I think it's funny that Animal Crossing has only been out since 3/20 and is already #6. I feel partly responsible for the crazy times for BL3 and AC:NH, haha

oh neat! i didn't think about moving my house up on the mountain.
my wife got the bug dragon, but i never saw them- ran a couple of bust Nook islands last night as well. s'all good, though, because i made a fortune on the Fish Tourney and Bunny stuff (the easter dresses sold for 8k a piece). i'm slowly building up the bridges and staircases for parts of my island; i prefer the natural step aesthetic.
theres a villager that's a righteous pain in the butt to the other villagers and myself so i'm 'encouraging' him to leave so i can recruit someone else. Village life is tough! lol

Not mixing it up an awful lot this week, but a new game thrown in. The fact that my games span A-D alphabetically amuses me.
Switch:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons -- 2136 minutes
Bubble Bobble 4 Friends -- 253 minutes
Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! -- 600 minutes (even time due to scheduling)
Doom 2016 -- 490 minutes

I left it at 1K left in the balance before the 3rd tier home whatever that is (wider again or another level, don't want to know until I do it.) I felt it more important to do other stuff and look into more island infrastructure, perhaps dropping the $30k if not that to move my house up on the hill like I wanted.
I've decided not to go crazy with this like some people do as you see online. I'm going to go like mountain/island village style with this so I'm just going with natural ramps, and the bridge I put in of my choice was stone, the starter is that annoying wood pole thing I'd love to remove in time to match the other. I've put all my homes in the lower 1/2 of the island too as I'd like to have the isolated central space and peeks undeveloped for the most part. I may throw a lighthouse, observatory, any interesting style kind of stuff in a place like that though.
ill try to get some pics from my island up since i created a burner Twitter to upload them.
sort of what i did was to have the houses grouped together sort of- i've left my mountainy stuff more or less natural. on my hills i've started creating some fenced off areas for flowers. i also have an orchard of all the fruit trees off to one side as well.
that's a cool idea to replace the first bridge! i prefer the stone or wooden bridge (the name escapes me.. suspension?), and i have a red zen bridge going to my 'shrine' area.
personally, i think not going bonkers will go a long way to enjoying the game better for me- i'll get there.

hope you guys have been having fun with Animal Crossing this week and with the events.
I did a good bit for the Fishing Tourney and then for Bunny Day- I managed to craft all the recipes so i got my super-exciting 'prize'. I've been helping my wife out with stuff as we go back and forth to each others' islands.
my house now has *four* rooms! woo!

my game time is more Modern-heavy than Classic this week- part of this had to do with the arthritis in my hands being super flared up. Street Fighter is a righteous pain in the... hand with a controller.
I have been looking at arcade-style sticks for the Switch, though.
Arcade:
Bubble Bobble -- 61 minutes
Street Fighter Alpha -- 120 minutes
Street Fighter Alpha 2 -- 120 minutes

If only Atari had the foresight to realize that it is more fun to have separate buttons for jump and punch. Two buttons with two functions might have transformed this game from the obviously derivative into something innovative.
And I don't remember ever seeing Kanagroo IRL. I think by the time I would have noticed, Donkey Kong (or DK Jr) was so easy to get that it had taken over.
We had a Kangaroo machine at our local roller rink when i was a kid.

I came across this on Reddit this morning. It's a cool little gadget! Not sure if I would get a lot of use out of something like this, but i like gadgety stuff.
The video shows a Switch docked into their device and playing what looks like one of the Pinball FX3 games with arcade-style buttons.

i'm still excited- they'll get their money from me, lol.
-
i guess my answer is 'im not sure'.
it'd depend on the games bundled.
-
negative. funneling money into IRA, buying a sofa (we just have a love seat and it succcccks), paying a credit card off, that sort of thing.
i did splurge and buy a 400 gig microsd card for my Switch.

we have filling from stuffed bell peppers last night, so likely that will be *tacos* tomorrow now.

that seems like hyperbole to me- just like the line from Star Wars about star systems slipping through Imperial fingers (or something like that). There's always going to be places I think to get ROMs no matter what kind of controls the companies exert.

ive been lurking and reading stuff about the remake off and on, i have the same questions i think everyone does on the episodic nature of the games. a lot of it's rhetorical stuff i know has no answer, but still curious.
1) are the games intended to be self-contained?
2) do items/stats/etc carry over?
3) how far apart are the games' release dates going to be?

New Atari Console that Ataribox?
