Intellivision Ebay Roundup
Troy_Whelan replied to IntellivisionDude's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I recently got a double label Hockey cart, but the white label on top is slightly torn in the middle. -
I have a sealed Intellivision Parker Bros. game where the lid is on upside down. Not a big deal, just a bit odd as I have never seen any other copies where the lid was on upside down. I also have a set of Mouse Trap overlays that are printed upside down. The rounded corners are at the top instead of the bottom! They appear to be legitimate overlays, just upside down. Yeah, I know, pictures... I will upload them later when I can. Anyone else seen any oddities like this? Troy

Woohoo! My Desert Bus boxed edition (sealed I might add) arrived in the mail today! Initially I was thinking it was a long time for it to arrive from when it was first ordered, but then I realized that the time duration was simply a marketing campaign demonstrating the lengthy gameplay! Just kidding of course, these things take time and I do appreciate your periodic updates keeping us informed along the way. Thanks for making this game available to us! Troy

Treasure Of Tarmin / Tom Loughry (Intellivisionaries)
Troy_Whelan replied to nurmix's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I am truly sorry to hear that Carl. Many of us have our problems, some obviously worse than others. I had no idea you were experiencing any such illness or discomfort, which makes your work all the more impressive. Kudos to you sir! I hope you are able to get whatever help or advice that will make your life better for you. Troy -
Michael Thomasson auctions the 11,000 games of his collection!
Troy_Whelan replied to nanochess's topic in Auction Central
Notice the reserve is not met, it seems someone ran it up to see where the reserve price point was then backed out. That being said the reserve must be close to $900,000! I wish him the best of luck, but it seems this would be easier sold in chunks, perhaps broken apart by console. -
Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out - Bruce Springsteen

Just looked up the dates for AdamCon this year, looks like July 17 - 20 so hopefully we will finally have this game by the end of July! Troy

It is also different writing, can't make it out but it is different than the others. Multi-lingual?

Michael Thomasson auctions the 11,000 games of his collection!
Troy_Whelan replied to nanochess's topic in Auction Central
Sadly it looks like the auction is being derailed as 2 guys with no history have run it up over $50,000. I doubt those 2 bidders will buy his collection for that regardless of what it is worth. -
Is Girl's Garden really a dating sim?
Troy_Whelan replied to xDragonWarrior's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Man if you had described the game that way when it was for sale, I would have bought a copy! -
Great, we are getting close! Rev, can you also ask if extra overlays will be available for purchase? I ask because I like to keep my games sealed or CIB, but I also want to add overlays to my overlay collection binder. If not, no big deal as I can just take a set from one of my copies, but I thought it was worth asking. Troy

Lucky you! Very nice find for you, and now for me! PM sent. Troy

Hard Time Justifying Going To Too Many Games Expo
Troy_Whelan replied to VectorGamer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I agree with the comments regarding having a lower cost at events for those wanted marketplace only and standard price for those who want access to all. Perhaps you could conduct a survey from the event site or even here to guage interest. I feel that you would actually get more participants if the lower cost market place option was also available. I doubt that many of people who are planning on going would downgrade to a marketplace only pass, but I think there would be several people who are not going due to the cost who would change their mind and go to the marketplace only section. BUYER BEWARE...Shady online Atari dealer (Best Electronics)
Troy_Whelan replied to 3DOMan's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
BILLYonaire - My payments have been through PayPal paying for goods, and they have never rejected my payment and asked me to pay through PayPal as gift - never. BTW, while I was typing that I got an email from my Martian friend. He said "Hello my earthling friend Troy, tomorrow we go for a space ride!". See that quote proves it just like your quote. Troy -

BUYER BEWARE...Shady online Atari dealer (Best Electronics)
Troy_Whelan replied to 3DOMan's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
I have had nothing but positive experiences when dealing with Best Electronics. There is an addendum page on the site that has updated prices which will supercede any other prices on their site. Happens all the time. I fill out an email request with what I am looking for, he sends a response with prices, and then I decide to purchase or not. I always make the purchase because that is why I contacted him. I have read through this entire thread and did not find any activity that I would describe as "shady" business practices. The fact that the web site is not modern or up-to-date and has an addendum page instead of updating the items directly does not equal shady business practices. More likely it equals either a business owner that does not have the time to make any changes to the site or he simply does not see the need. Everyone is different. Apparently some would behave differently (at least they think so) if this was their business, but the fact remains that it is not. Also, without knowing what is going on in a persons life and/or business it is difficult to say how someone should behave. In any event, shady business practices would equate to shipping you something different than what you paid for. At Best Electronics I always get exactly what I paid for, and like you, I have the opportunity to purchase or not based on an itemized invoice. This site, like other gaming sites, is not always up-to-date. Another site which I will not mention sometimes lists games as available, yet when I contact them for purchase they are sold out. No big deal as again they let me know before I make a purchase. Interaction may have not met your expectations, but that does not make the site or the owner shady. It simply makes it a site that you do not like to buy from. Troy -
Thanks for posting those pictures! I agree, the pictures you have and in the link I posted above all have shrink-wrap that looks the same as the game I bought. Feeling much better now that my purchase has a similar looking plastic wrap as games owned by others. Troy

That is an expensive conversation! Looking for anything in trade? -
Maybe your Slurpy does not have a factory seal! j/k I would not expect all games from a factory to all be sealed the same way. I have seen other games by the same company where over time the games were simply closed but not sealed, sealed but not shrink-wrapped, shrink-wrapped by different machines, etc. Even something as simple as the shrink-wrap machine breaking down and being replaced or the company growing and needing 2 machines would result in differences in the seam. I would however expect the plastic type and thickness to be the same though. Troy
