I won't ruin the fun for someone else for a few days, tho.

I understand different people enjoy different aspects of the hobby, and that's all good, but when it comes to collecting cartridges, I'm personally unable to grasp spending that much money on a single cartridge. I could very well be wrong, and probably am, but I believe TI cartridge prices have maxed out. Most people who care about this machine are getting older, some even dying, others who want to play on 'real iron' are getting multicarts like the FinalGROM99. Will the next generation who has no emotional or nostalgic ties to the TI even care about an obscure game for an antique TI?
Will it sell? It may, but if it does it will obviously be to someone with more discretionary income than I.
Those are some pretty deep observations!

Personally, I'm starting to level off my cart-collecting except for some specific things that I'd like (I lack 2 Atarisoft carts and would like to start grabbing some of the Funware ones)- but, really, to play games or use applications I don't have ready access to I'm saving up my money for the FinalGROM99.
The concept of being able to load ANY software I want from the the FinalGROM (well, within reason) and not keep swapping cartridges/disks out of my real iron TI is super exciting to me.

Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom was mentioned in another thread.

Back to the topic of this thread, I'd also like to say that I find this group extremely valuable for me, from learning to entertainment, and a great win for the community ... much more than any of the groups that I was previously member of, notably the Yahoo groups. This is the real thing here, indeed.
(And maybe don't be too grateful to me ... you possibly don't imagine how much of all that I'm doing just for my own fun and leisure.
)sometimes the best ideas are borne from fun and leisure!

I have a TI PEB that has the disk controller and 32k cards, but not an RS232 card. I'd like to get this so I could experiment with printing/that super-looking RS232 wifi card

What do you guys/gals recommend for getting RS232 capability? NanoPEB? Try to find RS232 card on ebay?
Thanks in advance!

neat find! I certainly am not in the 'rare cart' budget right now, lol
-
nope! i was wanting to let someone else guess.

Super Demon Attack has some pretty slick graphics. I picked up Honey Hunt not too long ago, so I've been playing that as of late.

a huge thank you to Arcadeshopper, PeBo, Omega, Ksarul, Mizapf, Insanemultitasker, Adamantyr, Tursi. Shift838, matthew180, and everyone else who i'm not thinking of off-hand but has been a HUGE help to me as I got back into the TI hobby.
This really is one of the best hobbyist communities I've had the pleasure of being a part. I try to bring value by looking my stuff up first, but everyone has always been super helpful when i have weird or unusual questions about all things-TI.

Cool! I look forward to seeing the end results.

yours looks much cleaner to me than the one that i got.
I realized first-hand after getting a couple of these broken Atarisoft carts that they were not really intended to be disassembled, lol.I have a pet project where a friend is going to 3D-print a replacement shell for Centipede, but it's fairly low-priority for us.
Of course.. I guess the argument could be made as well that they didn't expect people to be messing with this stuff 30+ years later, either.

Oh that is cool! I'm working on an XB music program now so that would make it easier to show you guys rather than hand typing or filming it.

I got a Defender cart via eBay some time ago, but was really not thrilled to see that it had been sloppily glued on the outside and a piece of electrical tape on the top to cover where it was broken.
I ended up finding a NiB copy to replace it so finally got around to taking the busted one apart. I figured maybe i could salvage the chip out of the cart- I don't think I'll be able to.

@digdugnate: "Watch the Hoppers!"
(maybe someone will suggest this for the monthly competition?)
That'd be cool! I finally got all my TI stuff hooked back up so Buck Rogers was one of the first things I loaded.
I just have it on disk, tho- haven't actively searched out a cart though i want to add it to my collection. -

i watched that on my break today- that was really cool!
Thanks for sharing this.

-
woohoo! @Omega is correct. You're up, sir!
-
I know the game, I was hoping somebody other than PeBo or myself might answer.
Ha, we do seem to be the ones that answer, huh?

-
Bump-ity bump. Surely someone knows what game this is!
-
more to come, but i have the boss' permission for my very own TI space in our bedroom.
Currently it's occupying the desk with my daily driver computer and it's just not working out (for several reasons).Shopping desks so when I get more setup I'll post pics!
