  1. I was able to beat spike and could never beat ghost.

I played Spike's Peak for about 30 minutes before deciding that Spike is an a-hole, and I don't care about his friggin' Peak ! :x

I could never make it past the first screen. (Is there another screen?)

You deserve to be honored in the Xonox hall of fame for your patience.

  2. Love Doom, but if Halo 2 is anything like the first one it stands a much better chance of being my favorite.

The only one that has a chance of beating it ?

    Half Life 2.

The movies from E3 blew me away.

And while Halo is a close 2nd, Half Life was my favorite FPS ever.

  3. Instead of playing with random people, try to join up with a group.

We have 4 people who have been playing together since the beginning.

We are always looking for 2 more, but we rarely play with random people anymore as we usually play within our group.

Right now (if you are interested) we are playing:

    Ghost Recon Island Thunder

    Rainbow Six 2

    ESPN Football

    Sometimes Crimson Skies

Just think though... soon Halo 2 will be new to everyone ! :D :D :D

  4. It has that lode runner / miner 2049er feel to it too.

    (If I remember right)

It had DK elements but was more of a puzzle game as well.

As the levels went on, the puzzles of how to get to the top got tougher.

I remember loving the sound effects and the grapling hook was very fun and a unique idea.

If I remember right, you had to get all the gifts and the piles of gold before moving on.

And that nest back in the background reminds me that there may have been a bird that attacks?

If anyone knows of where I can get a copy of this... or knows where I can get a TI99 emulator, that would be great.

  5. THAT'S IT ! ! ! ! ! :D :D :D :D :D :D

    God I loved that game.

Something tells me I may never find a copy of it.

Good reason to add a TI to my console collection. That was my first computer. I was an 11 year old pro at BASIC and would

make text adventures for my younger brother all the time.

(Loaded by cassette tape of course...)

That was my only game for the system, but it blew the graphics of my 2600 away, so I played it non-stop.

Thanks to everyone who helped out.

  6. Anyone remember a game for this system where you were a mountain climber and you had to defeat a abonibal snowman /bigfoot-ish monster?

Everything was white with snow and the white snow beast at the type was kind of like Donkey Kong I suppose.

You had to use a Grappling hook (or rope?) to climb from ledge to ledge.

I've looked on Google to try to find lists, but nothing pops out.

There is a game called Alpiner that definitely is not it.

There is a game called Bigfoot, but there are no screenshots and the creature was really like the Abonibal Snowman...

    HELP !

  7. Welcome to AtariAge !

While the Atari 2600 is by far my favorite system, the 5200 definitely comes in second for me. (and I have one or two systems... ;) )

I love the look of the 5200 too, and for me, nothing beats Missile Command or Centipede with the trak ball.

Two games I am missing from my 5200 collection are Robotron and Space Dungeon. I have had lots of opportunities to get them, but I keep waiting to find a joystick coupler. From what I hear, playing those games with the joystick coupler is as good as it gets.

And if you loved Adventure for the 2600, Adventure 2 for the 5200 is coming out (hopefully) this year, and it looks really amazing so far.

As for the Philly Expo, I have heard nothing but great things and am already looking forward to Spring and making my first trip too.

  8. I keep my Commavid and Xonox on the bottom shelf on end, not stacked at all along with any boxed games and Starpath games I have.

For M-Network, I use the old plastic atari cart organizers, but even in those, they have to be balanced just right.

All the rest are just stacked.

  9. I guess it's really a matter of opinion because I put HERO and Fathom on my top 10 list of my favorite atari games.

I do agree, however, that there are a lot of bad Activision games, but I still think there are as many great ones as there are bad.

Pitfall and Kaboom would be nominees for 'greatest atari game ever made' if such an award existed.

My vote still goes to Starpath for making the most consistantly great games.
