  1. Woohoo found a Supercharger at the used toy store! Great way to celebrate Atari's 40th!

  2. the 800xl works...although I'm going to have to open it up and look to look at the ram as it's not showing a full three lines of green squares (no red though).

Ooh good thought. Maybe my option is sticking

  3. now to create hacks for every game that ever used a spacebar for a second button.. lol
  4. This Multijoy sounds awesome. I'm bummed because my understanding is that nearly all of this stuff is PAL
  5. weird how activision did the 2600 port and atari did the 7800 port for commando.
  6. Hey... so I have two bricked 7800's. Does anyone have a 7800 with a damaged case (or perhaps even with no case) that works perfectly otherwise that they'd like to sell for cheap?
  7. I have it for the 2600, but haven't played it yet.
  8. Got my 800XL, now waiting on an AC adaptor. woot woot!

Hope it really works and wasn't fried due to someone plugging the wrong adapter into it. :-)

I've seen a few lists, but they never seem to delineate cartridge vs floppy vs cassette. Apparently for some floppy games a fix is a floppy translator patch. I don't think there is a cartridge fix.

it works! now to get the bigger/better/safer best electronics adapter... I bought a cheapy one on ebay because I didn't want to go all out if the 800xl didn't work (it wasn't tested).

  10. Here's a question... Does anyone know if the Atari light guns work on the commodore 64? I know that the 64 has around 8 or so lightgun games and it would probably motivate me to buy one from BEST electronics to know that if had another use besides the 7800 and XE games
  11. I was looking for a visible difference between 4 and 5 so I looked carefully at the keys and I noticed that the number 4 is styled differently between them so I figured I'd share.
  12. well, the 7800 shielding seems a bit more annoying than most.. lol
  13. they aren't connected in the front though. look closely. I see what appears to be more than 2 rcas, 1 joystick and 1 power coming out of the console on the far right. I think this system is modded to work with the 1702 Chroma/luma/audio). Which is why I posted it in this discussion.
  14. A friend took this in 2015. looking at the 2600's, it appears that there are multiple rca cords (like 4) coming out of the back.
  15. I have centipede for the 5200, 7800, c64 and colecovision and love it. If you don't have a trakball controller you should try to pick one up. I've never played it on the 2600 though. I plan on getting it this year since my 7800 pooped out and I'll probably be able to pick up the 2600 game before I can another 7800. One thing I really like about the 7800 version is it has a cooperative setting where you can play with someone else on the screen as well. It's the only version I've seen with that feature.
  16. Thanks for doing a positive video on the 5200. I find the dismissive 5200 videos on youtube annoying. I can never play just one game of Robotron.. lol.. I finally got a second bohoki adapter so I'm looking forward to trying a bunch of my games with a digital pad. If it was a perfect world the 5200 version of centipede would have a cooperative version like the 7800. That is something I've missed out on since my 7800 died (playing with my 9 year old daughter).
  17. Delta Space Arena looks fun.... Like a bouncy Asteroids.
  18. Hey all... I have three bad roller controller buttons. I opened up the case and cleaned the crap out of them with deoxit to no effect (that stuff saved my regular controller buttons for sure). Anybody have experience in this area?
  19. Do you just leave the RF shielding off after mods or do you do the effort to put it back on? I left one off and it seems like the board takes a lot more stress from just removing carts when I left my shielding off. It might be in my head but I recently had that 7800 stop working and think that might of had something to do with it. My other theory is that the power button just went bad since I've read that that happens a lot on 7800's and I've already tested the AC adaptor on another 7800 and it works fine.
  20. Hah I'm so slow on this. The 5200 is one of my favorite systems. I got my original system by trading all of my transformers for it with my Step-brother. Now I'm on my second and I have a couple dozen games as well as the trackball. I love this thing! So yes add me!
  21. [quote name="atari_envy" post="1975167" timestamp="1269885843 Here is something weird though with my Starplex. I think that it must be a problem with the cart -- How could a controller cause a game/system to freeze? So I buy a loose copy of Astroblast but have the same problem. Has anyone else experienced this, or am I the lucky one? I have a similar problem with fast food with a Wico controller works ok on others. You might want to open up your controller and see if any contacts are touching. Because I know I did a wire fix before noticing the problem on my Wico controller and it might not have been a perfect job.
  22. so hey... I have a similar problem. only one of my roller controller buttons works (off and on) I took it apart and I can't say I know what you are talking about as far as grey parts. I see four little switches that look like white cubes with black tops. Did you mean that you took the black tops off of those and there was grey underneath?
