Slayer 3DO Ultimate NES Remix 3DS Tiny Tower iOS If mobile don't count, then Castlevania Mirror of Fate 3DS

Something happened that inspired this topic: Were there any 3DO games you couldn't play before that you now enjoy? I was never into Slayer. Not a D&D kinda guy, but I do like RPGs in general. I always lauded playing this one. I bought it for the sake of collecting and my first few recent attempts at playing it always left me sorta disappointed. I died a lot and never really knew what I was doing or where I was going. The only good thing I could say about it was that it moved like an FPS at least, and not like some screen-by-screen nightmare (Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder, that sort of thing). That's until yesterday. I caught a cool gameplay video on YT that showed me a couple things I hadn't considered and I ended up playing for 1+ hours last night and I have the itch to get back home and play it again asap. Here's some pro-noob advice: DO NOT create a character, unless you're knowledgeable about AD&D. DO pick a melee class, unless you're knowledgeable about AD&D (with a mage you'll be running away a lot, until you pick up items that help killing baddies) DO use the items you find. Inventory is limited so it's better to use the potions and scrolls as you go than to hoard everything and die with your backpack full. DO hit Select to bring up your map, you'll see the full layout of the floor you're on DO NOT apprehend dying. If it happens, you can re-start with the same items in your inventory and equipment (i think), sort of like New Game+, so you get a proper second chance at finishing that floor you died on. Seriously, choosing a pre-rolled character will guarantee that you will have the required HP to tank hits, the required STR to wield weapons, the required stats to equip armor, etc. The full map also auto-fills as you explore, so it's easy to tell where you have and haven't been, making navigating through the randomly generated mazes much more statisfying. Also, most walls and corridors look similar so the map is a great help there, too. tl;dr choosing to play as a pre-built Fighter and using the map make this game MUCH more enjoyable for me.

Great lot! Some titles there are really representative of the 3DO spirit. There's happy times there for sure.

Good summer for my 3DO collection. I bought a small lot from a French dude on here, too.

Doctor Hauzer 3DO English translation

AKSHUALLY! I played D for the first time this year and I thought it was okay for its time, retroactively lol. I think I wouldn't have bothered if I had played it then, since it's so short. Even if it's super slow. -
I pre-ordered mine a soon as the Walmart Canada made it available. I have a C64 Mini on pre-order, too. I'll be trying to get an Atari Flashback 9 Premium Deluxe Gold Rumble Pepperoni when that comes out. I'm a sucker for these things. You know what my biggest wish is? I wish Nintendo would handle the production of a new SEGA Genesis Classic in lieu of AT Games. Just because.

WTB Lucienne's Quest CIB Longbox
Montrealer replied to Montrealer's topic in 3DO Interactive Multiplayer
Yeah but where you're at it's more like $300 USD. I like RPGs, they used to be my go-to style, but it's more about getting that hot 3DO game on my shelf. Prices ARE rising, so there was no sense in waiting. There's one on eBay as of writing that is sure to sell for about 1,5x that. -

The best 3DO horror games that are still playable today are probably Monster Manor and Killing Time. AitD 1/2 are the type of game you had to be there at the time to appreciate today, unless you're CRAZY about survival horror history. I'd play the original Resident Evil over those any day. -
WTB Lucienne's Quest CIB Longbox

I got one from a french seller. 266EUR shipped, slightly more than $400CAD. Not bad considering the spikes in price that have been happening recently. No expensive videogame is worth its price in terms of gameplay, let's get real. -

Has anyone ever beaten Road Rash?
Montrealer replied to Rick Dangerous's topic in 3DO Interactive Multiplayer
Getting increasingly frustrated with this lol I'm working through level 4, but there's just so much crashing/getting busted I keep reloading over and over. -
I have the sequel but I'm waiting to play the first before I get into it. Kudos on beating that! Did it take long?

I love them. Just gotta find a good PDF of their reviews.

Before I buy - Legit check

I'm sad to report that this was, in fact, a scam. I'm happy to report that a quick phone call to PayPal got me refunded under the Buyer Protection Program, whereas my eBay dispute wouldn't have moved forward before August 9th. Now I got it in me to buy one of those bad boys tho...crap. -
I'll be working on Road Rash lol. If I get too frustrated with it I'll go to a game I know I can knock out and post something within a week or two.

Inspired by the thread about finishing Road Rash. Thread reserved for members to post videos or pictures of 3DO game endings. Simple stuff: beat a game, take a pic or video and post it here. We'll then be able to keep a list of which game(s) we've beaten, and maybe keep track of high scores or times to beat just for kicks. It can spoil some games for people, sure, but it can also serve to satisfy gamers who just couldn't be arsed finishing a game they were playing by showing them the ending they gave up on.

NES and SNES Classics here. Pre-ordered the C64 Classic and in the market for an Atari Flashback 8 Gold Deluxe of sorts.

It is slow. Real slow. Not that it lags or loads too much (ala Lost Eden, guh), it just moves slow. This is mostly an interactive CGI movie right? On a first playthrough, backtracking anywhere quickly becomes annoying. I don't want to spoil anything, but during the part with the QTE, I kept missing my inputs so falling down, getting back and re-starting the QTE scene got old reaaaal quick. One thing I forgot to mention is how weak the plot is. Maybe something got lost in translation, but I doubt that's really the problem. The "reveal" at the end is sort of lame and the weird supernatural/spiritual/possessed madman type of horror doesn't pay off at all. Most puzzles are just there as a hurdle to get over and they don't tie well into the narrative either. It's all very tropey. D was good for its time.
