There's no problem remapping the button through the Retroarch UI, just for some reason wouldn't map to 'A' via the ES UI.

I have no words ...

It's been a while, plus I'm @work currently. However from memory, it found the HID fine. With the CX40 plugged into the adapter, I went into the EmulationStation (ES) main menu via keyboard (or another controller if already mapped), then CONFIGURE INPUT. Then configured as normal. Not much to configure on a CX40 Fire Button will only configure to "B" in this menu, but can be changed other ways.

I'm using an adapter from .. https://www.retronicdesign.com/en/. Using it on my Raspberry Pi/Retropie setup. No issues.

For anyone who has lost sleep, sitting on the edge of their seats, waiting for feedback on this scraper .. I've scraped my 2600, 7800, Genesis, Master System, Sega 32x and NES roms without any issues. Just the SNES to do. All done through my PC, wifi networked directly to the Pi. Game select menu systems look fricken gr8. Tried a few of the preloaded ES Themes. The standard Carbon theme looks fine with the 3 picture artwork. (Screenshot, Box Art, Title marquee). Told you ! But on the other side of the coin howkudyou, the cart is definately not common! I would still say a nice pick-up, in my eyes.
