  1. Just a follow up, eBay has told me they have taken 'appropriate action' against the seller. What that is I don't know. What I would like to know is if it is possible for eBay to tell the seller "you must sell these goods to the buyer at the auction price + a realisitc postage fee?" Cheers
  2. No, it's more common that that... I'd say rarity 7 probably, maybe 6. It's worth between $20 and $60 depending on where in the world it is and if anyone's noticed it. It's most common in Australia, so shipping can be high, hence values may be skewed a little! Finally a good reason to be in this country
  3. My PAL BMX Airmaster arrived in the mail today. I paid a whopping 15 australian dollars for it (which also included 3 or 4 other games). Is the PAL version worth as much as the current auction price??
  4. Now he's trying to back out! "Hey....dont bother to pay for these items they are no longer availible...since you said you didnt want to pay for the extra shipping. No harm done...I believe I still can file to get back my ending fee from ebay, by saying that both parties mutually agreed to not go through with the sale of the auction...so I will be doing that ...just to let you know I will inform ebay that we both agreed not to go through with the transaction..." Guess I'll report this too
  5. I've brought a lot of video game stuff from eBay, particularly from overseas sellers. I have no problems with people charging an extra dollar or so to cover the cost of packaging and materials. On the occasional instance I've sold I only charge the cost of postage + the cost of materials, and in a lot of cases i already have the materials so I just charge the postage Funnily enough, in a recent auction, the guy quoted 10 GBP to post, which he got wrong by 50p (cents). Given the guy was honest about it I just paid the extra 50p to compensate him! But you'd imagine this seller dug his own grave with some of his comments in emails
  6. Here's another irony I should've mentioned: Quote: "I'm not trying to make money off the extra shipping charge for australia...."
  7. To cut a long story short - won two dogbone controllers on ebay for $1.25, prior to the auction close I asked how much shipping would cost to Australia. The seller went to the USPS website and told me to add around $9-$11. So I win the auction, and to my amazement, I received an invoice with a postage charge of $30!!! Now the auction was originally to the US only and he stated a postage charge of $19, which is still absurd but I dont see how it applies to me when it is clear that charge pertains to US shipping. Now he seriously believes it will cost him the total of $30 to post two controllers! Quote: "What I told you was you MUST pay the the additional charge that I am going to accure from sending this package to Australia instead of within the US" Now everyone knows it doesnt cost $19 to post two joypads within the USA (even me and I don't live there), nor does it cost $19 + $11 to post it to Australia. So wish me luck as I contact eBay to report this silly person, I'd appreciate it if any of you guys would politely tell this gentleman what he is doing is against eBay policies. Quote: "There is no way I would sell you both very Rare nintendo controllers for 1.25 and then just have you pay for the shipping" Isn't that how eBay usually works? Item price + shipping costs??? Or can you magically charge other fees as well? Appreciate your help on this.
  8. What's a resonable price to pay for the FDS with a couple of disk games? Strangely I couldn't find it on the digital press guides... Cheers
  9. Just from browsing the net it seems that either 7.5V AC @ 0.8A or 12V DC @ 0.5A is the stated power input for these consoles. Do both work? Also what kind of plug is used to connect it to the console? If you're wondering, yes I managed to snare one (minus the power supply) Cheers
  10. I should probably ask that if this mod does work - is it any different for PAL Jr's...
  11. Does it actually work? The one i'm referring to is the first one listed - run some wires from certain points on the board straight into an s-video plug and you're away... Seems to easy to be true?
  12. Heh - I stuffed around to long on that auction, otherwise I would've taken them. At least they're going to a fellow AAer though. Want to carry through on that little hint for me?
  13. That's OK then, always pays to check I guess. Thanks for that
  14. Just won this auction http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...DME:B:EOAB:AU:6 I'm wanting to know how much shipping should cost for this? Note that is being sent to Australia, and i've been quoted US$15 for what I'd assume is Air Mail, which to me seems a little excessive. What do you guys think? I can't imagine that stuff being very heavy. Cheers
  15. Hello there! Another aussie collector here. I have a fair collection of stuff including Atari 2600s: Light Sixer, Vader, Jr (big & small rainbow) Lynx: Lynx I & II Atari 5200 2port Atari 7800 NES: Original Famicom, NES (toaster & top loader) SMS: 1 & 2 MegaDrive: 1, 2, 32x (no cables) and Mega CD II Got a fair bit of other stuff as well, but the favourites in my collection at the moment are my Neo Geo CD and PC Engine Turbo Duo. I know there's more australians around here, reveal yourselves! Cheers
  16. Being an unfortunate soul who lives in Australia, I can't recall ever seeing this stuff on the shelf at any shop. Given this obviously very good for cleaning Atari's, can anyone suggest an equivalent/alternative product that we may have here that will work just as effectively? Cheers
  17. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?Vi...item=8111758221 He won't post it to Oz, otherwise I would've probably snared it

  19. Can someone direct me to some english instructions for doing the A/V mod on the original famicom? I know it's not all that difficult to do, but I'd much prefer to have a nice easy to read set of instructions than trying to interpret japanese Cheers
  20. Cheers for that. Oh and I think I got my left and right's mixed up
  21. I wouldn't have thought so, but I am curious to know after I snared this Also is that a Competition Pro joystick on the left? Looks like it to me.[/url]
  22. I managed to score a top loading NES locally, without the dogbone controller. What's a fair price to pay for a dogbone controller? Cheers
  23. I just cannot track down one of these - crappy system I know, but I'd like to add it to my collection. Not fussed if has games or no games. Other Game Master's manufacturerd by Impel, Delplay, Watara, etc are fine as well. Drop me a line if you can help me out. Cheers NB: I am located in Australia
  24. Just a really quick and dumb question. What are the ratings for the original PC Engine Power supply? Is it the same as the Turbografx-16? Cheers
  25. 9V @ 200ma.. Sounds like the Atari ones will work fine. I posted the same question on Usenet which seems to confirm the Atari 2600 PS will work. I'm not even sure if my Telstar Arcade works - only one way to find out I suppose
