  1. I'm certain we haven't said it enough, but we love you, Kev. I've gone from scoffing at the "overpriced" Analogue NT Mini to adoring it, precisely because you are either a master strategist or just a retro-philanthropist. For all us beneficiaries, I say, thank you.
  2. Dude. Just, dude. Awesome sauce. Edit: Errr, unless, Dudette. Edit 2: still getting the hang of quoting, specifically thank you, Smokey.
  3. We have all RTFM, *CERTAIN PERSON. It doesn't change the fact that the most available O2 bioses (biosis? Bios's?) for the voice module aren't working on at least 4 NT's i'm aware of. I suspect that there are far more recent or better dumps that aren't easily found and downloaded. All the ones I've found are very old. It's not a huge deal since the voice games aren't that great, but still...i'm pretty happy to have the non-voice games. Thanks, Kevtris!
  4. Kevtris - several people are reporting garbled voice with the only voice module files they can find. Mostly very old ones. Were you working with newer dumps? (Newer than 2009 and earlier)
  5. Could someone please PM me a link to the O2 voice module bios? Dang, some of these roms and bios's are super hard to find. Any help receives triple chocolate fudge Karma.
  6. Replacement Analogue shipped fast. Works fine. I'm extremely pleased.
  7. That is so freaking awesome, both to them burying it and for you to dig it up like pirate treasure. All glory to Warren Robinette, the first easter egg hider.
  8. I love these little bits of gaming history. This trivia is just dead interesting to me. Thanks to both of you.
  9. I'm reluctant to cast aspersions considering how quickly they solved my dead port 1 problem. I was sent a new unit and accessories sight unseen. I just explained my problem fully and told them what I had tried to troubleshoot the problem. I have no way to verify anecdotal bad service claims (I admit my story is anecdotal, too, FWIW.) I only know what i've experienced and it was very positive. OTOH, if I get noisy power supply....
  10. Off topic: Kev! What is your icon from? I'm a curious b-stard.
  11. I was borderline rude when I didn't hear back RIGHT AWAY, because 500 BUCKS and white privilege. But, you know, I wouldn't, I SHOULDN'T expect that kind of turn around time from a relatively small company. Corporations live by 4-6 weeks or even 6-8 weeks turnaround on consumer complaints. So, by comparison, I'm frankly astonished at the level if trust I was given. They shipped a replacement with no guarantee I would ever return their product to them. I've seen and worked for small companies in their accounts departments and you'd be surprised what a razor thin margin small companies experience. And then it happened, I was given a return label by PDF by email aroundabouts 48 hours and they had already shipped the replacement. I think they are interested in maintaining their reputation. I have no complaints. As addendum: even though I'll have to wait a little bit longer to play it in my own home, my buddy has a mini nt and I know how awesome (sorry I'm almost 50) the cores have made this system something other than else. I'm perfectly happy to be inconvenienced for a few days.
  12. I have no first hand knowledge of these claims. I only know what's happened for me and that was satisfaction.
  13. To be fair they shipped another complete unit without receiving the problem child first. Resolved within 48 hours. I'd say that's well within a "reasonable expectation". I'm gonna go ahead and call this GREAT customer service. I'm a bit embarrased for getting panicky.
  14. NM, all of a sudden I got a response.
  15. We tried with an original NES controller, no extension and we tried the 8Bitdo. The retro receiver gives only a white light and can't be paired unless removed from the bad NT. It doesn't blink normally for pairing when in the bad NT. When hooked up to the USB cable you can link the controller to the retro receiver. You can even update he firmware correctly so it Isn't the receiver. We could open it and check the solders etc, but...warranty. The solder points look fine through the plexi on the bottom.
  16. Has anyone here experienced or heard of the NT Mini having sudden or straight out of the box controller port 1 issues? I'm almost certain this has nothing to do with the cores since I and a friend checked everything we could by trying all the pieces and parts from the NT and my SD card on his NT. I can get to the menu but no controller signal at all. Firmware updates were already tried. Addendum: here's an interesting thing about the buzzing problem on the power supply: when my friend uses the power supply (first run) on his Mini, no buzz, when plugged into mine (second run) there's a very noticeable buzz. Very strange.
