  1. I figured the word "mail" would be in there somewhere. These last three seem to be the toughest ones. Although that Liver Raid one that you got was a doozy; I never would have gotten that one in a million years.
  2. I think this might be a bit of a stretch, but I'll go with TurMail (from Turmoil) for no. 1.
  3. Not sure about this one. But how about PitMall! for no. 9?
  4. Well, it's been a while since anyone answered, so I'll try one. I have three, but I'm not sure about the other two, so I'll try this one... Is no. 5 WarWords?
  5. Karl, you did a great job on these. You would have had a bright career at GAMES magazine. Would no. 8 happen to be Yarn Revenge?
  6. Dan, thanks so much for your kind response. I really appreciate your sharing these details. The information is fascinating. What an amazing party! It's great to finally get to the bottom of this. Thanks again. You stay safe also, as well as all AtariAge members.
  7. Good catch, Save. I hadn't noticed the color difference.
  8. A couple of Space Invaders sightings... First up is the movie Best Friends from 1982. That's Burt Reynolds about to turn off the TV, while two kids were playing. Here's an odd one. A movie from 1983 called The Creature Wasn't Nice. Here we have Leslie Nielsen playing the game, with the screen upside down.
  9. Attached is a picture of an Activision "stamp sheet" that I acquired from a former Activision employee. The sheet has an adhesive on the back, and each gamebox image has a perforation around it, so that you can remove each one. Every game is identified with "GS" and then two unique numbers. The sheet instructs you to choose either Megamania or Pitfall, and then one from the remaining 15 games. I thought the sheet might be from the Columbia House Video Game Club, but I don't believe the club sold Activision games. The employee doesn't recall anything about it, and I can't find any information online. Anyone have any ideas what this sheet was for? Thanks.
  10. Just remembered a couple more... Jackie Chan playing Pac-Man in Cannonball Run II Control tower employees playing Basketball in the movie Airplane
  11. Good topic. Here's Wormser playing SpaceMaster X-7 in Revenge of the Nerds.
  12. Blazer, is the gameplay the same as the released version? I assume it is, but you never know.
  13. Looks like a one-of-a-kind item. Incredible find. Congrats!
  14. Here you go, Rom. Attached is a better quality scan of the Phoenix box, along with the link to its eBay listing. I'm also attaching the link to the listing for the Vanguard promo game; I didn't buy that one, so I don't have a better picture of it, but maybe you can use the pic in the listing for your Vanguard page. And thanks for the picture of the promo console box; that's exactly the one I was referring to in my original post. https://www.ebay.com/itm/PHOENIX-Video-Game-Cartridge-ATARI-2600-CIB-Promotional-Copy-c-1982-Atari-/174188762424?hash=item288e759538%3Ag%3Ac1cAAOSwYzdeQ1rV&nma=true&si=vJJeKOZIc21OIGyz%2FnYcABimXek%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 https://www.ebay.com/itm/VANGUARD-Video-Game-Cartridge-ATARI-2600-CIB-Promotional-Copy-c-1982-Atari-/174188778895?hash=item288e75d58f%3Ag%3AvNIAAOSwGC9eQ2S0&nma=true&si=vJJeKOZIc21OIGyz%2FnYcABimXek%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557
  15. Same thing kind of happened to me, Bill. When I saw the listing, I searched for information about it online, since I had never seen one of these. I couldn't find any details on it, so I was somewhat hesitant to buy it. Based on the responses so far, it looks to be a fairly scarce item.
  16. Hey, Bill. No, someone else bought the copy of Vanguard.
  17. I recently bought a copy of Phoenix for the 2600, and there's a sticker on the box cover which reads "FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY - Not for Resale/Return"; pic attached. I've seen this wording on some 2600 console boxes; from what I've read, it appears that these consoles were display units at retailers. But I've never seen this on a game. I asked the seller, and he acquired it through a radio program promotion; he's thinking it might have been Rockline. He also had another similar copy, but for Vanguard. Has anyone ever seen one of these before, or knows how else it might have been distributed?
  18. In its earlier game catalogs, Atari used the caption "May The Force Be With You" in conjunction with Space War; pic below. Interesting that this catchphrase from Star Wars was used. Apparently, Lucas and co. never took any legal action; I would assume there was some type of copyright related to the phrase. Maybe they never found out about it. Or just didn't care. And Starship used "Beam Me Up, Captain", which sounds like a Star Trek reference. Am I missing something here? Curious to hear what you guys think.
  19. No problem, my friend. Glad the info. was helpful.
  20. Good question, Rom. I've been on your site many times and have often wondered the same thing. Perhaps my info. isn't completely accurate, but at least it's a start. Hope this helps. Asteroids Folder - Arcade (logo used in flyers to promote the Asteroids cocktail and cabaret-type cabinets) Asteroids Scratch Card - 2600 (in the Official Rules on the back of the card, the only 2600 prize is an "ATARI Video Computer System game") Asteroids Snap Model Kit - Arcade (see Asteroids Folder above) Atari Baseball - 2600 Atari Five Dollar Banknote Coupon - 2600 Atari Lunchbox - 2600 Atari Pencils - This one's a mixed bag. You have some 2600-only games including Yars' and Haunted House; and then there's Tempest, an arcade game Atari Safari Duffle Bag - 2600 Atari Two Dollar Cheque Coupon - 2600 Battlezone Folder - Arcade (arcade font used) Battlezone Snap Model Kit - Arcade (arcade font used) Defender Postage Stamp - 2600 Centipede Promo Toy - Not completely sure about this one, but I'd guess it's a 2600 item, since the centipede toy resembles the one used in the 2600 art, as opposed to the arcade centipede, which is quite different. And I believe that "CENTIPEDE - New and only from ATARI" catchphrase was used in conjunction with the 2600 release of the game Centipede Scratch Card - 2600 Centipede Snap Model Kit - Arcade (arcade font used) Datsun 280ZX Turbo - 2600 Dig Dug Balloon - 2600 Ice Hockey Pucks - 2600 Katch the Krook Scratch Card - 2600 McDonald's Placemat - 2600 Megamania Light Pen - 2600 Missile Command Scratch Card - 2600 Missile Command Snap Model Kit - Arcade (arcade font used) Pac-Man Citation - 2600 Pac-Man Frisbee - 2600 Pac-Man Paper Weight - 2600 Phoenix Notebook - 2600 Pitfall Pouch - 2600 Pitfall Display Kit - 2600 Pole Position Cup - 2600 Popeye Cup - 2600 Popeye Scratch Card - 2600 RealSports Football Playing Cards - 2600 RealSports Pennant - 2600 Robot Tank Postcard - 2600 Sleeping Bag - 2600 Space Invaders Notebook - 2600 Star Raiders Scratch Card - 2600 Swordquest Calendar Pyramids - 2600 Warlords Notebook - Arcade (logo used in flyers to promote the Warlords arcade game) Yars' Revenge Fly Spray - 2600
  21. Looks like it was the Zircon Video Command joystick. Second pic below is the back of the game manual. Hope this helps.
