50 cards batch we can make 5 different ones, keeping the minimum of ten, but getting the lower price of fifty, but that's only I guess for now, but I'll keep you posted as soon as they answer)

    Thanks again

  7. I agree we all need to agree. Here again mine are only a suggestion and ones I would like to see which not everyone would agree with. I am very flexiable. I will pm you the pics and you can use them or not. Also, did you ever decide on if you are going to do the top and bottom flaps. If so you will need all 6 sides. I will send you the front and back for now and can always send more if you need them. This way you can build your library for future use too.

    Thanks,

    HJ

I'll try and make them as similar as possiblr, so if there's something written on all 6 sides. It'll be there and that's exactly why I asked for help and that's exactly the help you are giving...

  8. I tried posting earlier but can't find it so if it shows up twice, sorry.

On the decks of cards you are showing foreign boxes. The box 1980gamer show is a good example of the 2nd generation box. I think we should use the 1st generation box of each game that is being made into a deck of cards. Here are a few examples of the 1st generation 4 line boxes that had "For Color TV Viewing Only" printed in black letters on the front of the box. I think only 10 of these boxes were made. Here agian just a thought and my opinion.

Of course Tutankham would make a great deck.

There is also Football, Basketball, Poker, Checkers

I wasn't looking for a generation of the box images, just showing that some games had both red and blue boxes, like a typical poker night.

I think space armada also had red and blue.

Of course, and sport game / later space game matched with any action network game would do the same thing.

The voice game boxes are very nice too. Imagic game boxes would make for some cool looking cards.

Actually, 2600 pool by imagic is an awesome game box, but lets start with the Intellivision!

Ok guys, I can do whatever you want me too, but I'm gonna need your help, ok? Humblejack, please send me pics from the back of those boxes as well and whatever more boxes you would want on the cards. I'm not an Intellevision expert so I wouldn't know which box is from where or when, I just go with the pics I find on the internet and use the ones that aren't bilingual. If you send me those, it would make the job a lot easier and of course I would be grateful. It could be on PM if you would prefer.

1980gamer same goes to you, whatever box you'd want, send me and I'll do it, ok? For the same reasons above.

I'm still to send pics to the supplier. Which ones would you want finally? It must be an unanymous decision... ;)

    Thanks again

  9. I made some research of my own and with help from coleco_master, I gather some information and by living the 80's came to a final conclusion.

The economy in Brazil was protected due to living in a military government. The market was closed to imported products and so some companies "imported" the games and made as if they were theirs. So this "Sports Game" and "Coleco mania" were some of the companies that sold this games as if they were theirs and made here in Brazil. Not to fool the consumer, but as an alternative from the protected market. It was the same with Atari cartridges.

    Did it make sense?

  10. Hello everybody!!! I purchased some Colecovision Carts and a few have a strange label "Sport Game present video game cartridge". I'm from Brazil and it also says Made in Brazil. I haven't got them yet so I haven't test them, but they are supposed to be: Up n down, Gteway to Apshai and Qbert Cubes. Can anybody give me some information about this label? Could it be that some owner printed to replace or something? Or do you know if some company in Brazil sold them? Maybe bootlegged or so? As soon as I get them, i'll test them and report it back to you.

    Thanks in advance.

  11. I would certainly buy some! :)

And yes, your best bet for everyone would be to send them to one person who would work with you for distribution.

I am sure there will be a fair amount of interest for these, thank you for thinking of them.

If you guys could think of someone who could do that, we can start talking about going ahead with this project.

  12. I'd probably buy a handful of decks at the $7 price range, but shipping (cost and reliability) from Brasil could be an issue. Is it better than Venezuela shipping? :o

I still have to go to the post office to check at the prices range, but I already made some research for a big box to Europe (70 reais half a kilogram and 90 for 1 kilogram, something like 22,00 and 28 dollars) and also checked to send some paperwork (the art for the miniboxes) to NYC and it was around those 28 dollars as well. About reliability the post office are surprisingly decent. I have no idea about shipping from Venezuela, is it that bad?

  13. Yes, that is exactly what I am talking about!

I would would love all 125, but certainly at least 1 set from each network.

I don't think you need to put playing cards on the cover? But that is up to you.

Looks awesome. And I agree, go without "playing cards" on the box. Covers the artwork too much.

I kind of like the text but perhaps a bit smaller and down by the archers feet. This may be a bit off also but I think it would be great to have the bottom flip reflect the "made in...." info also. It may be too hard to do but just a thought.

I would probably buy a complete Activision set of playing cards (Stampede, Pitfall, Happy Trails, Beamrider, River Raid, Worm Whomper, Dreadnaught Factor, League of Light, and Robot Rubble) :D

Guys, are you serious about buying the playing cards? If so I can go around and research where I can order some personalized and check how much it would be and the shipping costs. I think the cards themselves (from a shallow research, and without profit at my part)are gonna be something around 7 bucks, but the shipping costs would be expensive from Brazil, unless I send it all the one person in the US that would then distribute them. What do you think? Are you interested? Should I create a "interest check" topic?

  14. Yes, that is exactly what I am talking about!

I would would love all 125, but certainly at least 1 set from each network.

Yes, I completely agree with you and I regreted the action the moment I added the text on the box, but I wanted to see the reactions...

  15. I hope these will cover it. The SSVA has the same front/back and top/bottom... but the side flaps have slightly different wording.

Let me know if you need more. The box I have is not perfect, but it's above average.

    JR

Yes!!! Those are great!! I'll let you know if I need some specific picture, ok? Did you remember to measure it?

And thank you very much, JR!!! It's really great when people are this helpful. SiLic0ne t0aD said that intellivision guys were the best, and he was right!!!

  16. If these were decks of playing cards, that be awesome!

I thought about having customer playing cards made a few years ago. But if the game box held the cards too.

Yes, I have the Las Vegas Poker and Blackjack cards. But I wish they had made other "games" as well and the box is not the game box.

Would mind to elaborate a little more on that idea? I would love to help and make something like that.

  17. Oh yes, I've seen them. The really small boxes idea is actually genius, because he wont need high quality pictures and can use any pictures you can find on the internet. My idea is different though, the main idea is full boxes (at least art with quality to make full boxes) and then use the result to make mini boxes. And, of course, I don't charge for the result. I send it to whoever asks and it's available for free at leonardobiagi.imgur.com. Even that guy can benefit from that site... (and they only have "easy" boxes, they are lacking the really great ones, the classic gaming ones)

    Thanks for pointing that out.
