  1. I would definitely give the PayPal process a try. The one time that I had to use it, they came thru for me to the tune of $70! I was amazed. I got the standard email stating that they would contact the seller and determine if he could prove that he shipped the item. If not, they would try to recover the funds from his PayPal acct, but if he had no funds in the account.... etc, etc. I figured that it was a lost cause and they would never get the cash out of him, but they did within 2 weeks! Don't know what the percentage is that they are able to recover the funds, but it doesn't cost you anything to try. You need to do it soon, though. After 30 days they can't / won't do anything.
  2. Did the Jr come with the all black version like the Vader or did they go back to the orange trim version?
  3. Thanks to all. Got ahold of defender and he was glad to hear from me! I think the ID change did screw up the email thru Ebay thing! Anyway, thank goodness that AA is here or defender and I might have ended up swapping negs that neither of us deserved!
  4. Thanks gamerz. I'll send a PM his way. Like I said, I didn't want to jump to any conclusions. I know I've gotten busy and forgotten a thing or fifty in my day!
  5. I just noticed that he changed his ID on Wednesday. Used to be multimedia1 Maybe changing his ID has something to do with the email bounce?
  6. videogamesdeal On Sunday he won the CX2600A that I had listed and I haven't heard a word from him. I sent him an invoice on Sunday evening, then a payment reminder yesterday afternoon, and this evening I sent a personal email trying to make sure that he had received the invoice and the mail was bounced with this message: 553_sorry,_your_envelope_sender_is_in_my_badmailfrom_list_(#5.7.1) His feedback is reasonable at 98.6 and a fair number of his negs seem to have either been resolved or been the buyers fault to begin with. Didn't really anticapate any problems with this sale and I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it sure looks like he's gonna bail on me. Any thoughts? Should I just give him the typical 10 days and then re-list and file a NPB? Until I got the bounced email with that reason, I kept figuring he was just busy and that I'd hear from him any day.
  7. Thanks, CPUWIZ! Now that I know, it's easy to see that!
  8. Won a lot with several items that I didn't have. A rainbow Jr and several games that I didn't have. (Including Track and Field). But what is the 'cartridge adapter' thingy they talk about. Picture #2 shows it best. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBWN%3AIT&rd=1 Maybe they just threw in a random thingy to get the curiosity bid!
  9. I guess the German postal service must not pay enough! http://www.cnn.com/2004/TECH/internet/04/2...l.ap/index.html
  10. Pretty generous of them to have free shipping though, don't ya think!
  11. Nothing personal, I assure you guys. My luck may just be the worst, but every time I ship internationally, it seems to either get lost (twice) or take about 2 months to arrive (twice) or the shipping cost far more than the bidder expected so I end up relisting (once). Any other U.S. sellers have similar problems?

    Boxed or not?

One of the things I'm enjoying most about this site is the great mix of people and approaches to the hobby. We've got collectors for the sake of collecting, collectors going for a particular segment, pure gamers who just love to play the games and seek out those games they enjoy most... and probably a host of other niches and peculiarities. I love to collect and also to play my old favorites. I guess my priorities look like this. 1) Do I have the game yet? 2) Rarity (only really matters to me if 6 or above. Guess this really is another reflection of #1, huh) 3) Condition and completeness (label, box, manual) 4) How much fun is the game or is this one I haven't played before. As I 'upgrade' the completeness or condition of a game that I already have, the extra goes in my trading fodder or eBay stack. Boxed games that I really enjoy and play a lot, I keep an extra one loose in one of those neat Atari game centers that I use with my console. My advice is to determine what is important to you and then apply the necessary measures of persistance and patience to make the hobby as enjoyable as it can be for you.
  13. Negative APB!!! Those are the ones that you pat on the head, offer them a cup of tea, and say 'Now if you find any more games, you just bring them on over...'.
  14. Shameless Bump.... Ends on Sunday afternoon and still going cheap!
  15. To be more exact... I actually had an Obelix delivered to my door! I had picked up a 'Vader', 20 or so carts, and a box of controllers at a garage sale just down the street from me for $20. That was a couple of weeks ago, and the other day, the lady showed up at my door with another box of carts and a so-so Tron controller. She said 'I found some more games, would you give me another $20 for these?'. I didn't have a Tron controller and I did a quick count of about 30 carts in the box, so I figured even if they were all 1's, it would be a really good deal. Later that evening, as I was sorting and testing, I found it!! Label is nearly perfect with only very minor scuffing! The rest of the carts were all super common, but that's still the best deal I've ever found!!
  16. Thanks to all for the good tips on searching. Based on this, do you think it is better to list under Video Games/Vintage Games or under Video Games/Games (or Systems or whatever.) given that the vintage game section doesn't give you the chance to fill in item specifics when selling. I sure hate the thought of paying eBay double listing fees to put it both places. I'm curious to see where most people here list. When I search, I usually search at the top level of video games for the Atari keyword. This does pick up a lot of clutter, but doesn't miss much.
  17. The only one better than the original CX40 is the Epyx 500XJ. At least that's my greatly sought and highly respected opinion!
  18. Nothing special, but it would be a good starter for someone just starting a collection. No Reserve. I takes what I gets! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MESSE%3AIT&rd=1
  19. Not rich by a long shot, but extremely patient! 'All' is a HUGE word when collecting. I'm just trying to find as many different games as possible that were sold in North America. I try for boxed games when possible, but the real fun is finding a game I don't have yet even if it's super common. Thanks for the welcome aboard. This seems like a very good site with lots of good info and good people.
  20. Hello everyone. I'm DaveWake and I've been enjoying browsing the forums here for a couple of months now. I've been collecting classic video games for about 3 years and have recently begun to concentrate on the Atari 2600 especially. Just bought this auction last night and was glad to get 4 boxed games that I didn't have yet. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBWN%3AIT&rd=1
