  1. Why would anyone pay $7 for a circuit board with jumpers on it?
  2. Something similar to the original Duke Nukem would be awesome, and I'm pretty sure that the Commodore 64 could do something like it.
  3. I'm familiar with a lot of good platform games for the C64, but don't know enough about the Apogee games you want them compared with. Could you just describe the essential gameplay elements you're interested in? Horizontal and vertical scrolling? Some shoot-em-up elements? Collecting stuff? Small puzzle solving? Power-ups? 859914[/snapback] You can download the shareware versions of all their old games on their website. http://3drealms.com/downloads.html Jump and run, shoot-em-up, those kind of things.
  4. Are there any good platform games for the c64, like Apogee's early pc games?
  5. I'm not saying that you should put on porn and watch it with your 3-year-old, I'm trying to say that as they get older, you have to be a little less restrictive. It's kind of like how in Greece, they drink alcohol with virtually every meal, and there is no need for an age limit there, because they are used to it. My opinion is that people(especially kids), are more inclined to do something if they aren't supposed to do it.
  6. I think that parents need to stop trying to shield their children from violence and other things. The children of overprotective parents tend to be social outcasts. They are going to be exposed to it anyways, the younger they are exposed to it, the less traumatic the reaction to it will be later in life. If a child is completely shielded from porn(as an example), they will be more likely to try to download it behind their parent's back. No one wants to live a sheltered life.
  7. Thats's normal, most 2600 games do that. I don't know exactly how to explain it, but I think it is because of the way the video is generated. Someone with more knowledge could explain it better.
  8. I have the chips that I need to build a coleco telstar combat, but I can't find the pinout or schematics anywhere. AY-3-8700-1 Brand-new, Unused.
  9. I like it because of the efficiency that was necessary to get anything useful done, as well as the fact that I don't have to worry about it being obsolete before I open the box.
  10. This has already been done partways, it's called the Xbox. The only thing it needs is the game dev software. Other than that, it's an outdated computer in an ugly box.
  11. Guess this one: Zig zag up screen, shoot, don't get hit, repeat
  12. Maybe do the players with background graphics, ala karate or swordfight?
  13. I don't care if it doesn't fit in a cartridge case, as long as it works, I'm happy. Maybe make the board longer and saw the back of the cartridge case off.
  14. I tried to create a frontend for z26 with Borland Visual C++Builder. It worked alright, but the way I did it was kind of wastefull. Since I couldn't figure out how to get the drop down lists to work, I had a button for each game, which took up a lot of space. It was simple to do, you could set it up so that when you push a button on the interface, it would run an executable, and you could set what parameters you wanted to run it with.
  15. Would one of these work? http://www.intersil.com/power/hotplug.asp
  16. Can I have your 2600 libraries for eagle?
  17. It sounds like you didn't solder the ground of the cable to the ground of the system. It won't work unless you solder the shielding of the wire to ground.
  18. 128 mario's was a tech demo used to show what the gamecube could do. The concept was eventually evolved into Pikmin. I don't care for SMB2 because it wasn't really a mario to begin with.
  19. It'd would be simple enough to do if you just take a drive bay cover and cut a hole in it the size of a cartridge, then sort of make your own case. A dead CD-Rom case would probably be fine.
  20. if you hold down reset at the start screen, the crab turns into a turtle.
  21. If I build the through hole design, I would put the external programmer in a free drive bay on my computer, I think that would look really cool. Plus, you can pull power from the pc's power supply.
  22. Yeah, battlezone is pretty.... I like the unfinished prototype of sweat on the supercharger. http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/s...sweat/sweat.htm
