I am very pleased with the refurbished and modded ColecoVision I purchased from Yurkie about a year ago. It functions very well, the straightened cords are a blessing, and the pause button comes in very handy! I was so happy with it that I bought 2 spare consoles from him for future use, but I have not yet needed to use them as the first ColecoVision is still working just fine.

Thank You very much!!!

J-F has been responsible for many impressive ColecoVison games and is now expanding that influence to the Atari 2600, Intellivision, Dreamcast, and the NES!!! At times it is hard to keep up with all of the great products coming out from CollectorVision, but I will continue to try!
Keep up the good work and I will keep supporting you and CollectorVision.

Pixelboy has produced many great ColecoVision games and is working on Jewel Panic and an awesome ColecoVison card set now. These games are outstanding additions to my collection and I look forward to Jewel Panic and the ColecoVision card set coming out. Luc "Pixelboy" is also a pleasure to do business with or just to chat with in the forums. Thanks for all you do Luc!!!

Phil "PBoland" has created some incredible overlay sets for the ColecoVision and has a few more in the works now. I am very pleased with my purchases and plan to get the next overlay sets he creates. Quality product, quality shipping, and quality seller. 5 stars!!!

I have been communicating with Toby "Coleco_Master" and buying CollectorVision games for some time now, and the experience has always been pleasant and professional. The games from CollectorVision are high quality games that come with packaging that feels like you are back in the 80's! All purchases are well wrapped and packed securely with shipping soon after payment. I have purchased many items from Coleco_Master and I will likely purchase many more!

On one rare occasion I actually sold something to Coleco_Master and the transaction was very smooth and communication was excellent. No worries either buying or selling with Coleco_Master as all aspects of the transactions are professional and well managed.

I purchased a ColecoVision Arcade Controller that grips03 made from a stock Neo Geo controller and the result was awesome! The controller is a thing of beauty, has a great feel to it, and is simply a must have controller to comfortably play ColecoVision games with an arcade feel.
I also purchased 3 ColecoVision games and they arrived in mint condition, well packaged, and shipped quickly after purchase.
I would definitely recommend grips03 as a reliable seller with quality products and reliable service.

I received my ColecoVision controller today and it is a piece of art! Absolutely beautiful controller and the modifications are professionally done. Very glad I purchased this!

I also bought a Dreamcast Arcade Controller and shipping was very impressive! Well wrapped and protected in a large sturdy box, item arrived safely, quickly, and the controller itself is in great condition! He takes good care of his gaming controllers for sure. I would gladly do business with him again.

You completely misunderstood my post.
I was calling out the difference of posting a comment regarding an activity that's free vs trying to force people to do something that costs a great deal of money.
I know what CollectorVision an PixelBoy have done in regards to releasing roms and greatly appreciate it. The comments I made which were linked were directed at a developer and not a publisher.
Releasing roms is a free activity, while releasing new cart based games takes an invesent of thousands of dollars. The two are nowhere near equivalent. Also, I simply stated an opinion on the subject rather than trying to publicly shame and humiliate the publishers.
Not sure why you think I am trying to force anyone to do anything... really odd for you to say that. Team Pixelboy and CollectorVision are entitled to do, and clearly will do what they want to do. I am not trying to force anyone, nor do I think I could force anyone, to create anything. Also odd for you to say giving away a ROM is free. Free to you, but not free to the developer that created it. That ROM has value; it is the result of what you yourself say "costs a great deal of money". The creation and selling of carts is merely a way to recoup that money so the comparison is very much relevant. Creating and selling carts incurs more costs added to the cost of building the ROM, and that is the means to recoup the money. I am encouraging the creation of something that I will gladly pay for. You are asking for something for free that the developer does not want to give away. I am supporting homebrew creation while you are trying to "guilt them, force them, shame them, humiliate them" to give you the Ghosts N Zombies ROM for free. You, not me.
You are entitled to your opinions, but I am really not sure why you feel the need to alter the intent of this with your jaded opinions while acting like your actions are fine. I tried to laugh it off but you keep going. Let it go.

I think this thread is generating some good conversation. As I said in the first post here, “This poll may help to raise awareness one way or the other around creating and selling more SGM games before any SGMs are created and sold." This was to provide some insight and I am aware that this could prove that there is little to no demand, adequate demand, or enormous demand.
Just so others know where I am coming from with this poll. I have worked with 4 different ColecoVision homebrew groups including developers and publishers since 2005 to beta-test 14 different ColecoVision homebrew games. I have also provided input regarding editing new game manuals and even participated in beta-testing the Super Game Module itself. My interest is in helping the ColecoVision homebrew community and supporting new game creation. Clearly I also like the ColecoVision games, but looking at the line-up CollectorVision has for this year I have no worries regarding new games coming out.
If I have offended, or tried to pressure, or even tried to make anyone in the homebrew game production community feel guilty regarding SGM game creation, then you have my sincere apology as that was not my intent. I merely wanted to answer an unanswered question: Is there currently a demand for SGM games?

