  1. Oh, yeah. That's another one. I've got versions of the various Doom titles for PC, PSX, Saturn, N64, SNES, 32X, Jag, GBA, and Xbox. I've got expansion packs, the movie on DVD, figurines, comics, novels...
  2. I only use Tomb Raider as my example because it's the most recent. I was never into the games during their PSX heyday. It was only some time last year, when I realized that the series was something that could be realistically completed (getting at least one version of every game), that I started in and it ballooned (no pun intended) from there after Legend proved to be so good. I have several other game-related obsessions, including: Star Wars, Atari (any variety), Resident Evil and The Legend of Zelda. Ah, you see, using any kind of reason goes against the obsession concept. If you can't bring yourself to buy Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi or Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing, it's just infatuation. Yes, that's more like it. Obsession knows no bounds of quality or function.
  3. Spider-Man 3 had the widest release ever for a film and parlayed that into the highest weekend gross ever ($148M). Were you one of the multitudes who saw it from May 4 - 6?
  4. I agree. It looks like the percentages are being calculated from the total number of responses. They should be calculated based on the total # of people replying, i.e. 50 out of 55 people have a 2600 for 91%. A valid point. Unfortunately, that's just the way the software works, so there's buggerall I can do about it.
  5. Oooh! Multiple answers! Click all that apply. Any version of each system qualifies. Only caveat: must be Atari branded. No Sears Telegames or Coleco Geminis.
  6. Since people are mentioning it, I'll say that I have about 125 games for the GCN, about 90 for the DC, about 65 for the Xbox and about 25 for the PS2.
  7. Men called me mad! But I'll prove them wrong!!!!! I get just about every system there is eventually, and I'm far from rich. It's just that there are always exclusive games on each system that make that system eventually necessary. Of the last gen, I have: Japanese Dreamcast bought two weeks before the US launch (it was over a year before I could play US games on it). Bought it for the still exclusive SoulCalibur and never regretted it. (Other key exclusives: Shenmue, Godzilla Generations). Xbox bought because I got the green "Halo" model at a nice price. Only a few essential exclusives (Star Wars: KOTOR, for instance), but non-GCN titles usually were better on Xbox than PS2, so I need it for stuff like Godzilla: Save the Earth and Star Wars: Battlefront. GameCube, bought not too long after launch because I enjoyed Luigi's Mansion so much. Key exclusives are just about everything Nintendo published, plus Star Wars: Rogue Squadron II and Resident Evil / 0 Now, I do not currently have a PS2, but I do have several titles from series I collect, such as Star Wars: Super Bombad Racing and Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. The PS2 also has Activision Anthology, so I'll get one eventually. But not yet.
  8. I'll never get rid of my GCN, only because of the awesomeness that is the Game Boy Player.
  9. Okay, how about the last go-round? Who's got what?
  10. Not for the purposes of this poll. Handhelds can be considered consoles by some, but they are clearly in a separate category.
  11. Sorry I missed last week. These things happen. Anyway, looking beyond the classics, which of the "current gen" consoles do you currently own?
  12. As nominated in this thread, what do you think was the best 2600 homebrew released in the AtariAge store in 2006? The nominees are: Conquest of Mars from John W. Champeau E.T. Book Cart from Charles F. Gray and Michael Rideout Four Play from Zach Matley with music from Bob Montgomery Lady Bug from John W. Champeau Medieval Mayhem from Darrell Spice Jr. with graphics from David Vazquez and music from Erik Ehrling Toyshop Trouble from John Payson, Zach Matley, Bob Montgomery and Thomas Jentzsch with graphics from Nathan Strum
  13. WHOOPS! I've given the two votes that FF V had to FF VI under the assumption that it is the one they meant. If that's wrong, let me know.
  14. This week, it's the big ape himself, Donkey Kong. Only going with the games that feature his name in the title.
  15. Yoshi's Cookie is not a spinoff, since Mario is a playable character. It was in last week's poll.
  16. Covering most of the remaining mario games, let's see what you think of these titles.
  17. I eliminated my own favorite arcade game from the Mario series, Donkey Kong, Jr.. But it had to be done...
  18. seconded. MP4 is my favorite. MP6 is a close second. There is a limit of five questions at a time. Just wait for round two...
  19. It actually draws from all the previous Mario Karts. While it probably takes the most from MK64, it has, for instance, fully 3D character models, unlike MK64's pre-rendered sprites. Levels, power-ups and kart abilities come from all throughout the series and there's lots of new stuff, too.
  20. Those are just updated versions of previous games (Mario Bros. 1, 2, 3 & Lost Levels), not truly new titles. Again, I've only got so many choices. I've got to cut it off somewhere. If I counted 'All-Stars' as a separate title, where do I draw the line? Is Super Mario Bros. DX separate? What about Super Mario 64 DS?
  21. Time to hit the main man Mario. Since he's been in, like, a billion games, I've decided to do my first multiple question poll. I'm still not hitting all of Mario's appearances. I'm limiting it to only those games where Mario himself is playable (so no Donkey Kong, Jr. or Super Mario Land 3). Also, I'm not counting games that most would have little chance to play, like the Satellaview games. And the games must have been published (and usually developed) by Nintendo, so no edutainment titles or Hotel Mario. Lastly, no Game & Watch titles (not until round 2, anyway).
