I've got all those, I bought them from the newsagents back in the day. It's a shame that most of them are now creased and torn, and one or two of them don't even have the front and back pages anymore.

I only got Volumes 1 and 2 back in the 80's. Can't remember why I didn't get the rest.
It's taken me about 6 months to get the final 2 volumes.
Am I right in thinking that Volume 4 Issue 7 was the last one?

I got a CF2IDE Adapter for use with a SIO2IDE Interface inside of my 1250XLD

Nice
Is that going to be mounted at the front in one of the 'drive bays'?

I posted this in the marketplace, but I thought I would post it here as well as I know some of you guys only look at this forum area.
I am looking for an original copy of AdventureWriter, does anyone have one they would like to sell?
I will consider paying for postage from anywhere

Ooops, more mail from eBay.
Swift Spreadsheet just arrived. I already have 2 spreadsheet apps, including VisiCalc!!!
-
Wow! How many issues are there?
Might as well pick up the Pair of very very large 'African' style Floor Lamps from the same seller, maybe you can get combined shipping!
Haha...I don't think those floor lamps will work in my office
There are only 7 issues in volume 4 of Atari User, so in total 43 issues of the magazine. Not a huge run, I know, but it's been quite hard to find the final volume.

I have really got to leave eBay alone for a while.
Just won the following:
My Atari User collection is now complete
(Sorry Atarimania, saw your last minute bid there)

I'm after an original copy of AdventureWriter for the Atari 8-Bit.
Not too worried if it has to come from the US (I understand it was only released there), and am willing to pay for airmail.

Hey Pengwin, I'm on here, glad you picked it up, hope you put it to good use. Maybe you'll even find a tip or two you can use in all the issues of UPDATE KYAN that were included.
Cheers,
JD
Hi JD,
Oh yes, it will be put to good use. I've already looked at it and the KIX interface is fantastic, and pointers are easier in this version.
I haven't had time to look at the newsletters properly yet, but the glimpse I had through them earlier has already clarified a few things and shown new techniques.
As I said in my email, all I need now is an original copy of AdventureWriter and I'll be really happy.
Again, thanks for a great deal.

I need to go to AA classes for eBay. I spent 3k last month between here and ebay.
Jim
Swing by and pick me up on the way there, I've spent thousands I shouldn't have either. Once you get going it's hard to stop, I keep finding more and more things I "need."

Tell me about it. 3 months ago, my retro collection was in tatters... it's getting impressive now :!:

WOOHOO...it's arrived
All the way from Oregon to Moray in Scotland. I now have in my grubby little hands an actual copy of Kyan Pascal!!
Many thanks to JD for selling this to me (don't know if you're on here).
No stopping me now, time to get coding

Hi,
i have an updated view of my Atari corner for you.
The XL-Gamesystem is not longer mine, but i got
replacement for it, as you might know.
Your 'replacement' looks good sitting there

Still got some Jack Daniels left eh?
Bad news Ross. Sally and I finished the JD tonight

Here's a more recent image of my 'retro corner'.
It looks like chaos, and it is chaos. (apologies about the spectrum loading screen on the tv
)Gaming and retro system that can be seen are (from left to right) Oric Atmos, 48K ZX Spectrum, ZX Spectrum+, Atari 800XL (with SIO2PC sitting on top), 1050 Disk Drive.
And on top of the TV is my Nintendo DS Lite charging up.
All of the systems are working and unmodified, except for the ZX Spectrum+ which I have bypassed the RF modulator to give me direct video out.

It must be pretty nice sitting in there with a drink remenissing. You guys are lucky to have spare rooms. I think anyone who doesn't have one would no choice other than to have everything next to the TV downstairs, and that's if the wife would mind, otherwise I guess everything would have to be kept stored away, which is a shame.

I guess I'm lucky then. My wife has a PC next to my Mac (just out of shot), so she is often surfing the net (or should I say spending money on eBay), while I get my retro fix. Either that or she's knitting and the sound of those needles drives me insane

All,
The newest version of Atari800MacX has been released. This version has one new feature, which is the ability to insert a second cartridge image when the first cartridge image is a SpartaDos X cartridge. This lets you use Basic XL, XE, Action, etc with the Sparta Dos cartridge in the emulator as you can on the real machine.
The program can be downloaded from http://www.atarimac.com .
Thanks again to Al for hosting the web pages.
And thanks go to Pengwin (Atrenne Software and Web Design) for the updated web page look on my site!!!
Mark
My pleasure, Mark. I like to help the Atari community in anyway I can.

The Dreamcast has now been consigned to the clear perspex box, and the 800XL is now set up properly, it's still really cramped for space though, the data recorder is squeezed in behind it.

Ross, you need to get yourself a coffee table. I ran my old computers like that for quite a while, until I built my desk.

I did notice that
I'd missed out on one too many 'Dungeons' on EBay in the past to let this one get away
Well, even at that price, I think you got a bargain.

Eek, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=290071054966
Guess I'll need to crack on with those cart ports
to re-coup my Ebay frivolities - Lord help me when
the other half sees that on my bank statement
Mark
P.S: I think everyone else must have been out when this ended:

So you beat me on that!! grrr

I just won a sealed copy of Rescue On Fractalus. It's the newer cartridge version, but it's the perfect replacement for the tape version I sold a while back.

You all need to get a Mac and run Atari800MacX... imho... The best A8 emulator I've ever had the pleasure of using... The media interface is something that is sorely needed in Atari800Win...
I've tried several emulators on various platforms, including DOS and Windows. But, I agree totally with dwhyte, Atari800MacX is the best one I've used.

sio/cio programming is easy
have a look at De Re Atari... there are the DCBs mem adresses where to poke the values of the above mentioned "XIO" command into and then you have to call the SIOV or CIOV... not sure.
I shall have a look
but as far as i can remember does kyan pascal not support XIO commands?
I don't think the version I have does, but I am waiting for version 2 to arrive from the US, so I will check out the manual when it arrives.
I have actually put the project on hold until I get the new version of Kyan Pascal (well, it's new to me anyway)

I didn't realise there was a PC version!! I was aware of WinQuill, which is a relatively new version, it's written for Windows95.
