uggh.. dont get me started on the iron, lol. i have like three rocks on my island.
do yourself a favor and dont get all hopped up on fruit and break your rocks- then you have to wait for them to respawn.

So for my Modern Gaming time, again I'm all over the place.
I poked around a bit in Pokemon Mystery Dungeon but was also playing some Borderlands 3. Because there was yet another sale on the Switch eshop, I picked up Chocobo Mystery Dungeon- I also ended up getting Animal Crossing after swearing I wouldn't, lol.
As an aside, what is up with Nintendo Switch titles having these crazy long weird titles?
Switch:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons -- 900 minutes
Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon EVERY BUDDY! -- 782 minutes
Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX -- 248 minutes
There's not much to say about the new Animal Crossing that hasn't been blasted all over the Internet- if you're a Switch owner, why do you NOT own this game? (I'm just kidding, of course.)
I picked the game up like I mentioned above after swearing to my wife I wouldn't, but then I saw her play about 10 minutes Friday morning first thing. The game is fantastic and relieves loads of stress for me right now when I could use the escape from the sucky real world, lol. Controls are great, visuals and music and fantastic.
If I had a (minor) gripe about the game, it's that my 'flimsy' tools are super flimsy.
I picked up Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon Thursday because of the Square Enix sales on the Switch e-shop and apparently I can't resist dungeon crawlers (as is evidenced in the last two months probably of my game times).
It's a neat game that takes the Mystery Dungeon formula and cranks up the difficulty level to 11- there is an insane amount of grinding required even on 'Normal' difficulty. I broke down and checked some FAQs out online because I was just getting plastered by the Phoenix boss. It also feels like a love letter to past FF titles since you'll see characters referenced plus music from a good number of the FF games is used for the soundtrack- my only gripe here is that its TOO DAMN LOUD and you have to adjust the volume in game.
On Pokemon Mystery Dungeon i think i'm pretty well done with the *major* game play other than picking it up and playing here and there. I evolved my Pokemon Leader and did some of the post-endgame stuff.
XBox One:
Borderlands 3 -- 194 minutes
Just dorking around some in BL3 and levelling up my Gunner. I might have some more time in on the 26th when the next DLC drops.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider (218 min)
Oculus Quest
Beat Saber (519 min)
PC
Tabletopia (134 min)
Finally finished Tomb Raider, and 100% it, though game thinks I'm missing one artifact because of a bug, but whatever. Enjoyed the game, but happy to be moving on, too.
Every week Beat Saber becomes more like actual exercise, which is a nice plus. The Expert and Expert+ maps send between 4 and 5.5 blocks per second (and higher, though those ones are outside my ability so far) which takes some work to keep up with.
I hummed and hawed about including Tabletopia, it being a Steam app to play board games on, but it is included under games and not utilities on Steam, and if playing Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, or Twilight Struggle in their native apps count, playing Viticulture on Tabletopia as I did probably should, too.

Human Resource Machine 1023
Shadow of the Tomb Raider 56
Slay the Spire 178
Tracks - The Train Set Game 24
XOne
A Way Out 96
Flame in the Flood, The 109
I finished all the main story challenges on Human Resource Machine, but I might go back and play some of the optional ones. I also got access to Microsoft's game streaming beta which let me play Shadow of the Tomb Raider. I can stream to Android and Win10 during the beta, so I'll probably dink around with that. I'm looking forward to trying Kingdom Come: Deliverance without having to download a 90+ gb file.
I may be behind the curve again, but I know Steam was offering some of the Tomb Raider stuff for free like yesterday.

not that i'm aware- they are pretty much just regular fruit like the others as far as i know. my island happens to have cherries on it, and my wife's had oranges- i visited an island using my Nook Miles voucher that had coconuts.
I'm neck deep in real-world junk going on at work that really doesn't belong in this forum- so won't get to play right away this morning. I for sure will be wanting to take an AC break later this morning once things settled down. I did get a chance to check out the museum since it opened up today for me and donated a BUNCH of stuff i had clogging up my storage.

I've been spending my Classic Gaming time playing through the Street Fighter games- as from the last few weeks, they're some of my favorite 'mindless' games to play.
The times are all round numbers since I was budgeting the time out right before bedtime.
Arcade:
Street Fighter Alpha -- 210 minutes
Street Fighter Alpha 2 -- 210 minutes
Street Fighter II Turbo -- 15 minutes
Super Street Fighter II -- 15 minutes
Street Fighter III: Third Strike -- 15 minutes

Hopefully all these videoconference meetings I'm doing won't burn me out from any and all screen use forever.
i'm in kind of the same boat. i really like just bumming around and fishing/etc since it's pretty low-stress for me (and mindless). the visuals and music help greatly, too.

Game came out on Friday. My wife got on it first. I've been busy playing catch up.
So what are your thoughts on it?
i haven't been posting because i've been too busy playing! 😂 i told myself i wasn't going to buy it but i lost all my resolve watching my wife play her pre-ordered copy. It took me 10 minutes
my wife had the one on the 3DS and played it quite a bit, but I really haven't played an Animal Crossing game since the GameCube.
I absolutely love the new one- i keep telling myself that I'm only going to play for a little bit, then I end up catching another stupid fish or bug, and then I'm on the Nook Miles treadmill again. My wife has actually set down Stardew Valley for this, and she probably has 500 hours in the Switch version alone.

one would think, but....

it's interesting there's such a difference between scoring on the disk version and cartridge version.

im one of the Animal Crossing suckers after watching my wife play for like 10 minutes on release day, lol.
Animal Crossing (Switch)
Chocobo's Mystery Dungeon (Switch)
Street Fighter Alpha 2 (Arcade)

I get the sentiment behind the message, but try to look at this in perspective.
Personally at this point id rather actually play video games so I think thats where im focusing my energies.

*very* briefly we had pre-ordered Animal Crossing through them for my wife (with a nominal deposit, not full purchase price).
She got to thinking about it, though, and decided that she'd rather have it digitally than having to fool with the cartridge all the time. We bought a larger MicroSD card for her Switch instead, and she was happily playing Animal Crossing when she got up for the day this morning.
likely it won't be a drop in the bucket to them, but i think it's an interesting paradigm change considering that we were some of the last holdouts of our friends for physical-only copies of stuff.

those 500 consoles? not going to backers- going to devs. absolutely no timeline whatsoever on *when* backers will see them.
https://medium.com/@atarivcs/atari-vcs-managing-the-unexpected-d87ac17b99df
"As the Atari Group recently announced, we have confirmed delivery of enough parts by the end of March to build our first 500 Atari VCS production units. A good portion of these first Atari VCS units are earmarked as dev kits for developers. We believe it would be unfair to use the balance to fulfill only a small number of Indiegogo orders, so Atari’s plan is to ship to all backers at the same time when enough VCS units and peripherals are available."

Atari's share is soaring up!
"These disruptions may in fact have an impact, notably with regards to the timetable, on the sourcing, production and shipment of the Atari VCS and of other Atari licensed products commercialized by our partners, as well as on the renewals of these licensing agreements, generators of profits and royalties for the Group. The Group continues to work on the renewal of licensing agreements and on the timetable for the Atari VCS."
In other words 'You'll get nothing and like it!'

also at least one of the stickers doesn't come off, leaving that papery gluey residue on the box.
