  1. I have a sealed Intellivision Parker Bros. game where the lid is on upside down. Not a big deal, just a bit odd as I have never seen any other copies where the lid was on upside down.

I also have a set of Mouse Trap overlays that are printed upside down. The rounded corners are at the top instead of the bottom! They appear to be legitimate overlays, just upside down.

Yeah, I know, pictures... I will upload them later when I can.

Anyone else seen any oddities like this?

  2. Woohoo! My Desert Bus boxed edition (sealed I might add) arrived in the mail today! Initially I was thinking it was a long time for it to arrive from when it was first ordered, but then I realized that the time duration was simply a marketing campaign demonstrating the lengthy gameplay! :lolblue: Just kidding of course, these things take time and I do appreciate your periodic updates keeping us informed along the way. Thanks for making this game available to us!

  3. Maybe you could ask more about his illness. Like, when did the symptoms become so severe that he simply could not continue to work as a games programmer anymore. Has he gotten his problem diagnosed, then what would he do if a cure was found.

I'm interested because I'm in the same boat with Mr. Lowery. I've suffered from different types of chronic tendinitis for over 24 years. I'm at the point where I can barely write on paper legibly. Really cannot pick up the controller and expect to play a videogame without any pain.

Fortunately I can still program by voice. It's tedious, but if you stick with it it will eventually become reality.

:( I am truly sorry to hear that Carl. Many of us have our problems, some obviously worse than others. I had no idea you were experiencing any such illness or discomfort, which makes your work all the more impressive. Kudos to you sir! I hope you are able to get whatever help or advice that will make your life better for you. :)

  4.

I think you're right! It went up to over two hundred thousand dollars, and now it is back down to $90k.

Notice the reserve is not met, it seems someone ran it up to see where the reserve price point was then backed out. That being said the reserve must be close to $900,000! I wish him the best of luck, but it seems this would be easier sold in chunks, perhaps broken apart by console.

  5. I agree with the comments regarding having a lower cost at events for those wanted marketplace only and standard price for those who want access to all. Perhaps you could conduct a survey from the event site or even here to guage interest. I feel that you would actually get more participants if the lower cost market place option was also available. I doubt that many of people who are planning on going would downgrade to a marketplace only pass, but I think there would be several people who are not going due to the cost who would change their mind and go to the marketplace only section.

  6. @revolutionika: Rick Danger... I mean, Rick Dynamite should enter the beta testing phase pretty soon.

@scalpel: Hi Pascal! Nope, it's not yet ready for prime time... but it's getting closer. ;-)

Man this is great! This is a title I thought had been totally scrapped. I am very happy to hear it will be available in the near future! :)

  7. I have had nothing but positive experiences when dealing with Best Electronics. There is an addendum page on the site that has updated prices which will supercede any other prices on their site. Happens all the time. I fill out an email request with what I am looking for, he sends a response with prices, and then I decide to purchase or not. I always make the purchase because that is why I contacted him. I have read through this entire thread and did not find any activity that I would describe as "shady" business practices. The fact that the web site is not modern or up-to-date and has an addendum page instead of updating the items directly does not equal shady business practices. More likely it equals either a business owner that does not have the time to make any changes to the site or he simply does not see the need.

Everyone is different. Apparently some would behave differently (at least they think so) if this was their business, but the fact remains that it is not. Also, without knowing what is going on in a persons life and/or business it is difficult to say how someone should behave. In any event, shady business practices would equate to shipping you something different than what you paid for. At Best Electronics I always get exactly what I paid for, and like you, I have the opportunity to purchase or not based on an itemized invoice. This site, like other gaming sites, is not always up-to-date. Another site which I will not mention sometimes lists games as available, yet when I contact them for purchase they are sold out. No big deal as again they let me know before I make a purchase.

Interaction may have not met your expectations, but that does not make the site or the owner shady. It simply makes it a site that you do not like to buy from.

  8. Troy! In my opinion I thing it is legit :)

Here's some pictures of my Double ender. its been open but you see the buttom Wrap. It looks like your Robin Hood.

    Too bad its been open...

Thanks for posting those pictures! I agree, the pictures you have and in the link I posted above all have shrink-wrap that looks the same as the game I bought. :) Feeling much better now that my purchase has a similar looking plastic wrap as games owned by others.

  9. I just checked my sealed Slurpy, and it does not have a seam along the top flap like this Robin Hood example.

Maybe your Slurpy does not have a factory seal! ;)

j/k I would not expect all games from a factory to all be sealed the same way. I have seen other games by the same company where over time the games were simply closed but not sealed, sealed but not shrink-wrapped, shrink-wrapped by different machines, etc. Even something as simple as the shrink-wrap machine breaking down and being replaced or the company growing and needing 2 machines would result in differences in the seam. I would however expect the plastic type and thickness to be the same though.
