It's basic common sense. You don't unplug or plug in when power is on. Why would you even want to?

If the shipping is even remotely close to that of the console itself, I promise I won't be buying.

Someone explain this to me please... it doesn't make sense, and I'm all out of logic today. So, I posted earlier that I grabbed a Sega CD Model 2. It was working when I got it (even though the auction description said it wasn't reading discs). Then after a few hours, it stopped reading discs. I figured, bad laser. Ordered a new laser for it. So today, I started repairing. I took the Model 2 apart, and as I was removing the laser, a spring came loose and I tried to catch it. Well in that process, I dropped the faulty laser. No big deal right? Yeah, sure. So, I get the new laser put in, and button it all back up. Start it up, laser is seaking, gears working, CD NOT SPINNING!! The motor for the cd spindle isn't engaging. I started swearing. So, after an hour of troubleshooting, I couldn't literally find anything wrong other than this laser requires more power. So, just for shits n giggles, I wanted to put the old laser back in, see if the motor spins up. I already knew it wasn't going to read discs, I didn't even care that point. ... wait for it..... The effin thing is working again!! wth??? I'm mean, I'm not upset. The new laser was 11 bucks, free shipping. I'm just trying to understand how I dropped a not working laser from four feet, it fell to the floor, and now it's working. smh

I'm not comparing though. Just saying that the add-on for its age, is pretty impressive. That doesn't negate the PS1 being impressive to still be working though. The model 2 I have needs the laser replaced. It's an eleven dollar fix and about 35 mins work. Can't tell what type of condition it was kept over the years. So yeah, I'm still impressed. I'm also impressed that the PS1 I have still works too.

Either way, for the age, and still working, or needing minor repair, it's pretty impressive. That goes for models 1 and 2.

So, since we are in the Genesis cycle now, I'll tell a funny, frustrating, and overall funny lol, story. So I got excited, wanted to get a Sega CD, Model 2. Kinda high on ebay, but whatever.. I'll do it. So I was bidding on a couple, and then had a few I was doing best offer with. I didn't realize one of the best offer items actually had "sega cd does not work" in the description and I got it for $140. Genesis original, with the sega cd model 2, a handful of carts and cd's. I get it today, and I was like, why are things missing, and this thing doesn't work. I looked at it and realized I accepted the wrong one!!! smh. Contacted the seller, but hadn't heard back after a few hours. So I said, what the heck, let's see if we can troubleshoot it. Problem is, I thought it would have an AV cable, and well, I don't have one lol. So, I had to get creative. After some fiddling around, this is what I got. Yes, it looks like crap, but that's to be expected lol.
