Nice work!

I totally understand Jin's and Capitan's points. I'm an aussie on real PAL Vader hardware .. and with over 200 carts, the likelihood of me playing a real PAL cart are quite high. I have honestly thought of this dilemma as well, feeling a bit dirty at times

However I do prefer to play on my real hardware. Either way .. if the rules ever changed, you wouldn't see me going anywhere. HSC is too much fun, with almost zero bitchyness and flaming on the HSC threads. I'd just happily play away, with NTSC roms, on my Retropie!

But we digress ...

I had to google that ... now I see that you are referring to an IPA, not a Shatner or Nimoy album.
Kwik hijack ..
Yeh. "Golden Throat Charmer" (ie Beer), is a quote taken from some of the old Paul Hogan "Fosters" beer adverts.

P.S. Tacos.

Whoever said this thread isn't classing up the joint should go back to sleeping with his emulation PC.
I think someone dropped something other than liquid cheese in their Pacos !?

Damn. So f#%king cool! They still work their magic even today. Makes me want to knock off work early, grab a golden throat charmer and flick that reset switch with my big toe

Nice. Activision seemed to run that same advert ideal through their other 2600 titles, at that time.
Another link with a few cool adverts. https://www.vintag.es/2015/07/old-video-game-ads-from-late-1970s.html

New to this Forum, and just saw this post, is there somewhere that tells me how this works?
Screen Shots? or what for verification?
Thanks
Mark

Nothing new to report I presume, so enjoy the comments on this video instead.

I've not used the Retronic adapter before, but I find it odd that it can only map the fire button to "B".
I've used the RetroPie's GPIO controller driver and UPCI (which is basically the same as the 2600-dapter) and I don't recall having trouble mapping the fire button to "A"
There's no problem remapping the button through the Retroarch UI, just for some reason wouldn't map to 'A' via the ES UI.

That's the one I use as well no issues with running on Windows with Stella; works flawlessly and may get a 2nd one to have it mapped with a Genesis controller (for MAME arcade games).
Spriggamortis, did you have to do anything special to get it working in RetroPie? Having some issues, it sees the HID USB interface but somehow the input doesn't mapped.
It's been a while, plus I'm @work currently. However from memory, it found the HID fine. With the CX40 plugged into the adapter, I went into the EmulationStation (ES) main menu via keyboard (or another controller if already mapped), then CONFIGURE INPUT. Then configured as normal. Not much to configure on a CX40
Fire Button will only configure to "B" in this menu, but can be changed other ways.-

I'm using an adapter from .. https://www.retronicdesign.com/en/.
Using it on my Raspberry Pi/Retropie setup. No issues.
