    Thanks for this, I think I found the manual, Atari_5200_Field_Service_Manual. That will be a great help I think, still have to have a proper look through it.

     

    I had a look on Best Electronics, but couldn't find it on their site. Is a very hard page to navigate through for me.

    As I said in my first post, couldn't find a lot.

    Hi guys, haven't posted in ages, same as I hadn't touched my games.

     

    2 years ago I bought a 5200 on Ebay here in Australia with a multi card, sweet. Also bought a few games here on Atariage.

    Just now connected it up for the first time properly, I get it tuned on the TV except the sound is static. Every now and then I "hear" the game very faint.

     

    Now I've read to replace the capacitors to start with.

    What is the value of these and are they normal capacitors?

    When I measure mine with a multi meter, it says 16.4 micro farad, both.

     

    Also if I need to replace the pokey chip, where can I get one? Is there a guide how to fix any sound issues?

     

    Many thanks for your help, I wouldn't start a new topic on this if I had found the answer. Been looking for a few hours now and didn't get very far.

     

    Edit, it's a four port if it makes a difference.

    Somehow, this make more sense, because of the similar text layout of the blue-yellow sticker.

     

    Let's wait for one containing a PAL Dishaster cart.

    I don't think it does. All the non-Nth American boxed copies I have seen either don't have a cart at all or have some other cart.

     

    Do you want a pic of the Tanks but no Tanks, only one that exist?

    That is,.. If I can find it.. I've seemed to have misplaced it.

     

    More likely: somebody came in, saw all my jewelery and the copycart and made the right decision...

    Tanks but no tanks vidco PAL in my box, which has the Dishaster sticker on it....

    Pitfall 1 & 2, These 2 games are that good, whatever you end up paying, you'll find it's a steal.

     

    10 bucks each I'd say. I would, if I hadn't already had at least 1 spare for all of them.

     

    The other ones, I dunno, but if you don't have it already, look out for HERO aswell.

    Check pics, I think they're all PAL, they all work. and gonna flog most of my stuff. If you like any, just make a decent offer.

    Sometimes they do come around cheap. I bought mine with a multicartidge, a boxed 4-port and it's not modded but it still works on my old tv (Australia)
