  1. Hey guy! I tried to explain you many things for hours but you still don't listen to me. So once again: if you want more colors or more sprites you must use DLI. And if you want to use DLI, you must be able to program in ML. Moreover, you must understand how Atari works. F.
  2. Hi all! Has anyone tried to solve this problem in A8 ML? Any help would be really appreciated! F.
  3. No to teda koukám jako blázen. Všichni ti PéGéové a MaPaové zase něco úžasného dělají a jeden z nich má dokonce tu drzost se tím veřejně chlubit. A nejen to. O dokonce sám sebe chválí. No uvidíme, kdo na koho bude valit bulvy.
  4. This is the best statement I have seen on this forum for months as I'm really pretty tired of all bullshit in other threads (the only exception is Pokey IRQ vs NMI thread). You're my man! F.
  5. Thanks Fandal for trying it out ! *1 never used it before, but will it be important if the game will be loaded from a dos ? Is it enough to put in 2E0-2E1 $2000 where the game code starts ? It's recommended to use RUN or INI block. Some loaders might have a problem loading a binary without RUN/INI block. 2E0-2E1 $2000 is fine enough. Use this code to initialize Pokey: LDA #$00 STA $D208 ; AUDCTL LDA #$03 STA $D20F ; SKCTL Here is complete structure of your binary: $2000-$2C07 ($0C08) $9C00-$9C1F ($0020) $9D00-$9E0D ($010E) $A000-$A058 ($0059) $B40B-$B41C ($0012) $B42C-$B437 ($000C) $B4DC-$B503 ($0028) $B5B0-$B5B8 ($0009) $C134-$C15B ($0028) ; ??? $B793-$B79B ($0009) $B89D-$B8A1 ($0005) $B8C5-$B8CA ($0006) $B8ED-$B8F1 ($0005) F.
  6. Hi! Nice little game! Congratulations! I've just tested it on real HW and I realized that: * there's no INI or RUN block = possible problem * Pokey isn't properly initialized = two channels are playing wrong on real HW * one block is being loaded under OS ($C134-$C15B) F.
  7. Nice conversion!! But I noticed there is some garbage on the screen for one or two frames when you return to the ship. Check the screenshot. This short screen blinking is in original version as well. I just wonder if it can be fixed... F.
  8. Could you send here the cart image you want to hack? F. Here is the .car file. OK. Try this one... F. Cool! The H: drive hack worked with Atari++. I tried it with A8WP and got a file checksum error. Anyway you can fix this also? Thanks, Hayden Loading and saving files work fine for me under Atari800WinPLus 4.0 emulator... F. Did you mean that you got the .car file to load without checksum error? I also tried Atari800 emu and it gave me the same checksum error. Check the attachment for version with fixed checksum. F. 12. Hi! I would like to buy Official Gamer's Guide for Jag. Does it worth buying? And how many guides were released? Just this one? Thanks for your help! F.
  13. Hi Jose! I really admire your effort on this conversion but I'm affraid that you will realize very soon that things are much more complicated. 1) G2F looks like a very good tool for creating gfx on A8 but nice static pictures have nothing to do with a real game using moving objects. G2F uses advantages of Antic 4 mode and handling (big) SW sprites in text modes is very complicated. 2) Last Ninja is a pretty complex game and I think it's impossible to create A8 port without (very) experienced coder. If you don't have one, please don't waste your energy because your project is already dead at this moment. F.
  14. Please add me to the list! F.
  15. Congratulations to the authors! Hopefully English version of Pac-Txt will be released one day as well as bug-free version of G.I.L.P. F.
  16. There is some mentions of cheats though it doesn't say how to activate them. A real coder could probably figure it out fairly easily I would guess. Mitch I found these cheats when I was working on (fixed) file version back in 2006. And here we go: * press CTRL+number for level teleport * SELECT (pause) -> CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER -> SELECT for teleport to the top of tower (don't use on elevators!) F.
  17. Well, file version is possible (for 256 kB machines). May be I'll convert the game into file version in the future but right now I'm pretty flooded with another A8 projects... Try to contact Lance of Video61 if you want to play the game on real HW. May be he could produce some carts with boosted version... F.
  18. A lot of optimalizations have been done on ML instructions level as well as on algorithm level. Fortunatelly original code didn't use RAM under OS so we were able to put some additional code and precalculated tables there. Great! Interesting example of a dramatic increase of performance on original assembler programming. Fandal, could you give some interesting details on your analysis,... for example why the original code render so slow the field? I would say that Mean18 was just unfinished prototype. Raycasting procedures were pretty unoptimized, there's only one course available, the game has no ending (there is just jump to coldstart address) and there're some strange sounds in the title screen. Overall, the game was playable but it was just some beta version. F.
  19. Hi all! I'm really proud to release boosted version of Mean18 golf. We have spent six months with optimizing original code and I think that the result is pretty impressive. Main drawing procedure is now running on +200% speed and the game is finally playable now... Credits: * code optimalization - Bob!k/C.P.U. & Fandal * RMT title tune - PG * optimized music player - Raster. Enjoy! F. Mean18.zip
  20. 60 as well as original version. F.
  21. Wow... it is very nice to see you Fandal! We have missed you around here.. thanks for playing! I just had to participate, River Raid is a must-play game! Hi Fandal, I was wondering if I could get you to come out of retirement as poobah seems to have gone awol I was just reading your blog today (via google's translator) and have downloaded a couple more of your games from your great site to have a look at. Nice to see you here p.s. the really important bit: I can't believe somebody outside Czech Republic reads my blog (which is almost dead). And thanks for nice words! F.
