Looks like this is o.k., as long as the listing has multiple available so eBay still gets their cut on each sale. From eBay's help pages Offering choices By using listings with variations, sellers can offer variations of the same product in a single listing. Allowed Using listings with variations to offer a choice of size, color, and material in items such as clothing and home items Not allowed Selling different brands of an item, such as jeans, in a single listing Offering a choice between two entirely different items, such as a watch or pair of shoes Selling items that aren't in similar condition, such as a new and a refurbished laptop, in the same listing

I thought it was against eBay's rules to do a 'choice' auction. Did they change that?

Tomorrow, March 25th marks the first day of GameGavel's third year! Way to go Mike! So I say..... Let’s get GameGavel’s 3rd Year Started With a Bang! Contest: During April 2010, sell $50 or more of fixed price listings on GameGavel and have your name entered in a drawing to win $50 credit toward a GameGavel purchase from seller oldgames. Two prizes will be awarded. Rules: 1. Listings must be fixed price (starting price and buy price the same). 2. Mike, the GameGavel owner, will determine eligibility. Once you have sold $50 worth, simply message me (oldgames) and I will send the list of qualifiers to Mike. He will verify your fixed price sales total and enter your name in the drawing. 3. Mike will also do the drawing for the winners. 4. One entry per member. 5. Prize must be used within 30 days of the announcement of winners 6. Prize must be used on a single order. Multiple items may be purchased on this single order. FAQ: Do relists count? Yes, any fixed price listing that sells during April 2010 will count toward your $50. If I sell $100 worth do I get 2 entries? No, each member that qualifies will be entered one time. All members who qualify will have an equal chance to win. Why is this based on sales rather than # of listings? This is to encourage listings at reasonable prices that will generate sales. As traffic to the site grows, having a good variety of reasonably priced items is very important. Why are only fixed price listings eligible? Mike has added a fantastic feature to the site that sends a daily feed of fixed price listings to Google Base which makes these items appear in the Google Shopping area. My traffic has increased dramatically since this feature was added. The more products from GameGavel that appear in the Google shopping area, the more traffic will continue to grow on the site. More traffic = More sellers will be attracted. More Sellers = Greater selection of gaming goodness. More selection = More customers….. and the cycle continues. Why is the prize only good for purchases from seller oldgames? I’m providing the prizes. I’m hoping that once you get your order and see the quality of my products and service that you’ll become one of my regular customers. Who is eligible? Any GameGavel member in good standing (fees paid up to date) with the following 2 exclusions: Contest Sponsor: (oldgames) and GameGavel Owner: (gamegavel, socalmike). I want to give GameGavel a try, but I’m not a member yet. How do I sign up? Go to www.gamegavel.com and click on the Register link at the top of the page. In order to sell, you’ll need to have a credit card on file. What items can I list for this contest? Any items permitted on GameGavel are eligible to count toward this contest. Again, the listings must be fixed price (starting price and buy price the same) If I win, what can I buy with my prize? Any items listed by oldgames. There are no exclusions. You may apply the prize to multiple items, but they must all be purchased on a single order within 30 days of contest end. How do I claim my prize if I win? Once you have sold $50 or more in fixed price listings during April, simply message me and I will send your entry to Mike to verify your sales total and enter your name in the drawing. Winners will be notified during the first week of May 2010. Once this notification is sent, you will have 30 days to place a GameGavel order with oldgames totaling $50.00 or more (including shipping charges). The $50.00 will be deducted from the total of the invoice for this order and you will pay the balance, if any, by either PayPal or US postal service money order as with any other purchase.

Activision Blue label carts. Any difference in Box and manual?
oldgames replied to oldgames's topic in Atari 2600
Thanks, CPU. I wondered about the B/W manuals. This should give me enough info to at least make a good effort to match these up with appropriate boxes and manuals. Dave -

