  1. That's some great stuff there! Can you put together one animation, say of him running, with the files I gave you? I'd be curious to see what it would look like and if the smooth animation can be replicated. Like an animated gif of it, or something like that. If someone does decide to do it, I believe I have all the tiles needed to recreate the levels. But the tiles would have to be converted also. Lot of work.
  2. I emailed all the bmp movement files for the main player. I was getting some errors on my email account, let me know if you did not get it.
  3. POP would be hard to do on the 2600. At least a version similar to the one I have on the PC. But I'd be curious to see what someone comes up with. Remember, the animation for POP was done using a technique called rotoscoping. Kind of how they do it in FPS military games now. They film actors then draw images on the computer to replicate the fluid animation. Each character would take up alot of frames per pose. I believe the hopping position is the smallest of the group, with three or four frames of animation. Others have close to 6 or 8 frames for each pose. The second problem, I think, would be trying to fit the scenes on one screen. Each scene of a map (level) takes up too much room to fit on the TV screen. If anyone is serious about doing this, I have all the POP movements/poses in bitmap format. I can email you a zip of them. Then you could try and convert them to the atari. I also have jpgs of all the map levels if anyone is interested. I downloaded them a while ago from some POP internet site. I believe the PC version was done using tiles, I'd have to look, but that was a way we use to draw quick scenes back in the day. Maybe someone could do something similar on the 2600.
  4. Here is what I do in a case like yours: * If the item is a higher priced item (my discression), I just charge exact shipping to the buyer and suck up the fees. * If the item is a lower priced item (my discression), I find the farthest US zip code from me (like a Zone 5), and use that as a starting point for shipping. Then I add a handling fee to cover the ebay/paypal fees. That way I don't get screwed. If using this method results in a huge shipping fee, I either revert back to method two, or not list the item. * If the item goes for an obscene amount of money that did not forsee, and I used method two above to calculate shipping, I revert to method one when calculating the cost for the buyer. This has made the buyer happy 100% of the time. This works for me so far without any problems. But then again, I'm not a big ebay seller. I've only sold about 25 items this year so far. Just my two cents.
  5. I just asked my wife what she thought about it, here was her reply: "Oh my, that is ugly as sin. It looks like a rotten cheese wheel" I guess using that for something sexual is out for me.
  6. It's funny, I remember the pac-man fever album. My mom got it for me when I was in seventh grade--many, many years ago.
  7. That is one funny looking chair.
  8. Can someone ask that guy where he gets printer ribbons and paper for that 820. I have a working one, but the ribbon and paper are toast.
  9. I just love when peeps try to buy an auction our from under everyone else. If I did that each time it was offered, I would have lost money. I bet you get more than $140 for that.
  10. I had the same exact problem a while back with a 1050. It turned out that the bad disk has something on it that was transferred to the read/write head. I cleaned the head and it has been fine ever since. That's where I would start.
  11. I've tried to do this three times and they still charge my CC.
  12. Good point. And I like the phrase "famous Pac-Man" Does this person know how much that game sucks on the 2600?

    800XL MOD?

Yes, basic boots up when it is turned on, but when the mod switch is on the video is black (or brown) text on a pinkish background. Ugly if you ask me.
  14. I turn the Priority Mail boxes inside out all the time. In fact, they were the ones to suggest that to me. They do not seem to care as long as any part of the Priority Mail logos are not showing. If you tape them up real well, they will not take the time to open it. But they did tell me they will XRAY packages to check the contents.

    800XL MOD?

I finally got it to work. It seems to be some sort of video mod. When I plug in the DIN cord, the switch on the cart slot changes from normal video to a different video. Can't really explain it. I have to replace the keyboard to check into it further--only a few keys work. This is a weird setup.

    800XL MOD?

Does anyone know what these MOBO changes do on this 800xl? It won't boot, so I have no clue what the heck this is. There is some small circuit board plugged into one of the chip slots on the left, and there is a switch on the cart holder. There there are a bunch of wires going around to different places.

    Heavy Sixer Guts?

Anyone have any pics on what a Heaver Sixer looks like on the inside? Thanks.
  19. I think this statement is funny: Just after he said this: Now, how does he know it works great when he's not even sure it's for the coleco. I'm gonna email him and ask if he tested this on a colecovision machine, just to see if he lies.
  20. The reply I got from the seller was that he does not know how to cancel the transaction, so here is your bill. What an ass. And I'm an ass for being so stupid.
  21. Yeah, that's what screwed me up, stupid me did not read it carefully. I'm more mad at myself than anything. The BIN was only $10 for an Atari 800 Miner 2049er and $5 shipping, so it's not that I'm out alot of $. I just did not want to pay that much for it. I'll probably just pay and not try to get out of it since I try to be as honest as I can when I buy or sell. I would not like someone to back out on me, so why should I back out on them. But I'm going to wait and see what the seller says.
  22. Stupid me accidetally hit the BIN button instead of the BID button and EBAY did not ask me to verify my choice. After I saw the BIN page come up telling me to pay I was pissed. I emailed the seller asking him if it was possible to undo. Is it possible to undo a BIN? I can't beleive I hit the wrong damn button.
