Well, I agree, but it wouldn't be necessary to market it like that; "just another port of the game that started it all" would be appropriate... And even later, I'm really surprised nobody did it... What about the paddle controllers anyway? Ain't this a bummer... I had this image of me playing against my daughter on my mint woody and teaching her the basics of computer gaming... *sigh* Cheers Gryzor[/code]

Wow. I would think that Pong would be one of the first releases for the 2600 in its pure, unadulterated form... I'd like to have a cartridge saying PONG in reassuring white letters on a black background and having only a couple basic variations... This version, btw (am away from my PC and can't run it), does it have the classic B&W version at least? Cheers Gryzor

Well, I'll be darned, but I've looked places and I can't find whether there existed a 2600 version of Pong... All I've found is a Sear's version which is not very authentic! Any suggestions? Cheers Gryzor

Well, I opened it up last night, and sure enough, there it was, the grocery store piece of paper with the date on it - 19/Nov/1980 (bahhh I was hoping it would be closer to my age!). So thanks for the tip. Still, I got another question: if the original heavy sixer was heavier due to more shielding, how much shielding did it have, compared to this model? Darn, must've been huge... Cheers Gryzor

Thanks for the reply... I was gonna open it anyway, so we'll see. Of course the sticker may be factory-specific, but it has to be dead-on if it's there Cheers Gryzor

Hello people! Yesterday I got a six-switch woody 2600 in near mint condition. The 'near' refers to the fact that the brown lining around the switches has faded a bit in places; other than that it's in remarkably good condition. My first question is, anyone has any idea on how to fix that? Any particular color I could use, perhaps? My second question is, is there any way to find when it was manufactured? It sayd "Atari Wong" on the back and the serial is 548490347... any ideas? Cheers Gryzor

I have to agree with that -why not release them in french? Many people do speak french -and, in any case, it doesn't really matter in a shooter, does it? Cheers Gryzor -

Ah darn, now I'm sad; I hoped I could participate in this... Anyway. I hope this comes to a fruitful end, my friend! Cheers Gryzor -
