Then just hit IGNORE on all my posts and you'll never need to hear or see from me again.
Problem solved.
Isn't it so great to have options.
You know the cool thing about the 'Ignore' button? You can use it, too! That way everyone's happy. 😮

i dont have a lot of stuff anymore- just an AV-modded 2600 4-switcher and my TI 99 4/A setup (with the PEB). If I got to that point, I think I'd end up selling the TI kit, if only for the fact that the stuff weighs a TON and takes up a lot of space. this says a lot, because the TI has a great deal of nostalgic value to me.

I agree with @fiudr. I was excited about this before, but, what about if/when it releases?
The fact of the matter in my eyes is that this console/concept is really no different than the Atari VCS- a pretty-ish box to play new-ish versions of games we saw 35 years ago.
Frankly the Amico's Evangelist will be what turns people away from purchasing on release, not the console itself. Who wants the drama instead of *good* games?

i'm good with it, but they sure could pare down the balloons and eggs a bit.
very least, i can make the patterns i guess.

I keep trying to get fish, it's an egg mostly. I try and get fossils more eggs than dino bits. And I go on a nook ticket trip, the entire island is infected with nothing but eggs and litter, seriously. I wanted to make some coin and got screwed so I shut it off as it was my last general round to do for the day. I had just paid the little house off, and setup to put a ramp up to the first tier of my upper ridge, and wanted to just pay off that ramp immediately and I wasn't going to do it selling 50k worth of garbage. Curse that yellow wabbit.
as an aside, love your profile pic
yeah, i'm seeing way more eggs than fish/fossils/etc and also the same behavior on the Nook Islands. it's going to slow down the progress of my KK Concert.

Is it true that it'll take ~60 hours to finish the main quest?
I had to take a break from Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for a similar reason, 50 hours into the game and I'm at the beginning of chapter 7.. my main challenge is to finish this game before the physical copy of FF7 remake arrives at my doorstep.
yes, yes it will, given how grindy it is. i got caught with that too since i picked H'annit- not that i didn't like her, but you can't rotate her out of your party.

sidetracking a bit, that's why it took me so darn long to beat Skyrim! lol
which.. my wife has on the Switch. I'm not sure how many times for how many systems we bought that darn game. 😂

I also loved how you could go just about anywhere from the beginning, even to the final boss (you'd get your ass kicked, but you could do it). Also, finally mountains aren't a barrier, they're just a obstacle to climb over! I spent soooo much time climbing mountains because I wanted to go somewhere and wasn't going to be deterred.
im with you on the open-world aspect- it makes it so much fun, but it also makes it really difficult for me because i couldn't focus on any one thing, lol. i did manage to finally beat the game, tho.

I was thinking about this game last night- https://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/pong-kombat
had this ages ago but remembered it when the Boss and I were watching Mortal Kombat last night. lol

i haven't seen anything specifically related in-game to showing off pictures/custom designs/etc. because i'm lazy i created a burner Twitter account to upload my pics, but that's hardly in-game.
the museum, of course, is only fish, fossils, and bugs. i find it really relaxing to just sit in the museum and watch the fish.

if you guys are into Mystery Science Theater their Twitch channel is streaming movies all day today.
It's been a nice distraction while I'm working.

They only got me for one game because i already picked up ff7 and 8 on eshop and had physical Switch copy of X/X-2. Mrs. Digdug has ff12 and Collection of Mana on cartridge.
I ended up snagging Chocobo Mystery Dungeon since its a good time-waster.
We're the worst kind of whales, really. Lol

And why would I even pay more for the magazine that'll just take up more space which I don't even have in my house?
And now that I can't even go into the stores anymore, that was a waste of money...should have gotten an Amazon Prime sub instead.
i was on the fence about renewing- they were hassling me the last time i think in January. In retrospect, I guess I made a good decision, lol.
That being said, also, I have a milk crate full of those darn magazines in our bedroom.

speaking of SquareEnix, Final Fantasy Record Keeper is still banging around. I want to say they just did their Fifth Anniversary stuff.
there's lots of bang for your buck- I don't think I spent a single dime on it.

@Spriggy - as mentioned before, there's tons of titles out there just depending on what you're in the mood for.
There's tons of demos out there as well if you guys decide to commit to purchasing a Switch. If you like JRPGs at all the Dragon Quest XI demo is looooooong.
i wasn't fond of the 3D Mario games, but I sunk a good number of hours into Super Mario Odyssey due to its ease of control scheme and fantastic visuals/sound. It's one of those titles I feel like that every Switch owner should own.
Zelda: Breath of the Wild is open-world sort-of-Zelda-Skyrim-but-not, so your mileage may vary. A sequel's been announced.
Mario Rabbids Battle Kingdom is a pretty neat turn-based strategy game, kind of like XCom meets Mario.
I'm currently obsessed with Animal Crossing, which is a life-simulator-sort-of game where the main goal is to run around and build up an island, catch fish, plant stuff, build things, that sort of thing.
If you see some titles that look interesting, you might check out longplays (I prefer ones without commentary) as well.

Oh and kind of a cash scam, but if you're not hot on using those airline tickets for 2000 nook points, they sell for $10K a piece if you're coming up short for something. I know in theory it could be seen as a waste, but it's an easy way to make some money in a pinch.
that's cool, i didn't know that!
When you get the upgraded Visitors' Center you can trade like 300 Nook Miles for $3k or $5k bells- I don't remember which it is just right off the bat.

ive had my switch two years and had my two joycon sets repaired once apiece.

I wonder, too, now that we're three years into the life cycle of the first generation Switches how many we're going to see being replaced or fail.

13 hours ago, Tanooki said:I haven't looked into giving the boot. I've been lazy as I was working on other stuff today so I just did the minimum really as far as fossils and whatever I could pick up to donate or sell and that's about that which got me a few bugs and conversations which ende dup with a few nook miles credits.
Wasp catching is like how I did it on 3DS. I shake the tree from the 7 o'clock position so that when I release I'm facing to the right (3 o clock) which is where the hive will drop. I've got the net out already and I just smash the button real fast. I can't get the timing down yet entirely, I got nailed once yesterday, but the day before I got like 3-4 in a row without getting hit by them. I still haven't crept up on the tarantula yet, I get the timing and small nudges towards, but the net just feels grossly more imprecise than previous games so I end up missing and getting KO'd.
Harv, he's like some Tommy Chong wannabe beagle creeper or something.
that's cool to hear the tips on wasp catching- i hate those little bastards. i did get one today to put in the museum- what i had to do is run and get a good distance away so i could swing my net. the net preciseness is kind of a gripe of mine, but a minor one.

i feel like it is! the tutorials and stuff are really good ingame. I haven't played since GameCube but with folks new going in I think that it would be a good first entry into the series.

I don't sleep well plus have some downtime between tasks from work, so I had some extra time (sort of). The expression, I guess, is 'robbing peter to pay paul.'
Switch:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons -- 2176 minutes
No comment needed here, lol. To me, the game is simply fantastic. I never get tired of dorking around in the game and doing random stuff. due to the nature of the game, it's easy for me to pick up and play for a few in between tasks for my job during the week.
XBox One:
Borderlands 3 -- 520 minutes
A new DLC dropped for Borderlands plus the level cap raised- the vending machines also have Legendary-rated guns/shields/etc until 4/2.

Animal Crossing.... Wuh?
in Nintendo Switch
Posted
yeah, it looks like the last few have been bug fixes. one fixes balloon behavior, the other fixed a bug where if a islander moved out you couldn't reuse the land (i think).
