    I guess I am about the third oldest here...63 years old ( behind our beloved "Grand Old Man"...Larry! I got my Atari 800 in 1980 with a 410 recorder.In 1981 along came an 810... And the rest is history..

    Exactly. I'm based in the Netherlands but was connected to networks in the USA, Canada and Germany. With some tricks another Sysop (running Wildcat) and me were also networking comp.sys.atari.8bit, which was a bit of a pita as the message flow there was huge, mainly due to the amounts of spam. Probably from Ben Smith......

    Hello! My friend has a MegaST2,but no keyboard.If I give him a KB from a non-working 520ST, can it be modified to work with the MegaST2?

    Why not load the files into STWriter and "save as ASCII"? Atari Forever!

    LOL, i don't think anyone uses a modem with steem, why would you want to? I've thought of plugging my ancient modem into my ST but as it's hooked up to my PC as a slave network device (i.e. interneted) it sort of defeats the purpose. As indicated by my handle,I am ancient,and like to do things the old school way.

    There is a program on one of the START cover disks called "SIFT" that will translate between different WP formats (including ASCII). I am in the process of rebuilding a dead hard drive,and when I find the program, I will post it. Thank you for all your contributions to the Atari community. OOPS! Here it is:SIFT.zip

    Hello! I have been trying to get the STeem emulator to dial out,using an external modem on COM1,under Win XP SP3. I don't think XP will let STeem take control of the COM port. Does anyone have any experience using a terminal program with STeem? Thank you. Atari Forever!

    There was an article in the old "Current Notes" about someone putting switches in a SpartaDos X cart so that he could leave it in place and turn it off.As I remember,it required two toggle switches (one on each side) I believe that the author wanted to use an AtariWriter cart this way. If I can find the article,I will scan it and send it to you...might take a while to find it.

    Damn! I just trashed a perfectly good EGA monitor! Sorry! I do have have a Tandy 720k 3.5" disk drive.

    Is there any real difference between the Adaptec 4000s and the 4010s ? I have two 4010 controllers,do you have any documentation for them? (might be why I couldn't get the Supra KPI to work....) Thanks!