Activision Blue label carts. Any difference in Box and manual?
oldgames posted a topic in Atari 2600
Hi, Are there differences between the box / manuals for the blue label Activision games and their standard label counterparts? I've looked at the box and manual scans here, but I wonder if they represent the box and manuals for the different labels or are more generic. Thanks in advance, Dave -
Are these extra hits creating more sales? Is there any data on that? That would be cool to see also. I can't speak for others, but even though I don't have any fixed price auctions to directly benefit from Google base I am seeing a marked increase in traffic and sales. I suspect part of this increase may be due to Google Base drawing more traffic to the site in general. Once there, people tend to look around. I think I am going to start doing some fixed price listings together with my auctions to get even more benefit from this feature that Mike has provided for his sellers. I've always been a big supporter of GameGavel / Chuckwagon, but I'm more optimistic now than ever. Mike can comment on my next suggestions as I wouldn't want anything to jeopardize the Google Base feeds which seems to be helping traffic on the site. For such things as A/V mods, custom painting, etc which do not violate the spirit of the rules against pirated goods or mods designed to circumvent restrictions intentionally put in place by the manufacturer, I would suggest the following type of wording for the listings. Atari 2600 with A/V upgrade Custom painted SNES I wouldn't think this type of thing would get picked up as a violation by Google Base. I also can't imagine anyone viewing these kinds of enhancements as being in any kind of 'grey area'. These are very innocuous modifications that do not alter the units basic functionality.

That makes over 160 Genesis games and over 450 listings altogether. Please have a look and see if there's anything you like. The link is in my signature.

Actually, my biggest 2600 disappointment was selling my 2600 to my sister so I could buy a Colecovision. The Colecovision was ok, but I didn't find it to be any more fun than the Atari. Luckily, I was able to buy it back a couple of years later.

Does the post office know when to quit?
oldgames replied to shadow460's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Those sending cartridges from the US to Canada should check First Class International Parcel. You can ship up to 4 lbs and the price is MUCH cheaper. I don't know if there is a size limit or not, but I sent a package to Shawn that was exactly 4 lbs (had to trim the inner flaps on the mailing box to shave off the last quarter ounce) and this box was not very big, so I think the weight will go over 4 lbs before any size restriction is reached. Also, my post office had an official memo posted for a while that specifically stated that video game cartridges were not eligible for Media Mail. -

Same here, it looks like the one pound Priority Mail rate is no longer fixed. Not a big surprise, they did the same thing with the two pound rate several years ago. ..Al I'm the one who loads and maintains the rates for our manifest where I work. For the last few years: Priority and Express get new rates in January. First Class and Parcel Post get new rates in May. This time they also changed the way they price 1 lb Priority Mail packages. Last year, 1 pound anywhere in the States was 4.95. Now it varies by zone. Zones L thru 2 are 4.90, zone 3 is 4.95, zone 4 5.05, and it goes up from there. jetset must live a few zones away from you. These are the Post office rates, on-line postage still gets a small discount. It sucks for sure. After I loaded them in our test environment, I rated a 1 lb package to my home address (15 miles away). I saw 4.90 and said Cool! the rates went down. Then I rated a 1 lb package to our California office and said 'Crap!'. That's when I pulled up the actual rate tables to see the changes really were. -
I don't know what it'd bring, but Lords of Conquest is a Great game! Anyone with a C= needs to have this one.

If you're talking about the partially hidden one at the very bottom, my guess would be Pele's Soccer

Even though you were refunded, you can still file a 'non performing seller' complaint if you think the seller backed out due to the ending price. Just as buyers are bound by their bid, sellers are bound by their listings. Search eBay help for 'non performing seller' or post on the eBay forums (probably the Bidding or Buyer Central boards) for instructions on how to file this complaint. It is about the same as a non-payment strike for bidders.

Just did another good deal with Ax. Now I've got a Yobo! LOL. Also had several other good transactions with him on Game Gavel / Chuckwagon.

FS: $7 SNES Decks & $7 NES Clones with everything & games
oldgames replied to the.golden.ax's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
PM sent for the silver Yobo. I've been wanting to try one of the clones for a while now, but have been to lazy/cheap to get one. Thanks for posting these, Ax. -
Thanks for the info, everyone. I figured this was the case, but I wanted to be sure. I'll pass this along to the person who bought the system. Maybe they've got a conventional T.V. they could use for the NES. Dave

Hi, I have a someone who bought an NES from me and is using it with an newer LCD T.V. Everything works except the zapper. I've heard that the zapper won't register on an LCD T.V. Can anyone confirm this and if so, is there any aftermarket zapper replacement that will work? TIA, Dave
