I cleaned out my movie collection today and came across a few I thought someone might want. I'd prefer to trade for NES or Dreamcast games, but I will consider other offers. A lot of the dvds are from Dollar Tree but they're all in actual full-size dvd cases. All of the VHS are in good, clean working condition. Here's a list of the titles: DVD: Dementia 13 (directed by Francis F. Coppola) D.O.A. (Edmond O'Brien and Pamela Britton) Flash Gordon (90 min. of episodes from the t.v. show) Iron Monkey (widescreen) Little Shop of Horrors (directed by Roger Corman ; starring Jack Nicholson) Tales of Tomorrow (3 episodes from a sci-fi series of the same name from 1952) Tom & Jerry (9 episodes from an animated series - not the cat and mouse t.v. show) The Undertaker and his Pals (Ray Dennis) The Wasp Woman / Attack of the Giant Leeches (2 movies on 1 disc) White Zombie (Bela Lugosi) VHS: Breakfast at Tiffany's Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon Double Dragon (based on the game!) Logan's Run Meet the Parents Storm of the Century (2-cassette set) The Terror of Tiny Town (a campy western starring a full cast of midgets) Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? A few of the NES games I'm seeking : 10 yard Fight American Gladiators Barker Bill's Trick Shooting Bump n' Jump Dance Aerobics Dr. Mario Magic Darts Pyramid Taboo Tennis Videomation Whomp 'Em Wild Gunman Wrecking Crew (This is not a complete list. Please pm if you see a movie you want and have something to trade). Thanks! -Jennifer

Post what classic gaming you got for X-Mas
madmjennifer replied to Wester's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I got the following from my husband: NES Death Race SNES Dino City Black DS Lite (the following are not classic at all but there isn't a Christmas thread going in modern gaming) Brain Age for DS 2 zipper dance pads for DDR2 on PS2 Also, my mom and sister got my husband and I a mini claw machine for our game room, but we have to exchange it because the claw broke when we opened it. A sign of quality worksmanship, no doubt Anyway, we'll get another once the return rush dies down and see if it's any better. -

I'm not sure where it was exactly but I'll ask him about that and if he knows where those other stores are. Thanks for letting me know the others exist. We'll have to hit them sometime. -Jennifer -

Yesterday, my husband brought me home an NES copy of Monopoly with box and instructions purchased for $2.50 from a newly (to us anyway) discovered Bargain Thrift in north OKC -Jennifer -

That's a nice find! The only SNES games I find in thrifts are usually loose sports titles and they still want $5 a piece. -
I found somebody to trade with but thanks for all the responses

Names writen in black marker.
madmjennifer replied to jboypacman's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Not to defend these long-ago defilers of video games, but one reason some people wrote their names on carts was because they loaned them out to people. Still, you'd think people could be more discreet with their ownership markings. I hate marked up games too but if it's only $1, I'll still buy it and hope most of it comes off. -Jennifer -
I have 2 Sega Master System games that I would like to trade for 2 NES games if anyone is interested. The SMS titles are Altered Beast and Wonder Boy in Monster Land. Both come with their boxes, which are in good condition. Wonder Boy has the instruction booklet, but Altered Beast does not. I have cleaned the cartridges but I don't know if they work because I don't have an SMS. I haven't traded a lot but pmpddytim is my husband and will vouch for me, and I have a good ebay record under mdmjennifer if that matters. Hope to hear from someone. Thanks. -Jennifer

All from Goodwill in OKC on 89th and Penn, found yesterday. 2 Sega Master System games @ $2 each: Altered Beast Wonder Boy in Monster Land 1 Sega game $2: Comix Zone Not a great score, but it's always fun to find stuff. -Jennifer -
Is there a website somewhere listing the high scores for Bookworm for GBA? I'm just wondering how many levels exist. I really enjoy the game but it seems like they'd run out of pseudo-libray/book positions to award after a certain number of levels. Thanks. -Jennifer

Not exactly thrift finds but yesterday I found Sesame Street ABC and Defender II, both for NES, at a pawn shop for $2 each. Later, I found Destiny of an Emperor and Millipede, also for NES, for $3 each at a little flea market. -

What was your very first console?
madmjennifer replied to Retro Gamer's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Mine was the NES original console. It was just the console and 2 controllers and we had to buy Super Mario Bros. separately. Thinking back on it, I think Sears screwed us since everyone else got the pack with the 3-in-1 game, zapper gun, and power pad. Oh well, I still had a lot of fun with it and I still have it. -
Did your game playing genres changed over time?
madmjennifer replied to 8th lutz's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I don't think my preferences in game genres have changed over the years. I don't know what that says about my maturity level I still enjoy the same games I enjoyed when I was younger and still dislike those that I didn't. -
My husband got me Irritating Stick for PS and a Sony Clie PDA. While the PDA doesn't sound game-related, I'm an extensive list maker and I have lots of game-related lists that I keep in paper form currently. The PDA will allow me to keep all these lists, plus those I've considered too long to keep in paper form in the past (like price guides). I can also put addresses and stuff in there too so I'm really happy to have it. Oh, my in laws got us Katamari Damacy for PS2 also. A good haul, all in all

It works! Plus, yesterday I found a couple of other games at the Salvation Army. Sword of Vermilion for Genesis and Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt for NES. I know the last is terribly common but I didn't have a copy of the dual game cartridge although I have both games individually and in combination with World Class Track Meet. I also got one of the wooden Napa Valley CD holders that I use to hold empty NES and GB boxes. Does anyone else find it odd that there aren't Salvation Army bell ringers posted in front of the Salvation Army? -

I'd like to buy a working Atari Jaguar console with at least one controller and all the boxes, cords, ect. needed to make it work (I don't handle the electrical stuff at my house...can you tell ). I don't need the original box - my main concern is that the system look decent and be in working condition. I want to get this as a Christmas present for my husband, pmpddytim. I'm really only looking for the base system now. I'll save the CD attachment for another present. If you have non-sports Jaguar games, I'm interested in those too. Thanks.

If you have an NES game with an end label that's starting to peel, is it better to try to reattach it somehow, or should you just leave it alone? I like the idea of reattaching it, but I'm unsure of the long-term affects of adhesives on the plastic cartridge. Thanks.

For those of you who alphabetize your games, where do you put the Zelda games? Are they all living happily together under L for Legend of Zelda, under Z for Zelda, or under their individual titles (ex: L for A link to the past)? Or have you innovated an entirely new solution to this problem? I put them all together under L, myself.

How violent are you when playing games?
madmjennifer replied to Clint Thompson's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I think the worst I've done while playing is pushing the joystick or buttons a bit harder than necessary, or perhaps mashing the d pad with a tad too much pressure. I might curse at the game, but I don't damage the equipment. Now, math books, on the other hand, have been known to fly across the room while in my possession. Stupid numbers! -
Ever eat Nintendo Cereal System?
madmjennifer replied to figgler's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I ate that! If I recall, I preferred the taste of the Zelda side but since I had only played Mario at the time, I always felt vaguely guilty for choosing the Zelda side over the Mario side. Despite the tremendous emotional conflict this caused, I always thought the cereal was neat because each side was in a separate bag and it was like you got 2 boxes of cereal in one. -

The metal shelves that support the bulk of my collection No, seriously, I think my best classic gaming investment was the wireless NES and SNES controllers made by Messiah. Plus, they come with a cute lunchbox carrying case.
