  1. Right then, it's not much of a poll if there's only one choice.

I don't have anything against Q*bert's Qubes, but I don't really care for the 2600 version of Mr. Do!'s Castle. I like the arcade version though.

I had forgotten about Super Cobra and Star Wars: TAG. So the poll choices(revised) are:

    Gyruss :D

    Super Cobra

    Star Wars: TAG

  2. Which type of Bankswitch PCB would you like the most to be available for purchase at the AA store?

    Parker Brothers

    Activision 8K

    Atari 16K w/ SuperChip

    Tigervision

    CBS Ram+

    M-Network

Should companies that still hold the copyrights to games (eg. Activision, Starpath) Offer an Itunes type of service where you can download the roms of their games for a small fee?

    Yes!

    No

  3. Yeah that's right, my bad.

But still, if a lot of homebrews did start using methods of bankswitching that aren't available at the AA store, someone would probably convert them to a different format before selling them.

Let's all start a petition to change this! Who's with me?!

  4. There was one homebrew, Climber 5, I think that used the Superchip. They ripped superchips out of a pile of Dig Dug carts. How did they manage to do that then? Did they sell carts with wires running all through them or something? Let's try to get all the homebrew authors to write games that require the superchip and games that use PB bankswitching. That way, if any of them are to be sold in the AA store, Al and Joe will have to start selling new kinds of boards with PLDs.

  5. John, I have chips.txt, I was trying to figure out how to implement the Superchip's internal mapping in descrete logic like you did on your site for E0, F8, and F6.

    @Mitch

I already saw John's site, (it's in my favorites folder). What I meant by that is, why doesn't the AA store sell PLDs and boards that do the PB and Tigervision bankswitching methods? Just blank ones like the ones they sell for F8, F6, and F4 Bs methods?

  6. Does anyone know how the superchip maps itself into the memory? If we can come up with an easy way to do the superchip's mapping, we could submit it to the AA store and see if they would be willing to sell it....

The same goes for the PB and tigervision bankswitching methods....

  7. Does anyone have or know where I can find scans of the Radio Electronics magazine issues that feature the schematics for the Atari Game Recorder? I would like to attempt to build it, or at least see how Makewav was implemented in hardware.

  8. ....Someone wanting a 1:1 conversion of Gun Fight, Star Fire or Sea Wolf can fire up MAME any time....

But when using MAME, you lose some of that nostalgic feeling, I prefer sitting on my ass in front of the TV with a wrist-breaking joystick over sitting at my computer with a keyboard.

    One word: Stelladaptor.

Even with a stelladaptor, it's still not the same as playing it on the original hardware. Besides, emulators aren't perfect.
