Interest Check: Boxed and Loose Zellers Atari 2600 Games
Red 5 replied to sly's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Atari is like pokemon. Gotta get em all. If I don't have it, I want it! Post a list and let's see what you have! -
That's no owl! It's a battle station! Or a Furby... yeah... it's a Furby... definitely not a battle station. Although you should still fear it.

Is it necessary to know why someone is selling?
Red 5 replied to Rev's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Because it makes it more personal and this place is a community of some bizzare extended family of Atari Collectors. For the last couple of years, that has changed much for the worse. Ah well.. -
I can't help it. I'm a gadget geek. If it's new and video game related, I'm in and I need it first. Can't wait until the 27th.
-
I would also do $100 in iTunes cards for $90 Or $50 in iTunes cards for $45 (Obviously, there would be two sets of these available.)
-
For my 40th birthday, I got a ludicrous amount of iTunes gift cards. I will send $115.00 worth of iTunes cards for $100.00 cash to anywhere in the US. First PM gets it. Thanks!
-
PM from me too!

This isn't a soft mod hack, this is wwwaayyy bigger. They have the key. It's over. No system has been destroyed like this since the Dreamcast. Owners of a PS3 will not have to do anything to their systems to play "backed up copies". Burn it and play it. There is no firmware fix. They can't flash the bios, and change anything. It's the freakin' encryption key. The only way around it is to recall and replace every system, or rush out a PS4 for next year. And even then, the entire library of PS3 games just became free to all the pirates in the world. There can't be any more egg on your face than losing your encryption key to the public. I can promise you Sony is in panic mode.

Airlock Feel the love!

HOW DAAAAAAAAAREEE YOU SIR ! ! ! HOW DARE YOU ! ! ! LOCK THE THREAD ! ! Banned for life! Banned for life I say ! ! ! Where are the moderators?!?!?! BLASPHEMY ! ! ! Tunnel Runner is quite simply the best Atari game there is. It is brilliant. That is all! (Getting the pitchforks and torches.)

I love Air Lock. It's all kinds of fun and has a great victory screen. Karate is undebateable as the worst game ever made for any system. Just because the people are big means nothing. It is unplayable. It is broken. It is ugly. It serves no purpose. It is pointless. It is a disaster. If you think there is a worse game than Karate it only means you haven't played Karate. Rule one of Karate, don't play Karate. I'm on a boat. Look at the Atari, look at me, look at Karate. It's an abomination against God.

IT CAME ! IT CAME ! And it was soooo good ! ! I have been collecting Atari games for 10+ years and have a lot. I am proud of my collection and the latest updated total is 595 major label varioation games with 184 boxes. I am at the point where I don't get to add much to it anymore, so when I sort of crossed my fingers and asked for a boxed 2600 game from my SS I knew that there was a shot I would get a duplicate game, but I figured what the hell, right? Maybe I'd get lucky. Well, my SS is the bomb, the stuff, this shiznit, all that and a bag of chips, the king of Atari land and my new hero. I do not get to add a new CIB game to my collection... I get to add three ! All three Mythicon games, boxes and manuals! Helllzzzz yeah ! ! ! Better yet, ALL THREE games are in WAY better condition than my loose ones, so instant upgrade. I had ZERO Mythicon boxes OR manuals, and now I have ALL of them! I couldn't be happier. Today was my last day of work until the New Year and I already had a big grin on my face from that. Getting home and opening that box put me over the top. Thank you so much whoever you are. That was one hell of a gift. (And they threw in a bag of Peanut M&M's too... I mean... wow...) MERRY CHRISTMAS ! ! ! ! !

Oh Secret Santa... where art thou? I can relate to my 7 year old and his Christmas impatient anxiety.

Raiders of the Lost Ark. I tried to beat it as a kid for months. Only recently did I figure out that I had been beating it all along. I did not realize that when you got back to the title screen, that WAS beating it. So much wasted time...

DUDE ! ! WHAT ?!?!? Seriously !?!?!? wow. just.... wow. Well... as long as you are sticking around I guess. Does this end our awesome multiple Atari Baseball Bat owning - overseas - Wonder Twin Powers - relationship? -
I too run and look in the mailbox like I'm 12 years old as soon as I get home from work. I won't be able to wait though... When it gets here, I'm ripping it open. Patience and I do not get along.

Are we supposed to reveal ourselves at some point or are we supposed to remain secret? Not sure of the rules. My user name may give me away by one of my gifts and my location may give me away too if the person who received my gift does some simple investigating. Just wondering what the norm is here as I am a secret santa virgin...

I don't think it is worth anywhere near $500.00. I wouldn't (and have yet to) pay more than $35 for a homebrew. Just saying the graphics are original and very cool looking. The ideas are unique and very artistic. I am really impressed. Not $500 impressed, but really impressed. I would like to see the gameplay more to make a more educated decision, but it is really impressive. Rob Fulop sold Actionauts for $90 a copy (still does I think). If I didn't buy that one for $90 by one of my favorite programmers, I certainly wouldn't spend $500.00 for this. But it is really pretty from what I can see.

The reflection in the water in Summer is great and the spring storm is really nice. The shadowing on the tree makes it look more 3d than anything else on the Atari that I have seen. Makes me wonder what could have been done if video game companies had put the kind of money they do into today's games back then. 1

The $500.00 price tag shouldn't be what everyone is talking about... The amazing graphics that have been pumped out of the 2600 is what everyone should be talking about. I have never seen anything come close to that in any game for our beloved system. Absolutely stunning and amazing! I am blown away.

I think unboxings are fun.

Loose or rare, you got the only one I have seem on Ebay in 3 years. I watched that auction and should have bid. I cried when I saw the final price, but am glad you got it. It think it was a steal. As far as I am concerned, it should get as much as River Patrol, but it doesn't have the "Rarity Fame" for some reason.
