🖥 FlashROM 99 & FinalGROM 99 - Repository
digdugnate replied to arcadeshopper's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
im a late-adopter, but i ordered an FG99 this week as an early-bday present. can't wait! -
ok, i hear that! i do find it weird that in Parsec using the keyboard you can't move upwards and fire at the same time- at least i couldn't.

plus the happier your wife is, the more she tolerates your hobby. (especially as your cart collection outgrows the totes that contain them, and you are getting carts in the mail all the time)

I just acquired a Yahtzee cart (without manual), and was looking at the instructions in the game/playing through- it'd been a LONG time since I played it! My dad had a copy on disk that I suspect was acquired from less than conventional means Anyhoo, playing through this and using the keyboard I was thinking that this game would've been cool if they allowed for use of a joystick for rolling the dice, moving down the scorecard, and confirming input. You would still use the number keys to select the dice, but i think joystick would make the input a little more user-friendly.

oh cool, ok! i wasn't sure if there was some kind of limitation with the TI and what it would read. This definitely increases my available options!

I have just ordered the most-excellent FinalGROM99 of Ralph's- what is you guys' recommendation for an SD card (and also size?) I thought I read that 1 gig would be sufficient, but I don't know a lot about SD cards as far as what *will* work in the FinalGROM. Amazon has a 1 gig Transcend card for $12.89 US, but not sure about the brand name. Initially I only found micro-SD cards at NewEgg. Apologies for a repeat post, but any assistance greatly appreciated! Nathan

fantastic! i just got it on my phone.

since i have been working on my collection i loved the article on collecting. i will attest that the Parker Brothers games Popeye/Frogger and Dig Dug/Ms Pac Man have eluded me to 'finish' those collections. Heck, I'd just be happy for the carts.

We had one for our C64- it was a GREAT joystick.

The Tandy 1000EX took 5.25, the HX took 3.5. My dad had both of these computers when i was in high school- i was always baffled at Tandy's insistence for their really expensive expansion pieces. It seems that to upgrade the ram you had to buy this crazy expansion board (but my memory is pretty vague on this).

this is pretty cool stuff. i have a Program Recorder but I've found the media is not particularly reliable (for me, but ymmv). Will check it out! -
i dont see a ton of these usually listed- looks like fair number of bids, too. http://www.ebay.com/itm/CorComp-9900-Micro-Expansion-System-for-TI-99-4A-with-power-adapter-and-docs-/282659689917?hash=item41cfd495bd:g:GBkAAOSw8thZn5Tv

Joystick or keyboard not working in games
digdugnate replied to funkychimp's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
it's pretty common, too, for the standard TI sticks (aka the hand crampers) to not work. I picked up a set on ebay that were DOA. as for the keyboard... i'm not quite for sure on that one. different games have different control schema, but weird that no combination of any works at all on any game but all keys register in like Basic. -
sooo prettttty. if someone has $299 US laying around.... my Birthday is October 7th (im kidding, but this MBX is gorgeous!) http://www.ebay.com/itm/BOXED-MILTON-BRADLEY-MBX-EXPANSION-SYSTEM-FOR-TI-99-4A-Computer-Baseball-Game-/302457816394?hash=item466be4054a:g:wCgAAOSwjPdZwB8z
