Just talked to CPUwiz, he says that all the superchip games have the chip and the rom separate....
-
Oh, ok thanks. A person in the marketplace (cough)5-11under(cough) told me that dig dug was the only one that had a separate chip.
-
Is it possible to use a regular Sram chip and a handful of descrete logic chips to implement the superchip's mapping? Since it is possible to do the tigervision, pb, f8, and f6 bankswitch modes in descrete logic, I thought it might be possible to do the superchip's bankswitch. It would be very handy since dig dug is the only game that I know of that has a separate superchip inside.
-
Oh, they are? Well I need the separate chip.......
I am currently negotiating with someone else right now, I'll post if it doesn't work out....

Sounds like your tab broke off.....
Just get some krazy glue and some wood and make the thing that pushes the button down longer....
Or you could just remove the button and replace it with a piece of wire, so that when you want to go to the menu, just don't put a game in.
-
Ummm..... I think that the goal was to make it as similar to the arcade version as possible with the 2600's capabilties....
-
I don't think that PSones are very reliable...
I went through three that died on me before I decided to get a PS2.
-
All righty I get it. ONe prob though the page says Add $10 to get the controller. Do I have to click somwhere or what? I'm not seeing the option to get it.-Tim
I would guess that when paying for the game, you add $10.
I.E. instead of paying $35 with paypal or whatever, pay $45.

I am looking for any of the 2600 games that have the superchip in them, I don't care what the game is or anything, all I want is a functional Superchip for my multicart. Please PM me.
A list of games that have the superchip can be found in sizes.txt

Hey Thomas, did you see my post on using the ball sprite to smooth out the diagonals on tempest?
-
Oh......
Well, it was a thought.
I was just trying to think of good games that aren't on the 2600 that have music by Rob Hubbard....
-
Has anyone every attempted to port Delta from the C64 to the 2600?
I know that Thomas is good at doing ports from looking at his work on Thrust+.
Is anyone up to it?
-
Would it be possible to use the ball sprite to make the diagonals look better like they did in pole position? If someone could do this, it could be sold in the AA store as a reproduction...
-
It plays perfectly on my supercharger, Great job! I agree with the lack of enemy fire, Perhaps there could be ships on the top level that drop depth charges when you miss and your torpedo goes to the surface....
If this was available in cart form for a decent price I would definitely buy a copy!

As soon as the last part of my eprom programmer (power converter chip) gets here (before the week is out), I'll test it out!
My goal is to have a multicart for every bankswitching format.
Sorry to bother you so much...
As soon as school lets out, I'll have a nearly infinite ammount of free time so I'll be able to help out a lot of people....

Is it possible to convert a game from one bankswitching scheme to another? I was hoping that it would be possible to convert the PB games to a simpler format, such as F8......

My hands are starting to hurt...
I need to get one of those gamepads....
-
Jsoper, did you ever figure out the tigervision bankswitch scheme? It would be great to see schematics of it so I can try it if you don't have time to test it.

-
Umm, the supercharger games are still copyrighted....
So, we might get our asses sued off by Bridgestone Multimedia, the current owner of the Starpath games.
So....I think I'll pass on this one....
-
What kind of bankswitching is HSR going to use? Would it be possible to create a new kind of bankswitching that uses 64K? That might prove usefull if space being needed.
-
Do something like frogger with sound effects for the music....

-
Did you glue a piece of wood on the side or what? Radio Shaft project boxes come in black plastic and metal....

SuperChip Bankswitching

I didn't mean to offend you or anything, I was just trying to make sure that I wouldn't end up with a game that I didn't need and without a superchip that I would be able to use in my multicart.
I am not sure if Pal games have separate superchips or not, I wouldn't know because I don't live in a Pal region. I am relatively sure that Ntsc games have separate superchips.
