I'm playing on a real console, it's a light sixer, it does have a composite mod, using harmony encore. I'm able to play the game (using demo 2 above) for at least 5-10 minutes but eventually (and perhaps randomly, but it seems like when starting combat) it will just go to black screen suddenly.
So far it has happened to me twice during a game, on both demos, after I've had several successful fights.
Great game btw, and very playable.

Getting crashes randomly in combat with Demo 2 the whole screen goes black and I have to restart

Are you gonna allow us to flee from combats ? That was one thing that made the early ultimas more playable when it was introduced in U4.
Also how does saving work... is there saving ?

Just played it on a harmony cart. I gotta say, this one is so good I really want it on dedicated cartridge (to go with Galaxian) as soon as it's available. Nice job !

Hey if you're looking for any Beta testers, (prior to a public release) let me know. I'm interested and I am running via Harmony Encore on real hardware. I can run the world demo fine.
Found Richard Garriott (I assume) in the secret room
One thing as an Ultima fan I'd like to suggest - one of the hallmarks of the Ultima games was the attract sequence on the title page which consisted of a short battle scene or (in the case of Ultima V) parts of the storyline using the games graphics. I think if that's possible that would be quite a bit cooler than a static art page like now.
This is seriously impressive btw.

I just wanted to drop in to say some of the comments on this thread are atrocious.
I am glad I don't know some of you in real life !

Gylygy reminds me of Syzygy, Atari's first name

There's now since 2016 an arcade port of Galaga to the PS4. Which is nice.
I would still love a 2600 version although it seems impossible.
I didn't know there is a new Galaga arcade machine called Galaga Assault that came out last year.

I'm going to play the original soon. Not that many people outside this hobby in the public know about these home-brews, some public visibility would be nice.

I used to play this on the 7800 in the late 80s. Before I got the nintendo ( I got it several years late due to my parent's financials.).
This was by far my favorite game on that system, and to have it on the 2600 in a version this good is amazing. Just found out about it.
Can we make custom carts for it ? Did anyone setup a proper label ?

I don't have any of the games he mentions but I will try them out to see.
Not really had any issue like this one before on other games. Bit of a bummer tho.
I am not having problems powering on my console tho, so I don't know if that's related.
