I have a white screen on the cold console, the hot one is just like in your photo. -

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax (Music Demo) (20150311).a78
It's 1024K and included in the PROPack.
This demo is on the SD card that came with Dragonfly

I do have a very recent recap so maybe mine holds power a little too good? Nbd as it works, just not quite as described in the manual. Except sometimes. It's like an extra 500ms might do it lol. Being able to configure the power off timing would be neat if possible in an update.
I will add such a function in the next software update.
The console should not turn on by itself when switching games. But after turning off the power, the capacitors still have energy for a while and this means that the console can turn on by itself. There is a delay in the program that should eliminate this, but as you can see, each console behaves differently. It does not depend on the power supply used.

I confirm it, soon I will develop an adapter with the YM2151 module, it will work with any cartridge (homebrew, Concerto, CC2, Mateos).
There will probably be two versions, one in the "old" through-hole technology, matching the case from the original game, the other version in SMD technology, a smaller one, matching the case from 3D printing. Both versions will have identical functionality. I will publish the documentation of both versions on the forum, anyone who will be able to make the same adapter. For those who cannot, I will have ready-made SMD versions for sale.-

Thank you @- ^ CrossBow ^ - for your commitment to this topic.
I do not fully understand how these consoles are modified and why elements are removed from them. I have two consoles, one PAL, the other NTSC, I have installed a UAV module in both. The sound is connected to resistors R5 and R6, which are soldered on one side from the PCB and shorted together, i.e. the sum of two audio paths - TIA and audio_in from the cartridge. Everything works fine. -

And the Double Dragon, Rampage and F18-Hornet games have stopped working.
Download the files from the attachment and replace them on your SD card. This applies to everyone who has replaced them with versions from a newer package.

On a regular, cheap LCD it is also great

I don't know what detection is at the moment, but the chip is visible even with Yamaha turned off (Chip Enable signal = 1). This makes it impossible the TIA sound from starting.

Can you detect YM with IRQ? All you need to do is set the appropriate register in YM and check if an interrupt occurred.

In an interview with @PacManPlus, I proposed to design such an adapter, but you have to wait for the YM detection problem to be resolved.

After this modification, are the TIA sound and the POKEY sound still summed up by resistors? If so, what are their values?
-
Well, something is wrong here, in the video you can see that the R5 resistor is removed, which cuts the Pokey sound from the cartridge, so how come you have the Pokey sound?
-
What was this modification all about? Have you changed summing resistors for TIA / POKEY?
-
What you write is very strange, Dragonfly does not interfere with TIA's audio path in any way and no settings will cause it to be turned off. Can you describe exactly what the console modification was?
-
Or they adapted memory chips that they had a lot in stock to save money

Software update.
Changes:
- changing the way files are loaded. Pressing the "Enter" button on the file will display one full name from the header. If we want to load this file into memory we press "Enter" a second time, if we want to change the file we press "Plus" or "Minus".
- removing the "Show Name" option in the MenuTo update the cartridge, upload the dragon.bin file to the root directory of the SD card, insert the SD card and turn on the cartridge's power supply. The bootloader will start automatically, after it is finished, delete the dragon.bin file from the SD card.
I haven't tested this version because I'm on a business trip until the end of the week, but everything should work.
The next tweak will be adding support for new header settings for Yamaha and Dual Pokey, but that's after returning home.

You can also change the header in the file to enable RAM, but I didn't want to do that before.

If you set the RAM option to Enable and not Force, that should also be fine, RAM is then only activated from the header settings. Unless the game has an improperly defined header then there may be effects like this. Will you check it out?

All is well apart from a couple of issues we've found that are reasonably consistent across both our PAL 7800's and our carts.
The first is that BallBlazer (PAL) has incosistent sound. The music has random beeping on one of the channels in there on the real cart, ran via the Dragonfly I either get no random beeping but all the other sound is ok, or I get a small number of random beeps that then start looping. On my machine the game itself plays ok. On Cleggy's machine he gets similar sound issues or his crashes completely at different intervals such as after the Lucasfilm logo or after he scores a goal. That's an odd one.
The other issue is that on Bob DeCrezcenso's Galaxian demo it comes up with Pokey not found despite others reporting that it finds one on their Dragonflys. All the other Pokey games I've tried work fine: Commando, Froggie, Super Circus AA, Donkey Kong XM.
It's all very odd. Certainly not a showstopper, just thought it was worth bringing up to see if anyone else is having the same issues.
I finally found some time today and decided to test the Ballblazer with the original Pokey chip. The game ran all the time on both PAL and NTSC consoles and did not freeze.
Don't you have "Force" mode set in the RAM Menu?

I do not hide that I would love to hear covox music from Atari 7800.
That's why I propose a $100 prize for each of the first three people who manage to write a music demo using covox from the Dragonfly cartridge. Even a black screen with background music is enough
As a reminder, there are four channels at $0500- $0503 addresses.
Offer expires on May 31 at midnight.
