To use the one with the strange width connector, you should get a ribbon cable that has a cardedge connector on it and wire the thing up like that. As for taking the 2600 apart to use the other one, It's easy to remove the cart slot cover on a 6-switch design. I removed the dust flap on mine so I could play my eprom carts that are socketed. No desoldering is necessary. There are two holes on the sides that you can stick a screwdriver in at an angle to unscrew the cart cover. Here's a pic to clear things up.

@ crsdawg What cocktail game are the boards sitting on? Did you get that with them too? As for the strange board, try using a cart extender. Or remove the casing on your 2600 and plug it in.

Perhaps they are intellivision carts and they resemble m-network carts?

Willems are fine for windows 9x, But unfortunately all of the machines in my house now have XP on them cuz they all crapped out on us and the place we sent them to get them repaired installed XP on them. XP doesn't allow direct access to ports.

If you want to use sega pads on Atari, why use SMS pads? Their blocky as hell and the failure rate of those things is outrageous. It kind of reminds me of when I would play SMB3 for hours and my hands would start to hurt and I wouldn't be able to move my left thumb.

The world would be a better place if everything used SCART and all tv's ran at 60hz. It's a perfect compromise between the two systems. The French would probably be pretty pissed off though cuz they couldn't have their System Essentially Contrary to the American Method, or SECAM for short. The French can seem to win anything. (including wars)

Well, If you have a socket in the board, It won't make a difference. What is the cheapest I can get a programmer for? I mean one that works. I bought a PCB for a Willem from anyway.no-ip and built it. It reads chips fine but It won't program anything. It's probably because I couldn't find the step up convertor chip, the Mc34063. As for an eraser, I'm not sure but aquatics direct has germicidal bulbs. Why are all the eprom burners on Ebay so expensive?!?!?!?!?! The usb ones are like $800! The good ones that are cheap($20.00) are sold by the bastards that make all of their profit on shipping. They charge $30+ for something that shouldn't cost more than $12.00 via usps. I made labels of my own for my eprom carts. Here are a few pics. Not very good pics though, I make my own labels for a lot of things.

I have used a regular old gluestick to reattach labels, but it is hard to get them off again if you need to.

I think that all of the games that she wrote are hard... River Raid may be the only good games she wrote but it's still pretty damn hard! The games she wrote when working at Atari were just fillers for their library. I seriously doubt that anyone extensively plays anything she wrote other than River Raid.

I am currently working on hacking suicide mission back into asteroids, like it was before atari sued starpath about it. However, due to copyright restrictions I wont be able to post it. How can I get around this? I thought about creating a patch but I don't know how... Would it be legal if I just posted the 2600Gfx txt file?

Be careful with that stuff! Make sure that you spread newspapers and protect everything! I got some on my kitchen floor by accident once, When it dried it left this really nasty texture that felt like sandpaper. It took forever to get it off.
