when i try to run this, it just opens terminal and says: Last login: Wed Jun 5 19:38:42 on ttys000 Todds-MacBook-Pro:~ tmw$ /Users/tmw/Downloads/atari800-4.1.0-macos/atari800 ; exit; dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/opt/libpng/lib/libpng16.16.dylib Referenced from: /Users/tmw/Downloads/atari800-4.1.0-macos/atari800 Reason: image not found Abort trap: 6 logout Saving session... ...copying shared history... ...saving history...truncating history files... ...completed. [Process completed] It makes me nostalgic for how great altirra is even if I have to run VMWare fusion and install windows. Serioously, this shoul "just run". I suggest you consider altering this so that it actually works.

Also, the back is just open like the front...

Hi. Sure. My preintre only does 145 mm ^3 so I had to cut it into 4 pieces. I had to print these vertically, at 45 degrees to fit them. They are designed to use my as-yet-unreleased connectors to hold the pieces together, so I am not ready to post these to thingerverse. I am including the four pieces in a zip file and here is a link to the tinkercad design of the connectors. (If your printer can do a floppy casae size, just push them together on your slicer and you should be good. If not, you will need to play with the tinkercasd connectors to make sure it will print well on your printer. Here is the link to my flat panel connector on tinkercad. Please do a test print of these components to ensure it will work and/or customize it to work with your printer. https://www.tinkercad.com/embed/3NHdHqjtD8p Drive Case.zip

I was actually kind of looking for filament that is closer in color to XE hardware, but it so hard to tell filament color from a picture on a web site. Has anyone bought filament that printed close to XE color?

Wow. I didnt realize I was creating a spot the difference game. 😀 Yeah, that first drive is dead.

So. When I first got my Kryoflux board, I was too excited to wait and set it up and started dumping disks (These disks aren't getting any newer!!!!) This is what I ended up with: I posted this picture in another thread and someone made a comment about how the trail mix jar was doing a good job holding up the board. Well, after almost 2 months of tweaking 3-D models, (I mean, I'm working on a lot of 3-D projects at once, and, you know, 3-D printers are SLOW...) I'm proud to show off what I have now. A big improvement, I think!

Bought these because some of them appear to be unverified in the A8Pres site. Should have them in the next few days and once I get my "improved" dumping environment set up (Look for a new post on that "soon"...), I will dump and upload. -Todd -
Seems like it wouldn't be any worse than the stock atari cover?

1981 IBM PC (515X) kicking some SERIOUS ass !
toddtmw replied to Faicuai's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
OMG. Make is STOP! I think I'm having seizures! I hated the demo scene back in the 80's and 90's in the 8- and 16-bit Atari daze. I think I'm having an Acid Flashback (© 2019 Atgames, Inc.) and I never actually did any acid. All the hackorz posting their "names" and mocking the "copy protection" software companies used. The loooong horizontal scrolling bouncing soliloquies that just went on and on and on and on... This is the same as all of that... and worse. I mean, kudos for doing that on an old computer, but it's hardly a fair comparison, really. 16-bit registers and address space, along with (what?) 3-4 times the CPU speed? -Todd -
Not a catch. Im still trying to follow all of this.

Why DPDT? Couldn't you just tick a solid wire into the socket, and wire that to one side of SPST and then other side of SPST to the pin?

I live in Ohio, if no one closer offers to dump them, I will. PM me if you want to send them to me. -Todd

Atari 8-bit Software Preservation Initiative
toddtmw replied to Farb's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Id be willing to dump them and send them back to you. (PM me if you would rather go that route.) -
Someone was asking about these in a topic somewhere, but I can't find it. I didn't make this, but I noticed it today. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3626730 This is actually for the 800's that originally had screws. It also has a cover for incognito to make it easier to access the memory card.

Need help: Atari 800XL will not power on
toddtmw replied to Vyncynt's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
One of my favorite exchanges in one of the Star Trek parodies posted on Usenet: Kirk: Bones, help this man, he's injured! McCoy: Damnit, Jim! I'm a doctor not a - oh, right. -
Although, mine had the crappy bubble membrane buttons. I was bummed when they released a version with real buttons. Those worked much bettter.

HEY! That was my first disk drive! And I can tell you it was WAAAY faster than the 410 thaat it replaced and was priced at a point where a kid with a paper route could (eventually) afford it!

Powering RPi Zero through SIO with supercapacitor
toddtmw replied to RockfordDash's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
So, I went looking for how much power an Uno pulls and found this: http://www.home-automation-community.com/arduino-low-power-how-to-run-atmega328p-for-a-year-on-coin-cell-battery/ Powering an uno for 4 years from a 9V battery. (now, that doesn't include the sdrvie screen, but still...) Might be worth looking at for someone more knowldgable about these things than me! -Todd -
Powering RPi Zero through SIO with supercapacitor

This is great. Two questions: 1. can you post a bill of materials (hopefully with links)? 2. what are you running on the Pi Zero? Thank you -Todd -
Sure. Its a program. You can ping anything you want. The point is, did the internet go down? Then reboot it! (You know, reboot the ENTIRE internet!
