I contacted Curt Vendel in order to get a clarification as to whether the pricing on the dealer price sheet was per case or per item. He was able to confirm that the pricing was per unit or item. Here's his exact response: "If the pricing was for a dealer pack, it would have specifically stated pack and would have indicated the quantity. The price sheets were unit quantity and priced for dealers." Many thanks to Curt for confirming this.

Yesterday, a different Atari promo bat surfaced on eBay. It was a Darrell Evans (San Francisco Giants) bat. I had never seen this one before. From my experience, a total of 5 of these Atari promo bats have surfaced, to date. For the Giants, there are bats in the name of Jack Clark, Joe Morgan, Chili Davis, and now, Darrell Evans. And for my beloved Pittsburgh Pirates, there's the Bill Madlock bat. I wonder if there are Atari promo bats in the name of any other players.

Yeah, she has some really unique Activision items. Good thing she hung on to everything after all these years.
-
I got them from a former Activision employee, whom I know. She recalls that the pictures were taken by a professional photographer. They're actually on 35mm slides; I used a scanner to convert them to photographs.

Lord, I think you're absolutely right. I thought the "Ill" was referring to "I'll" (as in "I will"). But since it says "for trip to" right above this, it looks like it was referring to some kind of business trip to the great state of Illinois. Good catch.

You're very welcome, my friend.
-
Thanks, Maibock. Yeah, it's a pretty unique item. I don't think very many of these survived. I'm guessing stores just threw these away, when they were done with the promotion. Luckily, a former Activision employee hung on to this one after all these years, and I was able to acquire it from her.

I have the actual sheet.
-
Many thanks to Dan Kitchen who was able to find out that this Activision stamp sheet was part of a foldable point-of-purchase display for a buy one, get one promotion.
-
That really is a nice poster. I had never seen it before either. Maybe it was displayed at trade shows and/or sent to retailers.
-
Cap, thanks for trying to make some sense out of what was written on the board.
-
My pleasure. And check out the cool digital wristwatch in the first picture. I think many of us had one of those back then.

I was able to come across some pictures of Activision's main office and its employees, from around 1983. I don't think very many of these types of pictures survived and thought you guys might find them interesting. Enjoy! On the right side, there appears to be a poster for Megamania. There's also a poster showing the different high-score patches The ladies appear to be looking at a folder with samples of the artwork for River Raid on the 5200 Poking out from underneath the wall calendar is a promotional sheriff's badge for the Happy Trails game for Intellivision What stood out to me here is that, on the dry erase board, there appears to be a comment which says "Order Shrink Wrap". I can't make out what the other comments mean A couple of Activision letters or memos can be seen on the wall Activision President, Jim Levy

The Atari Report - 2600 Edition - Episode 4 - Ms. Pac-Man
JayAre replied to BIGHMW's topic in Atari 2600
Great review. Really enjoyed the video. -
Incredible. And with a 0.5 grading to boot. I think the Alamogordo ones are in better condition.
-
Bill, thanks so much for the measurements. And that was very nice of you to take the time to send the pictures as well. Boy, I wish I could answer your two questions, but I have no clue, Bill. I'll go online and see if I can dig up any info. to help you out. Really nice purchase. Congrats!
-
Bill, how much does the brochure measure?
-
Awesome find, Bill. Never seen it before either. Seems pretty rare.
-
When I first saw the list, I was thinking the same thing. But I believe the prices indicated are per item.
-
Going through some internal Atari documentation that I recently acquired, I found this Dealer Price Sheet from 1985 for the 2600. Since this is post-crash, I'm assuming these prices are lower than what dealers would have paid a few years prior. Interesting that the term "2600 software" was used, I guess due to the influence of home computer terminology at the time.
-
Over the last few months, I've noticed the price increase in everything from 2600 games to Atari merch; and graded 2600 games have gone through the roof. Is it related to the virus? As the Nature Boy used to say.....
-
You're very welcome. Yeah, as kids, we usually never thought about caring for those kinds of things. Growing up, I remember sometimes just tearing the boxes apart to get to the games.
-
Gold, you're right about the rebate. Here's a page from the Fox coupon book.
-
Perhaps the following games don't count in this discussion, because they contained multiple games and/or accessories, but I would think these would have been right up there in price: Video Jogger/Video Reflex/Foot Craz pad set Kid Vid Voice Module w/ Smurf games Berenstain Bears game set Tron Special Pack The Joyboard w/ Mogul Maniac

Bill, thanks for the update. I was hoping you had come across some rare version of the game. I think you're right though; it's probably just an error in the manual.
