  1. I learned to play somewhat from a miracle. My parents had bought a special set that came with a computer version, an NES cart, and the keyboard and cables.

I played the NES version a couple of times, I didn't like it very much.

I did like the computer version a lot though.

  2. I don't need any disks, as i have a whole bunch of pc formatted 5 1/4 disks as I posted in the classic gaming general forum.

@ Voch, any 5 1/4 disk will work, all you have to do is reformat it to commodore formatting, see my other post.

@susuwatari, there is a better way to ship drives, look here.

  3. Maybe the rf signal isn't strong enough.....

Using the phono to coax adaptor, connect the atari to the antenna input on a vcr, and connect the output of the vcr to your tv. Turn the atari and vcr on, and change the vcr to channel 2 or 3, if that doesn't work, then use the vcr's auto channel setup, making sure the atari is on before you start. You could also try running the atari through your cable box and using it as an amplifier.

Finally, try replacing the rf cable in your atari with a different one. You should also check all of the solder joints for dry joints, it might be a bad connection.

  4. You're not trying to use an auto switching adaptor are you? the signal may not be strong enough. Try connecting the phono-to-coaxial adaptor to the antenna input on your TV. that may help....

  5. I have a whole bunch of old 5 1/4 floppies from an ancient pc, I know that pc and commodore 64 formatting is different, is it possible to reformat the disks to commodore 64 formatting? It would be nice if I didn't have to buy a whole bunch of disks that are already formatted, cuz I have a small budget.

  6. Dammit! So does this mean that having a sweet-ass state-of-the-art-when-you-but-it-but-obsolete-when-you-get-it-hooked-up graphics card won't help make wargods run any faster? If that is the case then what's with all of the 3d options in mamewin?

  7. Be careful, ebay has a tendency to pull anything that looks like a pirate, though they're not very good at determining which things are pirates.

There was a post in another part of the forum where some dumbass on ebay was trying to sell a whole bunch of obvious atari 8-bit pirates, (generic 5 1/4 floppies with the title hand-written in sharpie) someone even reported it to the bigwigs there and they responded that there was no proof that the disks were pirated.....

  8. Oh, that's just a mic and a speaker connected together, that plugs into your pc soundcard. I don't think that there are any adaptors for usb, there are special codecs and chips that are necessary. You're better off just buying a headset designed for the PS2.
