  1. There is a new version of FMCB that runs off the hard drive instead of a memory card. However, I've yet to upgrade to it.
  2. Pretty much any IDE drive should work in a PS2 but I want to put in a Solid State Drive at some point using an IDE/SATA adapter. You need to research Free McBoot, Open PS2 Loader, and WinHiip. Free McBoot is the softmod that is used (including a new version that can be run off the hard drive instead of a memory card - something I've yet to try), Open PS2 Loader is the program you use to run programs off the hard drive (far better than HDLoader), and WinHiip is the program on the PC you use to install images to the drive (never use the PS2 for image installs - the DVD-ROMS are total crap for this purpose). The compatibility rate currently is between 85 to 90% Out of my collection of nearly 100 titles only a small number, roughly five or so, that either run with some problem or not at all. Once you've played games from the HDD you'll never want to go back.
  3. An alternative to the Dex Drive is the PS3 since they are BC with the PS1 regardless of model. Get a Memory Card reader and transfer your saves to the PS3 for safe keeping.
  4. I believe that a couple of people at least are working on it as far as I know.
  5. Was force-fed Carmen constantly during my gametesting days at Broderbund Software. Still hate that bitch to this day.....

  7. Not to rain on anybody's parade but wouldn't it be better to find a way to put in some sort of SD Card reader and save your games on an SD Card instead of relying on either the battery saves or the memory cart? Or is that not possible?
  8. GTA V is completely open from the start. And it's a huge map too.
  9. Especially if you have the following: --PS2 "Fatty" with Network Adapter. --IDE hard drive or, with appropriate IDE/SATA adapter (or modified Network Adapter), standard laptop drive or Solid State Drive. --Codebreaker Version 8 or above. --Compatible USB flash drive. --Free McBoot and Open PS2 Loader. --Winhiip (on the PC) for game installation.
  10. When I wanted to write guides for the "Hitman" games years ago I wanted to start with the first one, "Codename 47". But the PC versions only used the keyboard/mouse setup and I absolutely couldn't play the games without a joypad, I had played them too much on the consoles. Xpadder was an absolute godsend and I managed to get through all four of the games at that time with no problems. I added Xpadder related information on those documents and will probably do the same to "Absolution" if I ever get around to playing the PC version. I would imagine that it works pretty well for MAME and I should try that sometime.
  11. Not to go off-topic too much but I wrote some blog entries concerning some of my experiences: Broderbund Software LucasArts Top 10 Best (Non-Sports) Licensed Games
  12. There is supposed to be a new Riddick movie coming out later this summer but, unfortunately, no game to tie with it. Am sad. BTW, I liked the games well enough to write guides to both EFBB and AODA for GameFAQs.
  13. Personally I think that AAFES shouldn't carry the Xbox One or anything related to it until MS changes their tune. After all, if the soldiers can't really use it then what's the point of carrying it in all of the PX's? In addition, since MS doesn't seem to be concerned about slapping the soldiers in the face, then one could consider owning an Xbox One to be unpatriotic and unsupportive of our troops.
  14. Definitely get Assault on Dark Athena considering that its predecessor, Escape From Butcher Bay, also comes with it. Two for the price of one.
  15. If you need further convincing that the PS1 is worthwhile try this: PS1 > Xbox 1
  16. I'll leave this here: http://www.polygon.com/2013/5/21/4353010/kinect-trouble-xbox-one-reveal
  17. Have you tried GameFAQs? That would probably be a good place to start looking.
  18. Looks like a VCR without all of the fancy buttons.
