  1. They only got me for one game because i already picked up ff7 and 8 on eshop and had physical Switch copy of X/X-2. Mrs. Digdug has ff12 and Collection of Mana on cartridge. I ended up snagging Chocobo Mystery Dungeon since its a good time-waster. We're the worst kind of whales, really. Lol
  2. i was on the fence about renewing- they were hassling me the last time i think in January. In retrospect, I guess I made a good decision, lol. That being said, also, I have a milk crate full of those darn magazines in our bedroom.
  3. Could've been Voyager 6, hehe. https://memory-alpha.fandom.com/wiki/V'ger
  4. speaking of SquareEnix, Final Fantasy Record Keeper is still banging around. I want to say they just did their Fifth Anniversary stuff. there's lots of bang for your buck- I don't think I spent a single dime on it.
  5. bwhaha! i just spit out my snack. i'm glad i'm not the only one that thinks so!
  6. @Spriggy - as mentioned before, there's tons of titles out there just depending on what you're in the mood for. There's tons of demos out there as well if you guys decide to commit to purchasing a Switch. If you like JRPGs at all the Dragon Quest XI demo is looooooong. i wasn't fond of the 3D Mario games, but I sunk a good number of hours into Super Mario Odyssey due to its ease of control scheme and fantastic visuals/sound. It's one of those titles I feel like that every Switch owner should own. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is open-world sort-of-Zelda-Skyrim-but-not, so your mileage may vary. A sequel's been announced. Mario Rabbids Battle Kingdom is a pretty neat turn-based strategy game, kind of like XCom meets Mario. I'm currently obsessed with Animal Crossing, which is a life-simulator-sort-of game where the main goal is to run around and build up an island, catch fish, plant stuff, build things, that sort of thing. If you see some titles that look interesting, you might check out longplays (I prefer ones without commentary) as well.
  7. that's cool, i didn't know that! When you get the upgraded Visitors' Center you can trade like 300 Nook Miles for $3k or $5k bells- I don't remember which it is just right off the bat.
  8. ive had my switch two years and had my two joycon sets repaired once apiece.
  9. sigh. I wonder, too, now that we're three years into the life cycle of the first generation Switches how many we're going to see being replaced or fail.
  10. that's cool to hear the tips on wasp catching- i hate those little bastards. i did get one today to put in the museum- what i had to do is run and get a good distance away so i could swing my net. the net preciseness is kind of a gripe of mine, but a minor one.
  11. i feel like it is! the tutorials and stuff are really good ingame. I haven't played since GameCube but with folks new going in I think that it would be a good first entry into the series.
  12. I don't sleep well plus have some downtime between tasks from work, so I had some extra time (sort of). The expression, I guess, is 'robbing peter to pay paul.' Switch: Animal Crossing: New Horizons -- 2176 minutes No comment needed here, lol. To me, the game is simply fantastic. I never get tired of dorking around in the game and doing random stuff. due to the nature of the game, it's easy for me to pick up and play for a few in between tasks for my job during the week. XBox One: Borderlands 3 -- 520 minutes A new DLC dropped for Borderlands plus the level cap raised- the vending machines also have Legendary-rated guns/shields/etc until 4/2.
  13. i wish i could say that i had MORE time to play, but i dont. that combined with Animal Crossing's release has really put a dent into Classic Gaming. Arcade: Street Fighter Alpha 2 -- 210 minutes
  14. did i complain about this yet? I don't remember, lol. The BotW puzzles where you're using motion controls to manipulate the ball in three dimensions drove me nuts- a couple of them I had to have my son do. I remembered playing those labryinth-type puzzles as a kid and it just makes me think of those.
  15. gosh, i'm just not sure. some days i tell the Boss 'we should get an XBox Series X' and some days I'm like 'our XBox One S is perfectly fine'. i think $400-$500 is about what I'd expect the next wave of consoles to cost- if it were much higher than 5, no way in heck we would. Mrs. Digdug's gaming rig would just get replaced outright at that point, lol.
  16. @Flojomojo Does the AA forum on my phones browser count? 😂 I don't know that I've played a mobile game in a long time- my Switch is partly (TOTALLY) to blame.
  17. Harv creeps me out! I went to his island to check it out but i hightailed it before i woke up in a bathtub filled with ice or chained to a radiator, lol. I don't think there's a difference between the two workstations other than aesthetics- I created the Mini one simply because I liked the way it looked better. i haven't managed to catch a wasp yet except in the face- i just keep meds on hand and don't even bother running anymore if i'm on a Nook Island. i have an irritating villager as well- it's this monkey named Shari (I think). She doesn't wake up till like 9:30am and is like super hateful to everyone on the island. She's going to get the boot soon! I looked up some guidelines on how to kick someone out so i'll be working on that soon.
  18. I was dumb and meant to multi-quote. My grievances with the Switch eshop go far beyond the scope of this thread. I agree.
  19. ok, i see what you mean. I do think, tho, getting people to buy MORE games other than what's packed in will be dependent on how big a pain in the ass their eshop is.
  20. Atari should've asked the cactus, imo
  21. I created my Steam account about the same time I bought The Orange Box- pretty crafty on Valve's part! lol Veering off, its hard to believe as well that WoW has been around for 16 years. I guess the older you get, the more time distorts.
  22. In general, the store fronts I've used (Switch, XBox, etc) are all tedious and aggravating, especially the MS one for the XBox. You'd think that clicking on tiles would be an easy proposition. I think a good storefront UI would go a long way for user acceptance in a new console.
  23. now to look for the singing cactus...
  24. i'm still playing through Borderlands 3- since my last post I finished the Moxxi DLC and I'm now playing through the Hammerlock one. My Operative is lvl 57 now.