If you want to see new SGM games published, you're more than welcome to put them out yourself.
Ah Goldenegg, you make me laugh! Thanks for that! Maybe I will get started on publishing SGM games for the CV around the same time you begin re-creating unreleased ROMs for the CV!!! LOL Seeing that you were baffled about them not being shared and your comment above about creating things yourself that you want, it stands to reason that you will be creating the ROMs yourself!

I am trying to gauge interest in new ColecoVision games that would require use of a Super Game Module (SGM). This is being done because the game producers are not currently focusing on any SGM games due to the limited volume of SGMs in circulation. I think there are enough SGMs in circulation to warrant SGM game production. I also think the ColecoVision gaming community typically buys more than 1 game for a variety of reasons. Some buy an extra game as a spare, to display on a shelf, to trade with others for a missing game, or to sell years later to offset costs. This poll may help to raise awareness one way or the other around potentially creating and selling more SGM games before any more SGMs are created and sold.
To be clear, nobody requested me to do this. Not CollectorVision, not Team Pixelboy, not anyone. This is something I want to do because I want to see more Super Game Module games being created for the ColecoVision.

When and where were the prototypes sold? I completely missed that one.
-
That's exactly right. It's premature to panic now, please keep your cries of desperation and calls to use tar and feathers on Eduardo for after May 1st.

Any interest in Team Pixelboy, CollectorGames, and others doing a poll to see how many SGM games would be purchased if no more Super Game Modules are produced? I am sure the number would be high enough as some of us like to have 1 to play, 1 to display, and possibly 1 to trade for something else. Combine that with Good Deal Games and Atari2600 likely wanting some and I think the number in demand will surprise you.
-
Any timeframe for the release date with this set of games?
-
I have had this pre-ordered since it was first announced! Very much looking forward to this.
A RPG style game with adult humor and familiar characters baked in! Awesome combination for me. Really hoping the game is interesting and funny at the same time as it is very rare to find games that keep my attention and make me laugh. I think the last game I had that I really enjoyed and made me laugh while playing with others was Pro Wrestling for the NES. Really fun and funny at the same time with a ton of replay value. -
Hmmm. I've literally lost track of all the games I've been buying lately. Guess I should PM Toby to check if I've ordered this one yet.

LOL, I know how you feel! I have a long list of games I have ordered and paid for, another long list of games pre-ordered and not yet paid for, and a third list of games I am interested in that are not yet available to even pre-order! Hard to keep track of it all, and even worse if a game falls through the cracks and I miss out on it.

I really like the fact that a well established retro game producer is widening it's reach beyond ColecoVision to include more retro consoles including Intellivision, Atari 2600, and NES! You have produced many awesome games and I have a copy of almost all of them, so I am very anxious to be able to play this NES game!
Thank you for continuing to provide us with incredible gaming experiences!Troy

So far:
Donkey Kong - Super Game = 39
Donkey Kong Junior - Super Game (5 screen version) = 43
SubRoc - Super Game = 37
I figure it would take at least a number of 100 to make it worthwhile to convert and then produce a CIB run, but maybe 75 would still be doable depending on what CollectorVision thinks.
Come on people, cast your votes!
Well, to be fair that is the number of people interested in the carts not the number of carts to be sold. Many people will buy more than 1 cart, so you might want to start a second poll for number of carts now that you know the number of people interested.

"F..." Nolan Bushnell. Now on the other hand... the Greenbergs will be proud!

Ah, but Nolan gets free set #97 (maybe) and the Greenbergs will have to buy one!

I kept forgetting to order when you had the CV Controller completely assembled for sale. I have the Intellivision controller, and that is great! Put me on a waiting list for an assembled ColecoVision controller in case you get enough interest.

I received mine in the mail today as well! Very nice box set!
Really has a commercial grade quality vibe about it; Nolan Bushnell will be proud.Troy

As the SGM is a licensed product with Coleco, it is possible that he is working on the ColecoVision 2 and River West Brands (Coleco) requested him to stop work on the SGM as it would be included with the CV2. It is also possible that he cannot comment on any of this at the request of RWB (Coleco). Awkward situation to be in, but very possible. Also possible that those who do not yet have the SGM will get credit towards a CV2. Granted this is pure speculation, but so is most of this thread. I am just trying to find a realistic scenario that would explain all of this, and this seems like a possible scenario as there have been comments here on AA about a CV2 possibility.

Youki has done some fine development work for the ColecoVision and these games were produced by CollectorVision. Games like Ghost n Zombies and The Way of The Exploding Foot are prized possessions for ColecoVision gamers. I am looking forward to his next game to be released by CollectorVision hopefully during 2014!
